Check the size (look at viewing the size for help) and make a mental note of it. Then open it in your chosen program and save it without resizing the image. You must upload your image to a site that will hold your images- photobucket (.com) is a favorite. You can also remove the alt tag or change to something like "vote for my pet") Img is just like Url but it has the IMG in front and is not needed

You can view the image size by while viewing the thumbnail of your image, have your arrow of the mouse placed over the image without clicking or moving it and a box should pop right up (it's called "hovering") :o) (it doesn't have to be a perfect 17kb. A person has reported that they uploaded with 19kb size image)

Open the image you want to resize in your adobe program (elements or photoshop) View the size of your image by going to Image- Canvas Size... The size you see here is 188K. That equals to 17kb. You'll want to get the size of your image in that area. (Give or take 20). Go to Image- Image Size... You'll get the box shown left. In photoshop you have the option to choose percent or pixels. Apparantly in Elements you only get pixels. So get your calculator and figure out 50-75% of your image. Keep checking the Canvas Size and keep resizing till you get close. (you can undo your work Edit- Undo) Now with saving, save as a .jpg file (may shown up as JPEG in the drop down box). Name it then save. Another box will pop up and you should ajust the Image Options. Medium will work best, if it's 0 then the image will be very low quality and not that great. Check your image size again just in case.

I have PSP7 but it should be the same with all versions. Open your image and check the size. Image- Image Information You will get a bigger box then what you see to the left. All you want to look at is the red boxed area shown below it. You want to look at the In RAM image: My pic is a perfect 17kb and In RAM it's 188K. Try to get your picture around then 188 (give or take 20) by resizing. Image- Resize... use the percentage. Once you get to a size your happy with save it. Go to File- Save As... and select jpg (JPEG) as the file type.

Open your image in Paint and check the size. Image- Attributes... (or Ctrl E) You will get a box shown top left. You want to look at file size. It shows you the size in KB. Mine says 17.463 bytes You'll want somewhere around that. Nothing bigger then 19! If you need to resize go to Image- Stretch/Skew... (or Ctrl W) Use the Stretch box to resize your image between 50-90%. Check your size again. If it's still not good undo the resize. Edit- Undo (or Ctrl Z) and resize again. Keep doing this till you get the right size. Once you get to a size your happy with save it. Go to File- Save As... and select jpg (JPEG) as the file type.
