Welcome!
Hello burritotomato, and welcome to the website for The Epilogue, an up and coming 15+ literature guild. This page will provide you with a variety of information about The Epilogue, like rules, ranks and how to apply. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the read. :)
Rules.
Like any other functional guild, The Epilogue needs to have some rules to keep everything running well and smoothly. But don't despair- none of these rules are particularly hard to follow, and most are just issues of common sense.TNT's rules should be followed at all times. I mean, we are all here on Neo, and we do want to keep our accounts and the guild out of trouble, right?
Be active; try to post at least once every few days or so. We'd like to know that you haven't fallen of the face of Neopia. ;)
If you won't be able to remain active for any length of time for any reason, just tell a council member, and they'll make note of it. After all, we all understand that you have a life outside of Neo.
No drama. Our goal is to make The Epilogue a relaxed environment for readers, and any drama would only hinder this goal. If you're having problems with the guild or another member, just take it up (over Neomail, of course) with a council member.
Try to avoid posting more than three times in a row on the guild's message board. This tends to make conversations become a little confusing and harder to follow, so unless its important, we all try to keep this rule in mind.
Be friendly and respectful to all members, or potential members, no matter what. Try to remember to introduce yourself to new members, acknowledge other people's posts, and the likes. You'd be surprised how much that can help.
Consequences.
We need to have some way to enforce our rules, do we not?
For a first offense, you will receive a warning, explaining the transgression.
For a second/ third offense, depending upon the rule that has been violated, you will receive a temporary suspension from the guild.
For repeated offenses, you may either be blocked from the guild for a certain period of time, or removed altogether.
Literacy.
The Epilogue is a relaxed literate guild, which means we expect members to be able to use pretty accurate spelling and grammar. That being said, we are fairly lax when it comes to capitalization and certain acronyms, such as the occasional "lol," "brb," or "idk.".However, chatspeak such as replacing "you" with "u,' "are" with "r," and various letters with numbers or symbols when unnecessary is frowned upon. We also ask if you do dislike the usage of capitals or punctuation that you be consistent with this.
Ranks
On this page, you'll be able to find a quick summary of all the ranks in the Epilogue, and what it takes to attain each one.
Casual reader. This is the rank you receive upon joining; welcome to the Epilogue! ![]()
Bookworm. Well now, it looks like you've taken some time to get to know the guild. You've been here a week? That's great! I bet you've had some good conversations in that time, too. 50 posts' worth, you say? I'm glad to see that you're starting to get to know the members; keep it up!
Reviewer. 100 messages
Editor. Let me be the first to congratulate you for achieving this rank. 200 posts- now that's a pretty impressive number. And you've been in the guild for over a month? ![]()
Publisher. We are actually still deciding what to do with this rank. It may end up being a sub- council, or another rank that any member can aspire to without submitting an application of any sort. ^^
Council.
Here in the Epilogue, we don't really like to rush, especially when it comes to making decisions. Therefore, it's quite unlikely that we'll ask you to join our council immediately after you've expressed interest, regardless of how perfect we think you would be for the role!
However, anyone can still play a big role in the guild, regardless of whether or not you have a council position. Any member would be welcome to share ideas and organize guild events and pages (with council approval, of course.)
Additionally, a lot of major decisions will be made by polls, so everyone will have a chance to participate and make their voice heard.
If you would be interested in a council position, we'd ask that you fill out the form below (provided council applications are open), put it on a petpage and neomail the link to Burrito or Kat. Even if we don't get back to you immediately, know that we're keeping you in mind!
Below, you'll be able to see some major qualities and factors that we will certainly take into account when choosing a new council member.
- Dedication. We want to see that you've been a dedicated member to the Epilogue. We don't usually take the amount of time you've been a member of the guild into consideration, unless you've only been a part of the guild for under a week. In that case, your application will likely be held over to allow you some time to gain familiarity with the Epilogue and its members.
-
Leadership. As y'all know, council members are the ones in charge of keeping the guild on track, and making sure the guild is headed in the right direction. Doing this requires a certain degree of leadership skills, so this is an important thing for us to consider.
(And, just to clarify... By leadership, we don't mean taking things that a council member would normally take care of and handling it yourself. We mean things like taking the initiative to make a page, host an event, make an advertising board... that kind of thing. ^^) - Maturity. Now, we know that this is, for the most part, a 15+ guild and that everyone is /hopefully/ endowed with a certain degree of maturity. However, some of the council member's responsibilities will inevitably require you to act more maturely than usual, and we just want to make sure that every potential applicant is able to do this.
Apply.
So I see that you've decided to become a part of The Epilogue, burritotomato? Well, that's wonderful!
Since you've already read everything over, there's only one thing left to do- apply!
Some tips before you apply:
- These applications are just a basis for us to begin to get to know you. So that means you can just be yourself, and have some fun with it! :)
- Keep in mind that we do have a 15+ age restriction. However, we may be willing to make exceptions if you are close to that age, or prove to be a mature individual.
Now that you've read all of that, you're ready to fill out the form.
This can either be sent via Neomail, or placed on a petpage.
After you've completed everything, you can send the form in to either Kat or Burrito, whomever you chose. You should get the results of your application within a few days. If you don't hear back from us within that timeframe, you can feel free to send us a single reminder Neomail to let us know.
