Recent Happenings;

Well, we've hit over 15,000 posts, and we have over 50 members. The guild has been active, we've been role playing (though not too recently)...things have been looking good for Ascendio!

Right now, I'm focusing on improving the pages we have. I just made a Hufflepuff common room (finally), and now I will focus on making a Ravenclaw one, since they are without one. Julia updated the Gryffindor one, and once I'm through with Ravenclaw I will make Slytherin one. We decided to have a "trophy room" section on each common room, to encourage students even more to earn a trophy for their house.

As for other news, not too much else. On the Guild Boards, Jeremy started a page: Behind The Whomping Willow for the HPGC, which makes for a very nice read.

Other than that, not much else to report. Unfortunately, I've noticed our Slytherin HoH and Hufflepuff HoH have been very inactive...I will have to address that situation rather soon, I'm afraid...

I believe that merging with 1674 really saved Ascendio.

The guild board is now more active than ever before, there is always someone to chat with, and we are up to 39 members. There is talk of Quidditch being played as well! I've never played, but from what I have heard, it sounds quite fun.

We also have two new classes; a Quidditch Class taught by Josh, and Charms Class taught by Bridget! I'm still working on a new page myself, the Inquisitorial Squad. There is still a lot of content to add, but the layout is finally done.

Big news!

I received a neomail from the Headmistress of 1674, informing me that she and her members would be interested in merging with Ascendio.

This is really very big for the guild, and together I know we will be strong and keep the Harry Potter guild scene from dying out.

Needless to say, I am thrilled, and I'm so excited for all of our members to get acquainted with one another!

In other news, Julia has let me take over the Dark Arts Activities page, because she wanted to be able to participate in them to earn her house points. I made it a new layout and updated all the activities yesterday...and so far, only my baby sister has participated...so...PARTICIPATE. Or else I'll send a pack of Dementors after the lot of ya...

The graphics page has also been revamped, and I added some banners to it, as did Lydia.

But, other than that...I am quite saddened to report that the guild has been nothing short of dead lately. Yeah, we have 45 members, but if no one chats, that means nothing. Instead of whining about it, though, I've decided that perhaps we need a change of scenery around here. On the 7th I'm going to make an advertising board to try to get more people to come and to encourage them to chat...perhaps that will make people come out of hiding, yes?

Last night at around 10:00 pm NST, we hit our 10,000th post! This is quite the accomplishment, wouldn't you say? To celebrate, Julia has been promising for a while that Seamus Finnigan would to the "funky chicken"...it was quite hilarious, to be sure. xD

In other news, Jam has kindly offered to make us a new webbie layout! (It's a good thing, too, because our current one does not work in Safari.) I'm very excited to see the final result.

Well, we officially hit the 40 members mark! Everyone's been pretty busy. Whether it be bumping the advertising board, role playing, making banners, chatting, or coding, there's always something to do. Speaking of coding, Julia just made a new Activities page, entitled Dark Arts Activities so make sure to participate in them! Remember...the next house cup winner will be announced on March 1st!

Gryffindor is currently in first with 392 points, in second comes Ravenclaw with 225, next is Slytherin with 103, and last is Hufflepuff with 99. It's still early, however, so it's really anyone's game. (I believe I sounded a bit like Lee Jordan back there, announcing everything.)

Who will win? Only time will tell.

Wow, a lot has happened since the last update!

Ascendio currently has a whopping 39 members; three whom joined today. A special thanks to Lydia for being so good at bumping the advertising board! We also recently reached over 9,000 posts.

Lots of role playing going around as well. Why, just the other day we had a role play that lasted until 3am! It was quite fun, and currently the characters are in the middle of their first task...which involves finding missing puzzle pieces in different terrains. (The desert, a jungle, Antarctica, etc) Needless to say, it's been a lot of fun.

The guild just got a new layout today, too, which features scenes from the Yule Ball...just in time for Valentines day!

