LeQuig: Underfrog of the Battledome--Negg-Hunting Fool!

Who is the Under Frog
LeQuig was born a green quiggle. He spent time facing the labray to help with his training. Now that he has reached his goal of 1,000 Endurance, he has been painted a Royal Quiggle. LeQuig is the underfrog in the battledome, He has neither the stats nor the weapons that some of the top battledome players have, however, what he lacks there, he makes up for in determination and guts. He will stand tall in every fight and give the stronger pets a run for their neopoints ;)
He is also known as The 'Negg Hunting Fool' This is because he is always on the look out for neggs, and as fast as he gets them he takes them to the neggary so he can get training neggs :)

Current training methods
- Neggs
- Kitchen Quest

Current 1 player High Score Tables
- Flaming Meerca
- Vira
- Cave Chia
- Sidney
- Count Von Roo
- Meuka

Goals
700 Defence.

Reward
LeQuig finally reached 1,000 endurance on 19th July 2005. For achieving his first goal, he was rewarded by being morphed back to a Quiggle, and painted Royal.
When LeQuig reaches 700 Defence, We will then work on completing LeQuigs Quiggle gallery (LeQuigs_Gallery)

Dreams
LeQuig dreams of having either Illusens Staff, or Wand of the Dark Faerie. Well the underfrog has to have his own dreams ;)

Collecting
LeQuig is currently collecting rare 99 items in his gallery poos_green_gallery.
Also being The Negg Hunting Fool that he is, he is always looking for Neggs so that he can train and be the best Quiggle he can be.

Special Thanks
Thankyou to cynderbear for all the amazing graphics. I am forever in your debt

Training Schools

http://www.neopets.com/island/training.phtml It uses a combination of ten different codestones (Mau Codestone, Tai-Kai Codestone, Lu Codestone, Vo Codestone, Eo Codestone, Main Codestone, Zei Codestone, Orn Codestone, Har Codestone, and Bri Codestone) Depending on your pets level you will need between 1 and 8 codestones per course. The trainer can ask for any codestone at random.

Once in the Training school, click on the courses link at the top of the page. This is where you will put your pet into train. below is the page you will see.

It is pretty straight forward, first you pick what stat you want to train from the first pull down menu, then in the second you pick the pet you want to train, then just click start course.

The second training school is the Academy on Krawk Island. http://www.neopets.com/pirates/academy.phtml Instead of codestones, the academy will require dubloons as payment. The cost per course will range between 1 and 5 dubloons, and again it will depend on your pet's level. Also note that on your pet's species day you can train at the academy at no cost, provided that your pet is below level 40.

As you can see, the layout is the same as the Mystery Island school.

Lastly there is a Secret Ninja School for pets with a level of 250 or more.http://www.neopets.com/island/fight_training.phtml This training school takes between 1 and 8 of the Red Codestones. (Mag Codestone, Vux Codestone, Cui Codestone, Kew Codestone, Sho Codestone, and Zed Codestone).

Scratchcards

For those people that hate training levels at the training schools the scratch card kiosk is for you! http://www.neopets.com/winter/kiosk.phtml three out of the five current scratchcards from there have a level up as a prize. They are :-

Terror Trove Scratccard
Faeries Fortune Scratchcard
Peak O Plenty Scratchcard

To get a prize from the scratchcards you need to scratch off Three of the same icon. to get a level up you need to get 3 icons.
There are pro's and con's to this:- If you don't win a level up there are other prizes you can win. These prizes can range from snowballs and Quiggle Plushies 50,000 nps. As good as this sounds, it can be very expensive to buy the cards, and it is also likely that you may not win a prize at all. As if that wasn't bad enough, if you are lucky enough to win a level up it can go to any of your pets, not just your active pet. This is what the page will look like

Once you get to the Kiosk you can buy a scratchcard by clicking on the button marked 'Yes, I will have one please' once you have a scratchcard you can select it form the pull down menu and then click scratch. NOTE, you can buy scratchcards from other players and bring them to the kiosk, this is handy since you can only buy one scratchcard every 6 hours.

Neggs

Neggs are basically broken into 2 categories, those that are purchased from the Neggery in Terror Mountain http://www.neopets.com/winter/neggery.phtml and those that can be traded in for tokens at the Neggery. Below I have listed those neggs that can be traded in for tokens, and also the neggs from the Neggery that can increase stats.

There are also some items that can add to your pets stats, they are listed below

Because LeQuig's level is over 250, this is the main way for him to train. Therefore, that is why he is known as the 'negg hunting fool.'

