introduction

Welcome to the official Divinity guild webpage!
We are a private guild that is all about character design, art, writing, and roleplay. Divinity was created on November 7th, 2010 and since then our members have been very active and very friendly. If you want to know more about this guild then you have come to the right place.

Our Focus

Divinity is a friendly, helpful community for the more creative side of Neopets. We focus on designing and developing our pets' characters, as well as all aspects of character design that entail. Our members are very friendly and more than willing to share ideas, give advice, and generally help out with any character development issues.

Our primary goal is to motivate Neopians to express their creativity and expand upon characters of their own Neopets. We hope to inspire artists to write and writers to draw, and ideas to be born and shaped into fully fleshed-out characters.

We accomplish this goal by staging frequent and regular member activities that deal with writing and art. We refer to these as events. They are friendly competitions where our members earn recognition for their creative work in the form of trophies (just little pixels to display achievements).

Guild Features

Divinity offers...
- friendly, competitive events for members on a regular basis. These events are designed to help our members explore, expand, and showcase their skills in art, writing, and character design.
- a character database enlisting characters, in order to make finding a compatible roleplay partner easier.
- indepth critiques from guild members.
- many more features, as we always welcome suggestions from anyone!

Rankings

Elemental
This is the rank you start at. You are elemental, grounded to the basics. When you're at this rank, introduce yourself and get to know the other members, and participate in our events!

Ethereal
In a sense you have officially awakened your power over controlling your characters. You are upgraded to this rank based on your activity in the guild.

Prime
At this ranking you are very familiar with the guild. To get to this stage you must have trophy levels adding up to 15, with trophies from at least two different categories.

Astral
You are an active member at Divinity and you ascend to a sidereal level. You must have trophy levels adding up to 25, with trophies from at least four different event categories.

Divine
So you can create and shape your characters, but do you truly have divine power? Trophy levels adding to 50 will get you to this rank.

getting there

How do I raise my ranking?
The way to do that is to participate in guild events and earn "trophies". This is explained in the next section.

trophy system

Note: In no way is Divinity awarding Neopoints, items, or pets to members that win challenges. We abide by the Neopets Terms of Service in carrying out accomplishment recognition.

what are trophies?

In Divinity, our members ascend in rankings through reaching trophy level totals.

Basically "trophies" are just little pixel images that that Divinity Members obtain the rights to show off after participating in a guild event. They are numbered according to how many level points they are worth, and color coded according to what kind of event they belong to. If you hover over each of your trophy pixels, there will be a brief description of how and when you won it.

When a guild member participates in a challenge, they are awarded a trophy under their section in the trophy cabinet, located on the Game Page. Different members participating in the event are awarded different levels of "guild trophies" for their placement after the entries are judged. Find more information about events on this page.

Color Code

Different colors of trophies awarded for different challenge categories. The color code is as follows:

Red trophy - Art event; Such as the example provided above

Yellow trophy - RP event; To be decided

Green trophy - Story writing event; Such as being given a character and writing a short life history.

Blue trophy - Contributor event; Such as working hard to maintain a significant page for the guild.

Purple trophy - Council's choice; Awarded by the council fairly. An instance could be if you're really nice and helping other members with stuck ideas.

Pink trophy - To be decided.

Note: Council's choice trophies add to your trophy level total, but they may not be considered as an event category type to help you ascend in rankings.

Rules

Note: Our guild council reserves the rights to warn, suspend, or even block those who stray from these rules. We hope that we never have to, however, so please follow them!

General Etiquette

Abide by the Neopets Terms of Service at all times.
Self-explanatory.

Be respectful of other members.
This rule is common sense. Treat others the way you'd like to be treated. Be mindful of others when critiquing their work with the intent of helping them improve. Also, do not beg members. Whether it's for items, pets, Neopoints, or content requests of any sort, just don't do it.

Do not steal ideas/content from other players.
Whether it is character design, art, writing, coding, ideas, or anything else, Divinity has a zero tolerance for theft. The whole point of this guild is to showcase your own creativity, not another person's. Our members work hard to put together their characters and it is not just so others can rip off their creativity.

