Quick Quirks

Playful, silly, forgiving, sometimes not all there, easy-going, only serious while doing her job or in times of mourning.

Personality

Jade is one of those happy-go-lucky wolves; some wolves don't like her because of it, but hey, it's no fur off her back. She's lively but lazy at the same time, if that happens to make any sense. Her personality is bursting but her motivation to do anything unnecessary (or what she views as unnecessary) is lacking... a lot. The one thing she is always up for is hunting though and her thick muscles prove that interest. It's all the other activities that don't really get her engine going. But when she dedicates herself to something she'll see it to the end and exerts more energy than most would.

Jade doesn't take offense to most things and very rarely finds a good enough reason to get into an argument with another pack member. She just likes to tell jokes and laugh. Half the time Jade rambles on about nonsense to no one in particular. Some debate her intelligence, even she does at times, but she takes it all in good strides. The fact of the matter is that she is not the brightest crayon in the box but she's certainly not the moldy one beneath the couch that used to be silver.

She's always up for a good joke and doesn't mind the innocent humor pups often display throughout day to day life. She's great with the young ones and doesn't mind one bit being left with them when she's not defending the territory or hunting.

No one really knows where she got her spirit and good nature from, her parents weren't exactly the... ah... funny type. Instead they were fierce wolves, both were held in high regard, her mother a trusted sentinel and her father an honored hunter. Both were serious *shudder*. Perhaps it was their overriding parenting skills that led her to become the wolf she is today. Regardless, when they were still alive her parents were not happy with their bundle of joy. Her only other sibling was, however, similar to her; only he was more driven to act on his entertaining nature.

While much doesn't annoy her she can't stand to see others treated poorly for no good reason. She understands just and fair punishment but anything that didn't deserve reprimand or critique really makes her blood boil.

Appearance

The first impression of the wolf is that of a well-balanced, medium to large size female. She is elegant in appearance and stands squarely on all fours. She gives the impression of depth and solidity without bulkiness and that of a lively wolf whose sparkling personality and easy-going humor are reflected in the bright smile of her slender muzzle and clean-cut but strong shape of head.

Her eyes are almond shaped and are just the average brown commonly found in her species. They do not give off the impression of particular alertness though they do radiate joy. Her lips are a dark black and are often spread apart in a wolfy grin.

Jade's fur is primarily a brownish color with tufts of greys on the over layers. Despite her strength and obvious muscle she has a slightly thinner build than most wolves. The white marks on the upper part of her lips, the dark marks on her tail and a pair of dark marks in her front legs are a rarity for wolves in the pack.

History

Jade is one of two puppies born by the great Dione and Dakota. Her parents were proud and well respected members of the pack. But Jade had no desire to be respected, she only wanted to play! Her brother, Glace, shared similar feelings with her. The main difference between the siblings was Glace knew how to please his parents when they were looking but dear Jade never quite grasped the concept of deception.

Growing up in the pack was much the same experience has the majority of Ritus pups have, though not every pup had as controlling parents as hers. Jade was constantly chastised for being too jumpy, too smiley, too ignorant, too careless. Very little praise was handed to her, but that was not a problem for Jade, she was more interested in chasing butterflies and talking to her friend at the river bed. Jade was never offended that her mysterious friend was too timid to ever speak (the friend was her reflection -- silly pup).

It wasn't long before she and her brother were approached by Grief. They were half a season when their parents had gone out to inspect potential intruders and never returned. No one was sure what happened and no one was sure who the intruders were. But everyone was certain Dione and Dakota would not be returning after the initial week.

She and her brother grew closer because of it but eventually they decided their hearts belonged to different interests. Glace wanted to be a vagabond, he wanted to roam the lands and entertain good wolves that allowed him to rest in their territory. Jade just wanted to stay where her home was and watch it transform. Jade, while not complaining, wished the Ritus pack operated differently. Her parents had gained so much respect in the pack and yet Jade did not think they were very worthy of it. Jade wanted an equal distribution of power and choice, she was not a fan of having leaders selected only because of their bloodline. That's why she wanted to join the rebellion.

And so here she is.
