The links on this page (except above) will open up in a new window. Don't panic - I figured it is easier to do that than have you flick back and forth from this page to the link page. It will only open up 1 window.

Bear with me ~ this is a work in progress by a computer illiterate person who is bored.
It's gonna be a bumpy ride.

As I was merrily playing Black Pawkeet Slots I realised there were no explanations of payouts. Just press the button
and watch your neopoints increase or decrease. So I started to write down the payouts certain combinations gave.
Being bored and wanting a challenge I have decided to try and put together this page.
I guess this is not so much a guide, but an explanation of payouts B.P.S. can pay, with a few added extra's.
If you notice anything wrong or you still have questions ~ feel free to mail me.
Note: If your age is under 13 or you do not have parental permission you cannot play this game.

The Jackpot
Right let's get this out of the way first ~ What wins the Jackpot?
5 Chests or a mixture of Chests and Flags (wild cards) in a line on a line you are betting.
While all the payout's on this page are from playing Maximum Bet, you don't need to bet that much to win the Jackpot.

The Neopian Times, Issue: 227:
On Brucey B slots, do you have to be playing on max bet in order to get the jackpot? ~knight_terror
No, none of the slot games require you to bet maximum to be eligible to win the jackpot. :)

Ok, so you don't have to bet Maximum Credits (450NP) per spin to win the Jackpot, however I would strongly advise playing all 9 lines (9NP per spin). To spin the Jackpot while playing 1 line, 1 credit and have them spin up on line 4
would be, well frustrating to say the least.

Jackpot Win Screenie
Congrats and Thank you twtkodiak for graciously letting me link to your page.

Playing The Game.

Important: All the Payouts you see listed are from playing Maximum Credits. Do this by pressing Max Bet button. Spending 450 NP per spin may seem a lot but the payouts can be worth it. I turn the sound off also.

Okay just Press Spin And Win. Seeing what you have won is easy ~ figuring out why you've won it can do your head in. Lines will appear to show you where you have won, a different colour for each line, and the pictures become animated.
By playing multiple lines you are not limited to one win per spin. By that I mean because you are playing 9 lines, theoretically you can win on all those 9 lines. I say theoretically because I haven't had the luck to do that.
Below is a win of 2 Tankards on Line 2, and again on Line 6.

The Jackpot amount has no bearing on what can be paid out. It was low when my niece was playing. The screenie
below shows what she won. It was well above the Jackpot amount, so just because the Jackpot amount is low
don't stop playing. NB: This is NOT a Jackpot win, but a good win nonetheless.

Thank you Dee for stopping so I could screenie lol *hugs*

Pawkeet Birds are now a Multiplier. However this is only paid out with a winning spin. When 3 or more Pawkeet
appear anywhere on your reels, 2 or more fly up and your win is Multiplied (the number flying up tells you what
your win is multiplied by). The screenie below shows a win of 2 Map pieces which is 50NP. With the 3 Pawkeet birds
this is Multiplied x 2 to 100NP.

Mini Game Is gone but don't worry, you can still win Dubloon coins.
Now when you spin 3, 4 or 5 Treasure Piles in a line OR scattered a bonus of 250, 500, 1000 NP are awarded.
Instead of the NP bonus Dubloons can be won randomly
Okay the message says 'Gold Dubloon' but before you pass out with excitement it's only a One Dubloon.

Chests are now Wild in all reels - with a catch.
Always wild in Reel 1
Wild in all other reels but must be preceeded by a Chest or a Flag.
Note in the screenie below 3 chests in Line 1 act as Wild, paying out for 4 Gold Coins
They did not pay out for the Bronze or Silver coin because the sequence of chests was broken.

The Black Pawkeet Flag is also Wild. This means it substitutes for everything but the Pawkeet Birds.
Neither the Chests or the Flag count towards scatter wins.

Is there a strategy to this game?

This may still aplly to new version...so I'll leave it for now.
  • In a word ~ Luck.
  • So far there's no hard and fast technique that I've learned myself or anyone has been able to tell me.
  • I've noted times I win large amounts, times the jackpot goes off, the amount - there is no pattern that I can see.
  • I've exited the game, refreshed the page and noticed no difference in payouts after doing so.
  • Also a couple of the high scorer's that mailed me said they keep their's open nearly all the time, as do I.
  • I have won 50,000 NP 4 times in 2 hours, but can go just as long without a decent win.
  • Personally I like to play when the jackpot is over 500,000 NP as I seem to get better payouts. However as I was posting those, other's said their's decreased.
  • Brings me back to it being a Game of Luck.

Remember: Chests and Flags do NOT count towards Scatter.

Treasure Pile:

Chest:
There is no payout for up to 4 Chests in a Line (excluding Wild payouts).
So 5 Chests should be the jackpot. A screenie will confirm this and I'm working hard on getting it LOL.
In the mean time here's a Jackpot Win Screenie
(Thanks again twtkodiak).

Update:

February, 2008.

The Neopian Times, Editorial, Issue: 330:
TNT Response: Cheaters. We had an issue with players using programs to abuse the slot machines. We have taken them down temporarily to fix the issue. We hope to have them back up soon. :) If you personally know anyone who bots the slot machines, feel free to give them a swift kick in the shin for us! ^_^

29th May 2009
Well that was over a year ago, but finally they are back. Revamped of course which meant panic mode for me.
The majority of the payouts remained the same with the exceptions of those below.

So this page is a guide for the old and new version of B.P.S.

So what's changed:

Winning big amounts often appears to be a lot harder with the new version. Ok the Daily Limit doesn't help, but there seems to be a lot more little payouts (under 5000 NP).

Jackpot:
It used to be Treasure Piles, now it's Chests (or a combo of Chests and Flags).

Mini Game:
Gone. Dubloons are won randomly with 3 or more Treasure Piles.

Daily Limit:
There is a (so far 250) daily spin limit. This will cost you 112,500 NP daily (without winnings). Ouch.
(thanks awbeewell for mailing me).

Ollie:
Ollie (a programmer) used to appear in the reels. He's moved to greener pastures.

Moving Reels:
Reels don't move up or down after spinning anymore.

Wild Cards
The AND the are wild.
So far I've been paid out when Chest appears on:
Reel 1
In any other Reel BUT there must be a Chest or Flag in every preceeding reel.
The Flag is Wild on all reels with a winning spin.
Neither of these wild cards count towards scatter wins.

is now a Multiplier.

are now paid as scattered and line.

The has been replaced with .

I Spy:

No more Ollie.

Here is an example of how different player's can have the exact same payout.
Both of us won 5 chests, and lines are identical.
Thanks steps90.

WALL OF SHAME:

I have spent many hours, and worked very hard at making this guide. I hope you have found it helpful.

Editorial quote from TNT: As most people are aware, stealing someone else's content is NOT allowed, and this is no different with code and layouts. If you feel your code has been stolen, report it using the theft form

At no time have I copied someone else's work for this page and I expect the same courtesy.
I will report you if I see you using my work without my permission.

Stealing someone else's hard work is about as low as you can get. On her pets page harrypotterfanatic33 says
There is a similar guide on Kyeps petpage there owner is claiming i stole there coding and information. NO I DID NOT.

LOL!! Linking directly to me wasn't such a smart move either.

harrypotterfanatic33 - Tsk tsk.
