These incident reports are recorded interviews from LHUC HYLLBLAZER during questioning and captures. You may scroll to the bottom of this section for a Summary of Reports, an overview of all recorded incidents.
Father had said that the man was a murderer, and a threat to society. He had killed his men and deserved no better. He didn't look like a killer, not to me, anyway. He was just an old man, after all. Old enough to my father's father. But, I did what I was told, well, when my father was around. I stayed in the compound, away from the Stormtroopers, and far away from the other three Captains. Captains were allowed to bring their immediate families with them to stay on base, but considering the base was destroyed, we now stayed on the military compound with the Clones and mercenaries.
Oh, the mercs made great company. In fact, I learned my first curse words from them, ones my father had never even heard of before. So, I doubt very much you'd like to hear them. It was the mercs that brought him in, the old man. Myself, and three of my other friends watched from the pillars as they dragged him by the nape of his neck through the gates.
The old man said nothing, not a single word. He was a Shistavanen, and a very large one at that. One of my friends suggested that if the mercs had tried bringing him in a few years ago, they would have had a much harder time with it. The rest of us agreed, it was too easy to picture him tearing the mercs apart. We all heard stories of their kind eating humans, it was rather hard to avoid the though. But this one was just an old man, well past his prime and into the winter of his life. I couldn't help but wonder why they brought him in, it honestly seemed easier to have just shot him and put him out of his misery. Then again, mercs weren't exactly known for their intelligence.
Midway in the courtyard, one of the Captains appeared, followed by a small group of Troopers. He shouted something, and the mercs let the old man go. He stood, crouched in a combination of age and the usual slope of his species. The Captain seemed to ask him something, but he remained silent as before. The Captain repeated his question, and received the same response. He then shouted and turned, directing his command at the Clones. Several of them gathered around the Shistavanen and beat him to the ground, as is tradition. I never heard so much as a grunt.
They began dragging him away, bruised and bleeding, in the direction the Captain he sulked towards. Before the old man was gone, he looked back towards the gate and upwards toward the pillars. I don't know what he was looking for, but he seemed to gaze right at me. Through me might have been a better term. They had just pulled him from our view when one of the scouts made his usual patrol along the pillars and ordered us to follow him off the high-rise. Later, my friends would joke that he had deemed me his next meal. The Clone escorting us from the pillars said they only eat humans. So I figured I as safe as an eleven year-old could be in the middle of a war.
Dinner that night was spent as usual: alone in my father's quarters while he planned battle strategies with the other Captains. I didn't mind it since, while working, father wasn't very good company. The mercs would have been better. I entertained myself with books, and on occasion, actually worked on my school work. The teacher for my grade was killed in the base attack, so we had no formal teacher. I was afraid my father might injure me if I gave up on schoolwork completely.
The twin suns eventually disappeared beyond the horizon, one after the other. My eyelids got heavy, and soon, I drifted to sleep.
I awoke to pure darkness. To this day, I still can't figure out why. Maybe the room was too hot, maybe I had a dream. Either way, I awoke. I lied in bed for what seemed like many hours, though it may have simply been several minutes. I couldn't sleep, I spun in bed, tangling the sheets between my legs and tail. Normally, my father would have said something, but he never did. I assumed he was still with the Captains.
Eventually, I gave up, swung my legs over the bed and slowly stood. I stumbled over things precariously placed in the hours before, so very gracefully jamming my toe on… something. It might have been the dresser, but I really don't know. I fumbled around in the door's general direction until I actually manage to locate the door. I stepped out into the hallway to head outside for the high-rise. Fresh air, I thought. I never actually reached the pillars.
I stayed close to the walls, avoiding Clone patrols. That's just what I needed, to get into trouble with my father in the middle of the night while he's with the Captains. There were few patrols out that night, most were still out recovering what they could from the areas the mercs destroyed early that day, so my trip was fairly simple until I heard what sounded like a pair of Korrinas wrestling. A series of low grunts and snarls, barely audible even to my ears. I followed it towards the back area of the compound, dodging a Clone patrol or two and ducking beneath windows. I was led to the holding cells where prisoners were kept. I worked my way closer to the growls, keeping to low on the walls and still avoiding annoyingly-placed windows. I found myself between the farthest wall and the holding cells, standing on the foot of a very angry Shistavanen.
