The Layout
The layout of this website is easy to follow if you just know how. This is the main column. This has guild information. The next column over to the right is the navigation. That is just the navigation for the
website. To see other guild pages, click the
Portal link. This will take you to a list of guild links, and from there you can find what you want. The column all the way to the left is our
Updates column. This is updated whenever something new is happening, when an activity is updated, and so on. It is the best way to keep up with the now of
Odyssey.
Guild Rules
Here are the rules of the guild. Follow please.
1. Follow Neopets rules, please.
2. Please, no spamming. All of your board messages should consist of at least three words, as much as possible. They should also be literate and appropriate for Neopets.
3. Do not harass members, ex-members, or anyone in any other guild.
4. No cheating. If you have an activity page, be honest in point tallies and who gets the points.
5. Do not advertise a guild from another account in our guild.
Any other rules can be added at any time.
Theme
Odyssey's theme is Neopets related. So, layouts will
alwaysfeature Neopets images. Almost everything we feature in this guild will be related to Neopets.
But, the underlying theme of
Odyssey is adventure. It's following your dreams. It's not letting anything hold you back. On this layout, that is represented by the Neopet Eyrie flying through the air, not letting anyone hold her down or tell her she cannot achieve her dreams.
Our guild is all about friendship, charity, goals, and facing adventure! We try and have a good time, no matter what. Through the ups and downs, your Neopian pals are always there, and that's what we want to be: you best and forever neofriends.
We have a chance for everyone in the guild to be a part of something, and we know everyone likes the feeling of fitting in somewhere. Here, you're not a
number, you are a
person, and we hope to make you feel that way. You can talk to any of us about anything, and that our guild will make you love Neopets even more!
If you think you are up for the challenge, give us a chance! Chances are, you'll find a place you love to be with people you love to talk to!
Literacy
We are a literate guild. We understand, here and there, there will be typos. We understand that punctuation is sometimes hazy, or you will forget to add every single punctuation mark.
At the same time, we do NOT understand people who talk like this:

We understand some abbreviations, considering not
everything can be typed out, especially if you're trying to reply quickly, but chat speak is NOT tolerated, and neither is CONSTANT ABBREVIATIONS. Stay as literate as possible. If not, we might have to ask you to leave the guild.
Council Ranks
Captain
This is the owner's rank. No one else can have this rank. This is
Ava. She
loves Odyssey with all her heart, and hopes it is successful. She is in charge of the webbie, the guild, some activities, keeping up with members and the portal, and more. She can't do it alone, though. There are other people to help.
CoCaptain
This is Ava's helper. They have almost as much power as her. They also help update the guild, work on activities, and more. They are basically a
second Ava. They do what Ava does, and they take over if Ava is busy or on vacation or cannot help the guild that day.
First Mate
This is the rank beneath CoCaptain. Their main job is to help think of new activities for the guild to take part in. They should have an activity page and help Ava with hers. They should also help keep up with guild points (which will be discussed later on the webbie). They should neomail Ava if the points need to be updated and such.
Skipper
This is the rank below First Mate. The
Skipper is in charge of being the PR representative. They help with directing our new crew members onto the right path while they are here. They answer questions and help keep the new crew members informed. They should check the webbie regularly and be very familiar with the guild.
Assistant
This is the rank that is very important to the guild.
The Member of the Month (more on this later) gets this slot. They change every third of the month. They get to "intern" as a council member. They get whatever duties Ava needs done that month.
Member Rankings
Crewman
This is the rank you start out as in the guild. You are free to participate in activities and drives and such. To move up in rank, you must earn
100 guild points (more on that later) and be in the guild at least two weeks.
Adventurer
This is one rank up from Crewman. Now, you can have a guild activity page, if you wish. You can still participate in other member's activities. To move up to the next rank, you must earn an additional
300 guild points and be in the guild at least four weeks.
Crusader
This is one rank up from Adventurer. You can not only have an activity page, but you can have a
special guild page (more on that later). To move up to the next rank, you must earn an additional
500 points and be in the guild at least one month.
