I play right to left and always release the ball upwards.
At kickoff, I grab the ball and run with the ball angling below the "Shoot for goal line" and then turn up and release the ball just as I hit the 1/2 way line at an angle for all balls except the Faerie.
The Faerie ball can be released straight on, just before you hit the "Shoot for goal line", don't go too close otherwise the goalie will stop it.
*Goal angle are the blue lines - depending on if you are releasing the ball up field or down field.