Kitchen Quests

If you want to try and get a few extra stats each day, you can go and try your luck at some kitchen quests. The kitchen quests can be found on Mystery Island http://www.neopets.com/island/kitchen.phtml Kitchen quests are simple to do, You go to him, he will ask for your help

Then after you agree to help him he will ask for 3 or 4 random items.

So hit the shops, you can try to restock them, but there is only a limited amount of time, so it is easier to just to to the shop wizard and look for a shop that is selling the items he wants.
If you forget what it is you need to get, or want to know how long you have left go back to the kitchen quest page and he will tell you. Once you have all the items, go back to the chief and click on the button 'I have the ingredients!' and then he will check them off remove them from your inventory and give you your reward.

Important note. check the prices of all the items before you buy anything. you dont want to buy two or 3 items and then realise that the last item will cost way too much and make the quest unaffordable, leaving you stuck with a couple of items you dont need anymore. Also dont click on the 'I have the ingredients!' until you have them all. if you only have 1 of the items he will still take it and give you credt for that part of the quest, however, if for what ever reason you dont finish the quest in time he will keep the item you have already given him. You can do 10 quests each day. If you do complete the quest you can win items, neopoints, or have some stats raised. Again it can go to any of your pets, and the chief has been known to ask for some very expensive items. You will have to judge for yourself if a quest is worth the cost, or if it is too expensive. If the quest is too expensive, then just let the time run out and go back again to get another one.

Coltzan's Shrine

As well as that, don't forget Coltzan's Shrine in the Lost Desert. http://www.neopets.com/desert/shrine.phtml Once at the shrine juc click on the button 'approach the shrine' and hope for the best

After you press teh button you will find out what happened to your pet

You can go there every 12 hours, and depending on what time you go it can do different things Times as follows:-
Agility: Five minutes past the hour (example: 10:05)
Defense: Ten minuets past the hour (example: 10:10)
Strength: Thirty minutes past the hour (example: 10:30)
Endurance/Hit Points : On the hour with even numbers (example: 2 pm, 4pm, 6pm)
Level: On the hour with odd numbers (example: 1pm, 3pm, 5pm)
Dubloons: 55 seconds past the hour
Burnt Food: Between, 11:00 - 12:00
It is also possible that nothing will happen, this sad event can happen at any time through the day.
It is rumoured that at a random time each day, ONE person can get one million neopoints. I haven't seen proof of this, but that doesn't mean it won't happen. Good Luck.
All time are NST. These are the times i have been told, so i cant garantee they are correst, use this as a guide only. It also appears once you pet is high up in levels it doesnt get anything from coltzans shrine, so i rarely go there.

Faerie Quests

Also as a random event when playing on the site, you might be lucky enough to have one of the faeries stop by and give you a quest. Each faerie will ask for a different item, and they will also give you a different reward. Once you buy the item you are asked for, go to Faerieland, and the Faerie Quest page http://www.neopets.com/quests.phtml and there you can give the item to the faerie.

Here what the faeries ask for and what they will give you

Most people will suggest that you turn down earth faerie quests, the items she asks for can be quite expensive and since she only feeds your pets it is not worth it. If you do turn down a faerie quest, remember to go back to the faerie quest page in Faerieland after 600 seconds have passed, or you will not get another quest until you do.

Labray

The last training option I will list here is the Labray. To get access to the Labray you need to first get hold of the 9 pieces of Secret Laboratory Map. You can get them as a random event around the site, or you can buy them from other players. Once you get all 9 pieces go to Games, then Puzzles and then the Treasure Maps game. Once there, click on the Laboratory link and you will be given the option to trade them in for access to the Labray.

IMPORTANT once you trade them in, you cannot get the map pieces back, so be sure this is what you want.
You can use the labray once a day. when you go there you get to choose what pet you want to "zap". The Labray can have many different effects on your pet, they are :-
- change your pet's gender
- change your pet's colour
- change your pet's species
- It can raise or lower any of your pets stats, by a maximum of 5 points
For those that are unsure if the Labray is worth the cost, I kept track of LeQuig's changes for a short time. They are recorded on the pets page of one of my gallery pets. Yurllie

The Actual Battle

Ok, the first thing to do is to make sure you have some weapons equipped to your pet. If you don't have any weapons, you won't last long in a battle. There are many help sites out there that give weapon advice or tell you the stats of each weapon, so I wont go into that here.
Once you have purchased your weapons, go to your inventory Click on the weapon, then in the pull down menu chose equip your pet. Repeat this process until you have equipped all of your weapons.