Explorer
This is one rank up from Crusader. Now, besides an activity page and a special page, but you can now sign up to judge
official activities (more on that later). To move up to the final rank, you must earn an additional
700 points and be in the guild at least one month and one week.
Odyssian
This is the highest rank for regular, non-council members. You can have an activity page, a special page, judge officials, and
invite new members. You can also have more than one activity page and/or special page. This is the point where, if there are more positions open, you can "run" for council (more on that later). After this, whatever points you earn can go full toward being the Member of the Month.
**There are indeed exceptions to all of these. If Ava thinks you've done something special, or you deserve to move up in rank, or down, she has the right to switch your rank. These are just basic guidelines that she expects to stick to.
Points: Explained
This guild
does work on a guild points system. You cannot get
items by having guild points, but you can move up in rank and become member of the month.
Earning Points
There are multiple ways to earn points. Some are easy, some are harder, but it's not impossible. Here are some ways to earn points. Point values may vary, depending on work put in or at discretion of Ava or other point keepers.
Create a layout for the guild (more info below): about 15 points
Create another graphic for the guild graphics page (more info below): about 5-20 points
Complete an "official" activity: about 10-30 points
Activities: varies depending on activity and person in charge of it. See individual pages for details.
Ava can add points if you do a good deed or if she believes you've been a fantastic member, and she can add whatever amount she deems necessary.
Recruiting (more on this later): 5 for a recommendation, 15 for a successful invite. See more below!
More may be added/edited at any time.
What do you do with the points?
When you earn the points, Ava will add them to the running tally on this page (if anyone else has a page on which pages can be earned, then they will neomail Ava their tallies everyday, and those will then be added to the running tally here). Your points will not be wiped as long as you are in the guild. They are only wiped when you use them.
But how do you use them? And what for?
You use your points to move up in rank. When you have enough to move up, neomail Ava that that is what you want to use them for. When you've been in the guild long enough, you can move up.
After you've moved up all that you can, you can keep your points running. Whomever has the most points for the month becomes the Member of the Month. In this case, though, your points will not be wiped if you become the Member of the Month.
Member of the Month
The Member of the Month (otherwise known as MOTM) if the member that has the most points as of the second of the month. If more than one member has the most points, it will be put to a one day poll vote, and whomever gets more votes becomes the MOTM.
Along with being the MOTM, you get the lowest council position for a month. You also get a trophy image to put on your lookup or page or where ever you wish.
You also get featured on the updates sidebar on the website.
And yes, you can be the MOTM for multiple months in a row.
Mascot
Do we have one? Not as of right now, but Mascots are basically Pets of the Month. Which ever pet Ava thinks looks the
spiffiest that month gets a spotlight and a nifty trophy! These are announced when the Member of the Month is announced.
Activity Pages
To have your own guild activity page, you must at least be ranked as an
Adventurer. Here are rules for having an activity page.
Rules:
1. You must run it
yourself. Please don't have joint pages.
2. Try and be original. Try and come up with your own activity ideas. If another page has it already, try and do something different. We don't want five pages all with scavenger hunts on them!
3. You cannot collect anything for the guild. If you want to run a hunt or anything that involves donations, you
must inform Ava and have them send everything to her, unless you are also on council and that is part of your duty as
council person.
4. You should have at least 5 activities. Anything less, maybe just suggest them to Ava. She will credit you for any ideas you submit if she uses them.
5. Do not take coding from anyone for your page, and
do not directly copy any
other guild's pages. We need to respect all Neopians.
6. Points earned should not exceed 10 points per activity.
7. Send point tallies to Ava everyday before you get off for the day. She'll add them up here on the website. Know that if you have a running total on your page for your activities, that that
is not the official tally.
8. You cannot play your own page.
9. You must apply for a page. Fill out the page below and send it to Ava (Avinia). Where it says Ava's favorite neopet, say she likes them all, or you will not be able to have a page. Ava needs to know that you read all the rules.