Do not spam the message boards.
We do not mean that you cannot post twice in a row, but please try to have posts that say more than "Hey I'm bored." We do not have a minimum number of words in a post, but please use your common sense in posting things.

activness

Divinity has member purges from time to time to sweep out inactive members. If you are an active member, then you have no need to worry about being purged.

We try to keep as stress-free an environment as possible.
We understand that there is a world outside of Neopets, and that world can get very busy. Of course real life is far more important than Neopets. All we ask is that you are as active as possible. Please let us know if you'll be taking an extended hiatus.

If you let us know of a hiatus, then you will be excused for inactivity during that period of time.
Even little things like how you'll just be sparse for a month because of school life counts as actually letting us know. Your absence/decrease in activity during this time will not count towards getting you purged. We've all got lives away from the computer, and we understand when you let us know.

I got purged, but can I come back?
You're free to reapply! However, note that being a former member does not increase your chances of getting back in. Your application will be handled like any other new application we receive.

join

If you have read over this page and you feel that Divinity is a guild that's right for you, then you may consider joining us. Please make sure that you follow the application process accordingly.

Current Status

Applications are currently closed.

Reply status: Reviewing many
Reopening: June or July

The Application

Send a neomail to the account unbreakable_dawn with the form below filled out. Please put Divinity Application as the subject. We'll do our best to respond to you ASAP!

What is sought in a character example?
A character is more than just a piece of art and it's more than a simple anecdote - it is the coming together of a history and personality to create someone you can further develop. We understand that developing a character takes lots of time, so we do not require you to have full-blown pages done! However, in your character examples we must be able to see that you already have some sort of basis, and that you intend to make efforts to further develop your characters.

What are we judged on?
Your character example is a huge deciding factor. We would like to see that you have actually got a character. (See the requirements above for more details.) In addition, we are looking for users that seem friendly and active.

Filters won't let me send my application!
We found that Neopets filters have some problem with the word "skill." You can substitute this word or spell it like ski11 and we'll understand. If that doesn't fix it, just throw your application onto a blank petpage and mail us the link to that page instead.

My application exceeds one neomail.
You can either put it on a blank petpage, or mail it in two neomails and specify the parts in their titles. We don't anticipate applications exceeding two neomails, though. If it takes three or more, you might want to consider shortening some answers.

I haven't received a reply to my application. Did you get it? Should I resend it? Did I get rejected?
All applications get a reply, regardless of acceptance. If it's taking a while to hear back, chances are that Nadia is busy and she apologizes for that. If the reply status says reviewing, then do not panic. If you see that all applications have been sorted under reply status and you have not gotten an reply, then resend it. Please make sure you are sending applications to the correct account.

I got rejected, but I really wanted to join. What can I do about this?
Since you will get a personal reply, you probably will know why you got rejected. If it's related to developing your characters further, then take this opportunity to flesh them out a bit more. When applications are open, you are always welcome to reapply.

Can I join on a side account?
Yes, if you can prove that you'll be an active member from that side.

Neoboards

Our boards will currently be focused on recruiting, as well as just chatting.

Only guild members with clearance may create a recruitment board.
If you are unsure of whether or not you have clearance, just ask a council member about it. If you would like clearance, you can ask a council member for it as well.

Any and all Divinity boards must be created on either the Beauty Contest boards or on the Pound Chat boards.

There should only be one Divinity Neoboard at a time.
If there is an already existing Divinity board, then please do not create another one.

All Divinity Neoboards should have this title:

The first post of the board can have whatever message, as long as it's relevant and includes a link to our guild website.
Here is a pretty good example; you do not have to copy it, but you may do so if you wish:

First post:

Second post:

Third post (only if you're on the PC; this is to stay on topic):

Page layout and content by Nadia.

I'm making a page to host something for Divinity (event page, database, etc). Can I use this layout?
Yes, you may! Just be sure check in with a council member about the page you're making, first.
