Golden Rules
- You are an adult, please act like one.
- Treat others as you would wish to be treated.
- Be helpful and kind, especially to new members and those new to Neopets - we were all there once!
- Be as active as you can.
Promotion
For the moment, promotions are entirely at council's discretion. We take into account your active role in the guild, so your best course for promotion is to be nice, helpful and post (if not daily) at least a few times a week so we can get to know you better. Inactive members will receive one warning and then will be removed from the guild. If you are going on an extended vacation or something, just let us know!
Being active in posting and participating in guild activities is essential for you to retain guild membership. You are on "probation" while you are still ranked New Friend. During this time, you are not eligible for certain guild activities.
Posting on the Guild Board
- Please make sure to be literate, which includes proper spelling, capitalization and punctuation most of the time. Of course mistakes are normal, so don't worry about it too much.
- Do not use chatspeak. Using an occasional LOL or the like is fine, as long as the bulk of your message is in normal language.
- Have you reached a Neogoal, had a very lucky day on your dailies or maybe an exciting Random Event? Maybe you've had a great (or awful) day in the Real World(tm)... Of course we want to know!
- However, please do not use the guild board as an instant messaging service. Your messages should be at least two sentences long and have a point.
- Offending messages will be removed at council's discretion and continued disregard for these guidelines will result in a warning.
Member Spotlight
Piper, one of our newest members
- Her name is actually Cindy, but her nickname with friends, family and Neopets is Piper. Today (Sat) is her birthday! She is fairly sure that those who know her would say she is fun to be around. She admits to being quiet at first but then really talkative once she begins to get to know you. She is not to thrilled about talking about herself, but I think that makes her all the more generous. Her favourite species is the Lupe and you can learn more about her favourite pet below. On Neopets, she enjoys earning NP and collecting avatars. Her current Neogoal is to earn the Adam avatar. Her favourite game is Kass Basher, which is a quick and easy 3k per day earner. In the Real World(tm), Piper is a high school history teacher in Arizona.
Pet Spotlight
Zahiryn, who dreams of being a Darigan Lupe
- Right now Zahiryn is an undesireable female Yellow Skeith (so we will refer to her as a boy -- haha). Z's pretty smart since he has read 79 books... but getting zapped by the ray is giving him headaches! Some stats are wildly increasing, while other seesaw... and a few plummet. At the time of my interview with Piper, he was a lowly level 2 with these stats: 30 HP, 10 strength, 21 defence, and 17 movement. Piper says someone came up with Z's name for her since she had a male Darigan Lupe in mind from the very beginning. He was born a green lupe but was tricked into drinking a strange potion by the school bully, and it turned him into a mutant zafara. He was not happy about his change and is undergoing lab treatments for his self-esteem, or lack thereof at the moment. (Shh... don't tell him that *Piper* was the one that gave him the potion so she could get an avatar out of it.) But, he is currently being zapped by the lab ray to hopefully get turned back into his true Lupe form. He already has the coolest pet, a darigan faellie named Fenris. Piper really loves him and he is her oldest pet on that account and will be the second pet she will hand paint (once HE is a boy and a Lupe again.)
Activities
Book of the Week Club
Every week, council member Kelsey has copies of the Book of the Week in her trades at a substantial discount (limit one book per member). She believes that the best pets are the smartest pets! The current week's selection is listed on the guild front page. Please note to be eligible for this activity you must be ranked Junior Friend or higher. (5 GP/week)
Treasure Toss
Check the guild front page for this week's chosen member and their chosen theme. Every Tuesday, toss items relating to the theme to the member on the date given. These items should not be junk, but do not have to be very expensive. Be as generous as is in your nature. Please remember to keep track of who tossed you things when it is YOUR turn! (5 GP/week)
Better Than You
Every Wednesday begins the new week's competition. One member (the host) chooses a Flash game for the competition. Every other member (the challengers) have the opportunity to "Send a Challenge" to try and beat the host during the following week. Challengers receive 5 GP for participation or 10 GP for BEATING the host. Host receives 1 GP for each challenger plus a 5 GP bonus for hosting. The host neomails each result to Caroline (trinity_xx). Member and Pet Spotlights
Every Saturday, both of these weekly spotlights will be updated. Members receive questionairres up to a month in advance, but should still answer as quickly as they are able. If responses are not received on time, I should still have others ready. There is no GP award with this activity, it is just a fun way to get to know about your fellow members and their favourite pets.
Scratchy Sunday
Every Sunday expect to receive one or more scratchcards from jafg_guild_account. Please let us know how you did by posting your results on the guild board. Happy scratching! Please note to be eligible for this event you must be ranked Junior Friend or higher. (Currently this activity is suspended until TNT fixes the scratchcard kiosks.)
Monthly Puzzles
On the first of every month, a new set of puzzles will be uploaded and give you a chance to earn Guild Points if you can solve the puzzles. Use the link provided on the puzzle page and neomail your answers to kyootlittlegirl. (up to 45 GP/month)

So, what are all those Guild Points for? If you have the most points out of all the guild members by month's end, you will be featured on the guild front page all during the following month as the Member of the Month. Other spiffy things may go along with this, but we're not telling.... shh.
