Rules

be sure to change the title of this page when you're using this css.
you wouldnt want a title that says 'title', right? xD

1. DO NOT BEG!!!

2. Most of them need applications. All of them can only ask for a neomail application. Owners can not ask for petpage applications anymore. You can still make one if you want though.

3. No means no. If you can't take it, don't apply.

4. You can only try once.

5. Ch@t $p3@k g1v3$ @ r3@lLy b@d 1m@g3! Smilies are fine.

6. We can't get to you straight away, so wait. If we haven't replied to you in a week means that we have rejected your offer, but we'll probably contact you that you have been rejected.

7. Transfer only. No pounding.

8. You have to be 4 months old or over. Not our rules, Neopets' rules, so don't complain.

9. Must be a permanent home! No trading them away!

10. Put the pet's name in the subject part of the the neomail please.

11. Please include your other side account's info as well.

12. Do not bribe us. We're not stupid! If you try to bribe us then you will never be able to adopt from this agency ever again!

13. No zapping the pet unless the pet is a non-LE or painted pet. Painting a basic colour LE pet is perfectly fine.

14. Pounding a pet that you currently have so you can adopt one of our pets is not allowed. This frowned upon!

15. Some pets have to go to main accounts. Don't argue or the pet won't go to you, and no. You may not keep it in your side account and then transfer it from there. If the pet can't go to your main then no pet at all!

16. Remember, everyone can have a go! Just be polite and try your best!

Pets are on xOxBLUExSTRIPESxOx's petpage! I'll gradually add some more pets!

If you want to add your pets just neomail me on this account. If you want to join me to make this agency better then feel free to neomail me!

Tips on writing an application

  • Before you start typing up your application. Think about it and plan it out. Ask yourself questions like is the pet a girl or a boy, how old he or she is, what's his or her's background, etc. The real question is, have you done enough research on this pet?

  • Another thing you need to think about is, are you ready to have another pet of this standard? Are you willing to take the time to look after all your pets? Are you going to cherish this pet forever like she or he was your own child? Think about before applying!

  • If you've had a long think and you think the answer is yes then off we go!

  • Rules. No everybody likes that word. My advice is follow them, no matter how hard thet might seem. They can actually help you without you even noticing! They can be your friend when you do read them carefully! But if you don't read them carefully, they can be your worst nightmare. So follow my advice and read them carefully and remember, different agencies have different rules so remember to read them all!

  • NEVER call a pet 'it'! 'It' is offensive, rude and disrespectful! It gives a bad image and shows that you don't respect the pet or the owner. So remember! NEVER call a pet 'it'!

  • There are usually two types of applications. One is a neomail and the second one is a petpage/webpage. Most pets only require a neomail application, but some pets ie draiks, krawks, exspensive painted pets, unconverted pets, etc require a petpage/webpage. If an owner says it's optional, it means you can choose between a neomail application or a petpage application. I highly recommend you choose the petpage/webpage option because it shows how much effort you have put into making your application and how much you really want the pet. Petpage/webpage applications give you a higher chance of getting accepted. Remember, NEVER use chatspeak on any application. It shows a really bad image and they probably won't accept it!

  • Neomail application: Usually just 5 or more lines about yourself and what your future plans are for the pet. Some might say their pet needs a very detailed neomail. I suggest you do some roleplaying. Especially comdey ones. Those give you a higher chance of winning. If you can't fit everything in one neomail, ask the owner if you can put it on a petpage.

  • Petpage/webpage application: These applications usually have to be more detailed then a neomail application. You have to make a layout even if it isn't the snazzest one in the world! You have to make the font easy to read. Don't put too much flashing or glittery things or you'll make the owner feel dizzy or make them go blind! Don't make it boring! If you do, the owner probably won't continue reading and reject your application! Draw some pictures if you can. Make sure it's orginal and not similar to somebody else's page or they'll think you just stole it from someone else and you didn't put any effort into making it.

  • But what do I have to add to my neomail application?!?!?! Ok, first of all, stop freaking out! Second of all, I'm getting to that. Always have a beginning, a middle and an end. If you don't have a set out structure then you'll be all over the place. Have a short introduction. If you really want to impress them then you can start off with a little story or a role play. But don't make it too extreme. Your only on the introduction!

This is an terrible example but I doing this from the top of my head!

I was searching through the pound but I just couldn't find the right pet for me until I saw an ad that said "Yellow Poogle up for adoption! Have to be a caring owner!" I suddenly knew that was the perfect pet that I have been waiting for! I instantly contact the owner to adopt the pet

Horrible but you get the point.

Write about yourself, things like who you are, how long you've been playing on Neopets, your other accounts and show them how well you've been caring for your other pets. If you have a sick pet who is unhappy and dying then they'll probably think your a bad owner and ignore you or reject you. Reflect your personatily in this paragraph. Show off about. But don't boast about it though.

Talk about your future plans for the pet. Are you going to give a petpet if the pet doesn't already have one? Be honest and tell them everything. If you don't open up then they might be confused on what you want to do with the pet. Roleplaying is another good idea. But remember, the owner might check up even after they have accepted you. Remember, what you have said to them you have to keep your word and do it!