Once you have your weapons you are ready to start the battle, so head to the battledome. http://www.neopets.com/battledome/battledome.phtml once there click on the '1 player' link at the top of the page.
This is the page where you can choose which pet you want to fight with, and which opponent you want to fight. I recommend starting with Punchbag Bob. He won't hit back, and it will give you a chance to familiarise yourself with the layout.

The battledome is really simple to use. Each round you can choose up to two weapons to use, and your attack style/faerie ability.

I have blacked out most of my weapons, everyone is allowed some secrets ;)

Each weapon will either defend or attack using different icons, or possibly do both. The icons are earth, fire, light, dark, water, air, and physical. This is important to know. If you want to be able to defend yourself in a fight, you need to get a weapon that defends as many of each icon as possible. On the same note, if you want to be harder to defend against, look for a weapon that deals damage with as many icons as possible. A weapon that does three or four different types of icons in attack is much harder to block than a weapon that only does one icon type.

Once you have selected your 2 weapons for the turn, you need to choose what stlye you want to use. Here is a quick explanation of what they do:

Defend - Will reduce the amount of damage you do and, receive by 20%
Cautious - Attack is neutral, you will neither do, or receive extra damage.
Normal Attack - Will do 20% extra damage, however you will also receive 20% extra damage.
Jump and Attack - Will do 30% extra damage, however you will also receive 30% extra damage.
Fierce Attack - Will do 40% extra damage, however you will also receive 40% extra damage.
Beserk - (your pet needs to be level 50 to have this style) Will do 50% extra damage, however you will also receive 50% extra damage

Faerie Abilities

You also have the choice to select up to 6 faerie abilities for your pet to use in battle. This must be done before you begin the battle. To get a faerie ability, you need to have a bottled faerie, and from your inventory click on it then select Bless Your Pet. (similar to equipping a weapon) Note: to get faerie abilities you pet needs to be at or above the correct level for that ability.
For some strange reason some faerie abilities that you get will not do anything at all, yes they are just useless. To help you aviod them i made a list of the faerie abilities that actually do something, and what they do. Note the abilities listed are not all possible abilities, so you may be required to get some useless abilities before you can get the ones on this list. IE with the water faeries after you get heal, there is an ability bubble shield that does nothing and is not on my list, which you need to get before you can get water jet which does do something and is therefore on the list.

Fire Faerie

Earth Faerie

Water Faerie

Air Faerie

Dark Faerie

Light Faerie

With all faerie abilities, you have to choose whether to use it on a strong, medium or weak setting.
Strong - will use 40% of your power
Medium - will use 20% of your power
Weak - will use 10% of your powe

There are some exceptions to this, as you can see on the list of abilities. The following abilities have been discovered to use 40% of your power, no matter whether you use weak, medium or strong setting:
Boil
Burrow
Diamond Dust
Drain Life
Fiery Gaze
Sink
Steam Shield

Keep that in mind. If your power bar goes to 0%, you will not be able to do any attack styles (beserk, fierce etc) even though they dont use power themselves.

Strength/Defence Boost

The amount of damage you do per icon is based upon your pet's strength. Each point of strength has an associated "x-factor", and the damage you do is calculated using the amount of icons your weapon deals multiplied by the 'x-factor' Below is the strength/'x-factor' table

So based on this table, if a pet with 100 strength, attacked using a weapon with 10 (assuming he didn't get any bonus from his attack style) he would do approximately 25 damage (2.5 ('x-factor) *10(number of icons)) If the same pet had 700 strength and a weapon that did 10 icons, he would do approximately 150 damage (15 ('x-factor') *10(number of icons))
As you can see, training you pet is quite important for the battledome ;)

Defence works on the same table as strength. The amount of damage you block per icon is worked out the same way as the amount of damage you deal per icon. Example:
2 pets were fighting. Pet 1 used a weapon that did 5 earth icons. and 400 strength. Pet 2 used a weapon that blocked 5 earth icons, but only had 200 defence. Here is what will happen:
Pet 1 attacks and does 95 damage (9.5('x-factor')*10 (number of icons)) Pet 2 blocks 45 damage (4.5('x-factor') *10 (number of icons blocked)) This means that pet 2, even though his weapon blocks all earth icons, will still take 50 damage because his defence is lower than Pet 1's strength. If Pet 2's defence was 400 or more (equal to or greater than his/her opponent's strength) he/she would have taken no damage at all.