Unsurprisingly, I froze. My eyes more than likely bulged nearly out of their sockets. I tried to run, or at the very least, I wanted to get off the thing's foot. Unfortunately, my legs wouldn't budge. Between the gulping and the eye-bulging, I did notice the Shistavanen was not the same one as the old man, in fact, it wasn't even a man. She was younger then the one the mercs dragged in earlier, and much less bruised. I also noticed the very large fangs snarling so very close to my own face, and glowing, yellow eyes searching me...
Move." My trembling legs complied. She continued staring at me for a few seconds and then looked down towards the base of the holding cell. There, a ventilation grate had been ripped from the building, revealing a small hole, and a small area of the older Shistavanen's face. If I was going to be eaten, it was going to be soon.
My eyes flicked between the two Shistavanens until the older one sighed. "I recognize you from earlier. I didn't think they allowed pups on the compound." The femme made a low grumble, causing me to jump. "Chess…
Af… after the base was destroy-
Where else do you think they were going to put their children, Master? Surely they weren't going to leave them in the rubble, and these cheap Imperial scum aren't going to arrange a shuttle to get them out of this war area.
If she were anyone, or anything else, I would have protested the scum comment, but I figured it best not to anger her anymore. I mean, my father and the others forced order in the galaxy, kept criminals, smugglers and killers in line… Killers. I remembered what my father had said about the old man. I needed to get out of there.
I, um… good night," was my ever so skillful retreat. The femme snatched up my collar and lifted me into the air before I got any further than an inch.
She spun me so my face was just as close to her's as before. "I don't think so, kid.
Chess, put him down!" came the whispered shout. It was nearly incomprehensible to my own ears, with the amount of growling involved. The Shistavanen narrowed her eyes and lowered me, but still held an extreme grip on the back of my collar.
He's down. What do you suggest we do with him?" asked the femme. The old man looked down from the hole, nearly causing him to disappear from view completely. In a few seconds, he raised his head again and asked, "Boy, what is your name?
Lhu. Lhuc Hyllblazer. Uh, sir. Lhu," I stammered. It wasn't because I was frightened, not entirely. Really. It's just rather difficult to speak when your being choked by your own pajamas.
Lhuc, is it? … Chess, let him go. Lhuc, I want you to-
I can't help you with nothing! My father said you're a killer, and you are gounna kill me!" I shouted. It was a rather bad idea. Nearby, the steady sound of troopers marching stopped dead, and whisperings began. "Uh oh." Now was the time, if any, that I was going to be eaten.
Blasted kid! See those bars next to the hole? Get those out, and Siriuis can get himself out. Now!" the femme shouted, letting go of my collar and pushing me towards the wall. She ran off towards the other corner of the building.
Child, I am not going to hurt you. The men who I allegedly 'killed' attacked my home and myself. It was self-defense. You have my word," whispered the old man, Siriuis.
But…
Please.
Are you aware of how hard it is to say no to a man who's going to die if you don't help him? I bent down and loosened the bars, which were surprisingly easy; they were just too small for either of the larger creatures to grasp. With both of them out, the old wolfman was able to pull out a bigger section of the wall and heave himself up and out of the cell.
I backed up, rigid against the wall, still fully expecting to become his late-night snack. To my surprise, he stood to his full height and extended an arm towards me. "Thank you, Lhuc.
Shocked, I unknowingly raised my own arm to shake his hand. "Yeah, uh, anytime," I answered slowly, dazed. "Who are you, really? If you aren't a murderer…
He raised head a bit and proudly stated, "My name is Jedi Master Siriuis Kevnik. The girl you met is my apprentice, Aria Nimaroh. If we ever meet again, I'll tell you how she got her nickname. Thank you, and good-bye, Lhuc.
Master, hurry!" barked Aria. The Jedi master nodded at me and sprinted towards his apprentice.
The couple dashed from behind the building, which was followed by shouts and commands from the Stormtroopers. I wasted no time in hurrying back to my father's quarters, though I couldn't help but notice the white-clad clones sent flying by an unseen force. Judging by later radio chatter, the two had escaped into the wilderness, but hadn't seriously harmed anyone.
They were Jedi. For some reason, they didn't seem to fit the description of power-hungry murderers.
Lhuc's family was torn apart during the fall of the Republic, his mother was killed in a rebellion on a planet in the inner rim. In order to keep himself and his son in good terms with the Empire, Lhuc's father took work in the Imperial Army. After several years, he found himself as one of the only non-human Captains in the entire Imperial Militia. The Imperial training and overall hardships of the war had taken their toll on the father, and changed him for the worse. Lhu spent most of his time with children of other Captains.