Don't forget to do a conclusion. Say something like, "I hope you do find the right owner!" or something like that which is polite. Don't forget to thank them for taking the time to read your application.

My final word for this catorgery is if they don't accept you, don't start feeling all angry and suddenly become rude to them. You tried your hardest but unfortunely someone tried just the tiny bit harder than you. Also, if that person says that they only accept petpage application, then they mean it. If you send them a neomail application, they're definitely going to reject you and probably your future applications even if it is a petpage application! When you make a petpage, most people think that you work harder than a neomail application. A lot of people think that neomail applications are to simple and that you don't have to spend to much time on it. I personally know a lot of owners judge the applier on their userlookup and how they're treating their pets. Put pictures and art on your pet's lookups as well. Add some detail in it!

Bad applications are really common. My advice is, no chatspeak like, G1Mm3 uR p37 p1z! Numbers may look like some letters but they still are numbers so don't use them. It immediately gives you a bad image! If you're just going to ask when they're pounding their pet then don't even bother asking. That is not considered an application! Can I have ______ and I want _____ ! You might not think this happens but it most certainly does. Grow up! Nobody's going to accept that!

  • Ok, you've talked about neomail applications but what about petpage applications?!?!?! Ok, slow down! I'm getting to that! Same as a neomail application, you need a introduction and a conclusion. Make it simple. But not too simple. Have an introduction at the start and say something like a greeting and which pet your applying for. Roleplaying, again, a great way to start things off! Always gives a good impression. The conclusion. It's like the big finale where all the exciting things have finshed but you still need to finsh on a high with a bang! This is where all your hard work finally comes to an end. What do you think will tie it all up?

Talk about yourself. What are your favourite Neopets or who's your favourite Neopet staff member. Just talk about yourself. Anyway, it's your time to shine! What are your real life hobbies. What's your personality like? What are some good features about you? You can decide how big or small this section is. It doesn't matter. It's just about you!

Now to stop thinking about you and start thinking about the pet. Why do you really want the pet? Is it because it's species or it's name or is it just your ultimate dream pet? Put some thought into this section. It should be bigger than the section about you!

Plans for the future? What do you want to do with your new pet? Enter them in a compeition and show how great your pet is. Buy them a petpet and a petpetpet with it. Be honest and let it all out!

Now enough about the future, let's talk now, the present. Talk about you current Neopet family. Give them some information on why you created or adopted your pets you have now.

Talk about your account history. Tell them about your side accounts and when you finally got the Lab Ray. Also talk about your other frozen, hacked or warned accounts. Don't be afraid to share about your past. Most owners don't mind your past, as long as your doing fine in the present!

Give your page some touch with some art. You don't have to be the world's greatest artist, as long as you've tried and you haven't given up is all that matters!

Roleplaying always gets the owner interested. It shows that you are willing to give some time to think a story and compose it for them to read and entertain them as well. Don't make it boring. Remember to always try. It won't kill you!

You don't have to write a peom but if you can, give it a try. Poems can show the artist side of you. It shows that you have used every once of your brain power to think of a poem!

Stories are always good. Make a story about the history of the pet (if you know some). It doesn't have to be too long. Just a few paragraphs will do.

Tell them about your other adoptions and transfer with another owner and if it was successful or not. Tell them everything.

This is optional, but you can always give your AIM, MSN, YAHOO or email address to them. Then you can contact them in another way. Most of them need you to have a instant messenger of some sort so if they decide to transfer the pet by pounding, you won't lose your pet in the process.

The layout of the page has to fit the pet. For example; if your applying for a pirate pet and you put a pink floral background, then that doesn't give you the best impression. You don't have to make it the best layout in the world. Even if you aren't good at HTML, a lot of websites have a guide on how to make one. Don't ever use a pre-made one. Most owners frown upon this.

Done with the layout? Now put a background and some soft music. What would they think if you suddenly have electric guitar music blaring at them? They would probably fall off there sits from shock! Don't get them distracted. Remember, you want them to focus on the text, not them dancing around in their bedroom to the catchy song on your page. Probably a song without words is probbably better. Make a theme in your petpage. If it's a darigan pet then the theme could be purple and goth like. But don't make it too depressing.

Don't forget to add humour. It's not a section. Just try to put some in at least in every paragraph. Try to make them laugh. That's always good!

Now I'm just about to finish up but I do still have some final tips for you. My do's and don'ts.

    Don'ts:

Don't ever ever beg for a pet. Owners will 100 percent delete and/or ignore you if they see this sort of behaviour!

Bribing the owner is as worse as begging. It's the same as begging. You will definitely get rejected and if TNT catch you doing this, you could be frozen!

Spamming and sending multiple neomails to owners is annoying. Just send your application or link just once. You won't get an immediate answers from them so just wait and be patient!

Lying is the worst thing you could ever do, so don't do it! If the owner finds our your lying, you definietly won't get that pet!

    Do's:

Use correct grammar and spelling. If you don't know how to spell something, don't guess. Use a dictionary. If you guess, the reader might not know what your saying. Don't use chatspeak. I few smilies might be fine but don't over use them!

Be nice and try to be funny. Leaves a good impression and keeps the owner entertained.

Well that's it. Hope you find these tips useful and hope you have success on applying for your dream pet! Thanks for reading!