Julia updated the Sorting Hat with a brand new spiffy layout, Cherie has been updating the Slytherin Common Room with new content and graphics, and I'm getting to work on an 'Ascendio Display Page' which will include screen shots of past layouts for people who missed them, a trophy room, and anything else I can think of...things are really booming lately, I love it!

Well, things have been quite more active recently, I thank that to the recent role plays. We just reached 7,000 posts, which I find to be quite the accomplishment! The guild also had a member sweep, to clear out a few very inactive members.

Voldemort's Guilty Pleasure has been updated with new scrambled words, so give them a try to earn your house the points they deserve.

What is the meaning of this? I haven't updated in weeks. So sorry.

This isn't exactly guild news, but I wanted to say that the recent ban of the Harry Potter guild gossip pages has made me quite sad indeed. I'd only just begun reading them when TNT deemed them inappropriate. I was looking forward to them critiquing our guild, too, even though we've still got a bit under construction.

Anyhow, moving on. The guild role play has been decided that it will take place every Saturday @ 1:00NST, so be sure to join! It always proves to be quite fun and always very interesting. :) So, set your clocks and be there, because as a famous Wizard once said...

The past two days have been a might slow, so I don't have much to report. (Honestly, I think everyone is still recovering from that 4 in the morning role play.)

Julia finally got the layout put together for her Potter Pixel page. I think it looks very good, and she's made quite a few more pixels from when I reported the last time. Including some doll ones!

Well, as planned, we had the guild role play yesterday. It went everywhere from students getting out of line and having Snape give out huge detentions, to Draco having to go to the Yule Ball with Ginny, who in turn gave him a puking pasty. Karen's Cedric Diggory was nothing short of adorable, Cherie had the perfect harsh Snape, Lydia made sure her Hermione was sensible, Liz's made up went from adoring Ron to getting detention cleaning the school's toilets (without magic, I might add), and Julia made for a hilarious George and had some weird obsession with having him eat loudly.

Then, out of nowhere, it got crazy. Julia mentioned something about the song Dynamite playing during the Yule Ball, and suddenly parody lyrics were made and after that everyone started talking about baby shows, such as The Wiggles. Yeah, don't ask. That's what happens when you role play at 4 in the morning, people.

I came to dance, dance, dance, dance...

Role Play starts today! Everyone ready? We're talking about starting at around 5:00NST (Neopets time) so if you're able, make sure to join us!

Well, after an intense battle, Slytherin won with 1,565 points, and Gryffindor came in second with 1,560. Now that is what I call cutting it close.

Now, it was all fun, but this term we will have to have a limit on how many banners are being made. At the end of this we had WELL over 40 banners made. That is quite an accomplishment, but if you are making graphics solely for the purpose of house points, things can tend to get rushed a bit.

Well, this will be the last 'Recent Happenings' post of 2011! Tomorrow begins a new year, and everyone seems excited for it.

But, the year isn't the only thing starting over, so will the house points. Upon writing this, I'm looking at Slytherin in first with a whopping 1,382 points, second is Gryffindor with 1,240 points, then comes Ravenclaw with 833 points, and last, but not least, is Hufflepuff with 80 points.

Yesterday we dubbed it 'Banner Wars' because everyone was going crazy making banners for house points. Which, was quite humorous, and was very intense! We now have AT LEAST 15 new banners, I've actually lost count, but I am sure our Graphics Page will be quite happy to display them.

Also, on the first it looks like we will be starting the guild role play finally! I for one am quite excited to begin.

Julia has just posted the link for her Potter Pixel page and said it is under a lot of construction at the moment, and plans on making her own layout, but here's a little preview of it. I have always been a fan of pixels, so I can't wait to see how it all looks once it is finished.

Guess who? Jackie here! Alright, so after much thought Julia decided that I would be in charge of the guild Daily Prophet now, and she in turn will be in charge of a future Pixel Page. (Which looks to be quite promising, I might add.)