The 'incident reports' begin on Abbaji, a planet in the Abbaji System in the Outer Rim. The Empire was hunting down pieces of the Black Sun criminal organization, who were on the planet tracking down Siriuis and Aria, Jedi who were rumored to have taken refuge on the jungle planet. The Black Sun were making great progress, having nearly captured Master Siriuis until mercenaries under the Empire's employment snagged him themselves.
During his first night of capture at the Imperial Compound on Abbaji, Siriuis's apprentice Aria comes to his aid. She is unable to free him from the cell until Lhuc, who is a mere child at the time, stumbles into them during a midnight stroll. After helping to free Siriuis, Lhu begins to ponder over the things his father and other Imperial officers had told him over the years about Jedi, and comes to the conclusion that somewhere along the line, the Empire was misinformed. Being only a child of eleven, he didn't comprehend why the Empire might lie about the Jedi's 'betrayal.' Lhuc comes to the conclusion he must question his father about the Jedi.
Unfortunately, being so sheltered from the real world, Lhuc questions his father in a 'less-than appropriate place,' and gets himself arrested by the other Captains. In an interview (given permission by his father), Lhuc admits to helping the Jedi escape, and believing that the Jedi aren't necessarily evil. This chain of events causes the other Captains to vote to send him to an orbiting penitentiary for relearning. Not knowing what else to do, Lhuc father helps him escape into the wilderness of Abbaji while staying at the compound and remaining as Captain. The 'corruption' and 'unusual escape' of his son causes the other Captains to mistrust Lhuc's father, who is sent away for questioning.
Close to dehydration and starvation, Lhuc wanders the Abbaji jungle for several weeks until he once again stumbles into the two Shistavanen Jedi. They take him in and nurse him back to health, teaching him to survive. For a few months, the three remain hidden in the forests while waiting for a chance to escape the planet without causing an incident with either the Black Suns or the Imperial forces. Eventually, they give up waiting and use Lhuc's knowledge of the compound layout to hijack a small freighter and escape the planet.
An incident during the escape leads Siriuis to believe that Lhuc has strength in the Force, and despite his apprentice's protests, tests the boy for any actual control over the Force. It is found that Lhuc does possess the power, and Siriuis decides the Aria has learned enough to graduate from being an apprentice. He then takes Lhuc as his new apprentice.
When Lhuc was nearly seventeen years old, Siriuis sent Aria and Lhuc to an agricultural planet in Hutt Space to protect the farmers there from raiding slavers from another system. The two young Jedi successfully fended off the slavers until thugs under employment from the Hutts arrived, and blamed them for the attack. The two were taken into custody and sent to Jabba's Palace on Tatooine for punishment.
While imprisoned there, the two met a Bothan smuggler, also imprisoned, by the name of Argohs Bostun. Lhuc and Aria (though with much persusasion) struck a deal with the thief: if the Jedi helped him escape, recover and deliver Imperial goods to Rebels located nearby in the System, he would give them enough money to pay off Jabba, who would leave them alone and drop the charges against them. Together, the three escaped Jabba's Palace with only a few thugs' deaths on their hands.
While tracking down the weapons Bostun needed to deliver, Lhuc came across a sort of orb that intrigued him. Finding his obsession with the thing humorous, Bostun purchased the orb for Lhu. However, Aria, ever cautious, mistrusted the thing and warned Lhuc against it. For the most part, Lhuc ignored her warnings and carried the glove with him wherever he went.
With nearly all the goods recovered, they traveled to the Rebel planet to deliver the weapons to find a trap set by the Empire. The three found themselves once again imprisoned, but at the mercy of a much less persuasive foe. It was here that Lhuc discovered that the orb (which the imperial officers failed to take from him) was actually no idle trinket, but rather a shape-shifting serpent.
The serpent (which Bostun named 'Fey,' as it reminded him of creature that lived in the waters of his hometown, Fey'starn) proved to be of great use to the captured trio, as it's seemingly near-sentient intelligence and shape-shifting abilities frightened the guards (fey took the form of a rather intimidating Cavern Spider), who then left the prisoners escape. Using the Force, Lhuc was able to disable the cell shield, releasing not only Aria, Bostun and himself, but also the other prisoners. Using this as a distraction, the three escaped.
Now, Bostun often hangs around the three Jedi (though Aria still despises him), and joins them in their adventures, only ever leaving to 'do business' when his pockets run shallow.
