RULES

I didn't think I needed a huge long rules section (and I don't particularly like having one) but some people seem unsure about what all "the drill" entails when it comes to my images. SO, just so we're all clear on adoptable rules: They are only for free use on certain terms. Please read through the section below and make sure that you don't intend to do anything that violates those conditions.

What you CAN do:
- Adopt a regular neopets color and put it on any page on neopets.com
- Ask for a custom trade of your design (only if they're open) then put that image on any page on neopets.com

What you CAN'T do:
- Edit any of the images in ANY way shape or form (pretty much copy/pasting them into an image editing program is already over the line)
- Adopt a custom that is not your design
- Remove the link back
- Allow someone else to edit them for you
- Claim them as your own
- Enter them in the BC, AG, or any other contest

Most of you are competent enough to use these, but for the few special cases out there, I felt it necessary to spell out the do's and dont's of adoptables. xD

General/Neopets Related Questions

How old are you?
Sixteen.

Can I have 'insert pet name here'?
OKAY I don't like getting this question, because most of the time people ask for my permies. =__=; But I do usually have a pet UFA, seeing as I zap/foster pound pets. I put my adoptees up here: FTW Adoptions. So any information you need about adopting my pets should be there. If you have additional questions after reading that page, go ahead and mail me on the account zekkyou.

Can I be your neofriend?
If we've chatted or something, sure n_n; But I don't really like random n00bish neofriend requests. u_u;

Will you code a layout for me?
NO, SORRY. u_u; Again, really busy...and besides, layouts are so much more rewarding when you make them yourself. xD; Feel free to ask me questions about my layouts though; I like helping. :3

How'd you get your pets?
Mostly adoption, I hand painted two, traded for a few. I'm really broke so you'd better believe I have no money for 4 mil paint brushes 8D;

Can we trade links?
Sure. n3n I like having new associates. Mail me for a link trade, but I generally only randomly trade links with same species, just so I won't have to edit all my pages. @3@ *lazy*

How long have you been on neo?
Four years now. @3@ Lost access to my oldest account, obviously.~

Can our pets fall in love?
Usually when I just get this question out of the blue, the answer is no. xD; Lots of my characters already have loves...and most of my characters won't fall in love with random people 8DD

Yeah I know, I do that alot. 8DD;; I'm extraordinarily forgetful; chances are, I read it, opened a tab to reply, then got distracted and forgot about it. |D If it's something urgent I'll usually get to it, but if it's been a while then just send it again. |D

What the heck is Wonderland, why is it private?
A guild. c: (Which means I can't join yours) and it's private becauseeeee...I have trust issues? |B

Art/writing questions

Did you draw/write/code that?
Generally, yes. xD; Believe it or not, this question is asked a lot and if it's on one of my pages, chances are, I drew/wrote/coded it. o3o; I'll make a deal about stating otherwise if it's not done by me.

What program do you use?
*Usually*, it's Photoshop Elements 7.0. I don't have anything else besides MSPaint and pencil/paper, so Elements handles all my animations, all my CG's, all my BC compressions..all of it. o3o It's actually quite a versatile program.

Do you have a dA?
Sure do :3 Clouded-3D.

How long have you been drawing?
Since I was like eighteen months old. o3o I doodled in the margins of everything since I was like in kindergarten; then I made an actual effort to get better when I was around eight...then when I was about ten I discovered anatomy...then when I was eleven I discovered neo, and I tried really hard to get better after that. So how long have I been drawing? Depends on what you count as "drawing". o3o;

Take any art classes?
Some here and there, but I've been homeschooled most of my life so I didn't have immediate access to art classes...I've learned most by trial and error. o3o

Do you use a tablet?
Yep, medium Wacom Intuos4. 8'D

Hey, how do you do *insert technique here*?
As much as I love to overly-complicate usually simple techniques by one (or a few) long, rambling, texterific neomails; usually I'll just conclude with "Consult the *ART SITE* for anything you need, there are great tutorials there and it's pretty much the biggest way I influenced my own style." Soyah O: _{OH, but if that's not good enough for you, I do plan on making a walkthroughtorial of my own one of these days; that image of Syn up at the top is a preview of the image I'm painting for it. :3}