10. Ava can ask you, at any time, to remove your page.
11. Page should not contain profanity or anything Neopets Monitors would deem a "bad word".

What is a special guild page? Well, it is a page about something for the guild that isn't an activity page. Here are the pages we want to have. You can sign up for them! The ones crossed out are taken. Some have numbers in parentheses beside them. The number in the parentheses is the number of that page we want. Officials: What are they?
In this guild, we have an
official activities page, run by the owner. This gathering of activities always has one that involves making a layout, or decorating your gallery, or something snazzy like that.
If you are an
Explorer, you can register to judge these
fabulous faires of fun! LIsted below are this month's officials. In parentheses are how many judges Ava needs to help her. If it's crossed off, it is full. Fill out the form and neomail it to become a judge!

Inviting a Member
As of right now, this guild is private, so we need to
invite people to see our guild and become a member. Also, as of right now, you
do not need to apply to get an invite.
But, you do have to be at least an
Odyssian to invite someone.
What can you do, then, if you are not that high of a rank and you know someone who really wants to join? Just neomail one of the council members or an
Odyssian and they will send the invite. Sure, it's a pain, but it keeps new members from inviting all their friends and trying to n00bify the guild.
If you are and
Odyssian or you are
on council invite only people you think will take
Odyssey seriously. We don't want someone joining for ten minutes then leaving after spamming our boards! Use discretion when inviting someone to join, please.
If you are able to invite a member, and you get them to join the guild, you can earn points. If you cannot invite someone, tell them to say you invited them, even though they are getting an invite from someone else. You did all the harder work, you get the points. The person who helps you can also receive
one point for sending the invite.
Getting on the Council: How to
Yes, if council positions are open and you are ranked an
Odyssian you can become a council member. Here is how (NOTE: If there are no positions open, disreguard this section of the website.)
1. Become an Odyssian
Earn the minimum amount of points and be in the guild as long as necessary to become an Odyssian.
2. Neomail Ava
Ava is the leader, so she needs to choose if you will be on council. Answer five of these questions, any that you choose, and neomail them to her with the subject 'Running for Council'
What is your favorite color?
Why do you wish to be on council?
What is your favorite Neopet?
What position do you wish to hold?
What will you do once in "office"?
How long have you been in the guild?
Why are you the best choice for the position?
Who has inspired you to chace your dreams?
What is ten times four plus 7?
What have you done for the guild that makes you dedicated and responsible?
Will other people think you make a good council member? Why or why not? Be honest.
What is the best part of the guild?
What is the worst part of the guild?
3. Get ready!
If Ava thinks you would make a good council memeber, she'll put it up to a poll. You may not bribe people to vote for you! You may send neomails asking for a vote, but, in the neomail, you must say why you would make a good candidate. If you're really dedicated, you'll post on the boards why you would make a good member.
4. Wait
The poll will be up until everyone (with some discretion) has voted. If you get more yeses than nos, you will be put into office! If not, you must wait two weeks before trying again, to give someone else a chance. Only one person can run at a time, whether they are going for the same position or not.
NOTE: OPPOSITION
If you think you would be a better candidate than the one up for vote neomail Ava, do not harass the person running or anyone else in the guild. Doing so can get you suspended. When you neomail Ava, just say why you think you would be better, not why they would be bad. Of course, there will be some comparison in your neomail, but do not just trash the other person the whole time.
Being taken off council
If you break a guild rule, do something a council member shouldn't do, or do anything Ava deems unsavory, you will be removed from council. If you behave for an extended period, with no mishaps, she will reinstate you. NOTE: YOU CAN BE REPLACED IF YOU ARE DEMOTED AND SOMEONE ELSE RUNS.
If the offense is too bad, you may be taken off council
permanently or even removed from the guild.

Odyssey members to use! You can even get points! But here are some guidelines and help points to assist you in making graphics for