Really? ;^; First of all thanks for drawing for me, and second of all it's not exactly a secret that I'm quite forgetful. 8D; In most cases I log in on my ipod or another computer and reply thanking you, then completely forget to update my pages once I have access to the code again. o3o; I mean the best, really I do. |D I just fail. So if it's been a while since you mailed me the first time, just send it again; it won't hurt. :D

Can I request adoptables/art/trades/etc from you?
NO NO NO. I'm busy enough as it is, if you want some art so badly keep checking back and ask me only when they're open. @-@

Can we roleplay?
Well at the moment I'm pretty rusty...let me get back into the swing of things and I'll get back to you ;o

What's the hardest thing and easiest thing for you to draw?
Easiest...quad profiles. 8D especially wolves/dogs, for some reason they're just fun. o3o Hardest would be...anthro/human faces. I can't get them right worth anything. @-@;

Are you planning on turning Thomason's story into a novel?
I am excited when this question is asked. ;3; ♥ And...I don't know if it will be a novel or not yet, but I certainly love Thomason to bits and would be EUPHORIC if his story were to ever get that far. I definitely plan on finishing it though; just keep checking back for updates. :3

How much time is spent on a normal BC entry?
Well time spent on the image really depends on the quality...I obsess over the BC though, so it's usually however long it takes to get something that I think will get manual votes easily xDD *brick'd* That usually takes...an average of two to three hours. o3o
Advertising...I try and get in At LEAST an hour/hour and a half of advertising in every day. @o@ Besides the time taken before the contest start shoving my preview in people's faces, fufufu. |D~~

Do you prefer Traditional or Digital art? Why?
I prefer...to work digitally. Why? Because it's the wave of the future 8D *kill'd* But I just...am more familiar with it, I suppose. xD~ I like the looks you can achieve with digital art...and besides, acrylic paints are majorly unlucky for me...not like you can spill digital white paint all over your black coat in the middle of a school day |D;~

How do you think up characters? What inspires you?
Characters are usually over-developed products of a snippet of scene or plotline that I'm inspired with..or a piece of art. I'm always inspired when I see pets UFA, something about the potential there...it's like a blank sheet of paper, there are so many possibilities. 8D
Take Vhele's story...I've always wanted a white zaff, so I decided to try and do some concept art and see what happened. I was drawing her with this cute little round face and big blue eyes...then I started listening to some creepy music, and suddenly she had slit pupils. xD My brain took that and ran with it, and all of a sudden there was a frightful demon hiding behind a pretty face. o3o The rest is just naturally thinking of the character as a person, how they'd react in given situations...etc. |D *rambles*

Does your mood affect your artwork?
EVERYTHING affects my artwork. ._. From the food I'm eating, music I'm listening to, time of day...my style will even vary depending on which character I'm drawing. xD~

...Can you draw with your feet?
u_u I only tried once with the tablet. What resulted was so stunning that the world couldn't handle it...my computer crashed, and the tablet pen spontaneously broke in half. I myself had my memory wiped of the mysterious work, but from what I can remember it looked something like the Mona Lisa meets The Scream. u___u *true story*

UFA Pets

Every now and then, my labrat gets zapped something awesome and I decide to adopt him/her out. O: _{Just so we're clear, the only pet that's ever up for adoption is my labrat/a former labrat, usually the pet wearing goggles on my account snares. All the rest of my pets are permies, so LEAVE THEM ALONE.}

I only "require" you to fill out the form, and I will "accept" the bare minimum; but I very much appreciate going above and beyond. How much or how little is up to you, but big effort scores big brownie points with me.

- Please don't send more than one mail if I've replied to you already. (The only exception would be a multiple-NM neomail application.)

Guidelines

- It's a great idea to give an example of whatever you plan to do with my pet.
For example, if your plans include art-related things, all I'd need is a simple sketch of the pet's future design to let me know that you mean what you say. c: What you give doesn't have to be your finest work or even close to it, I just want to know that you have some direction when it comes to my adoptee.

- Feel completely free to add, reword or remove sections in the application form.
As long as I get all the information requested in the form, I don't care how you word it. xD Essay form, list form, whatever; get creative.

- Feel even more free to put your work on a petpage!
Even if it's not a petpage application in that sense of the term, a petpage gives you far more room to be creative than a NM does. xD Besides, if you were planning on sending a long NM, it would be better to put it on a petpage so you don't have to send multiples :O
