My Journal! October 20th, 20th day of Collecting, Y7 3:19:35 pm NST
sunset So much has happened in the past few months, most exciting: Britt winning both the User Lookup and Gallery Spotlights. I also added some more links to my link section, so if you're interested in seeing some awesome pages, pay them a visit.

I have decided I probably will never get to finishing the "mag" section of my petpage, so it will most likely be deleted. However, I am planning on making an award to give out to stellar petpages, but I can't think of a design for the actual award yet.

XOXO Kula

sunset Once upon a time, in a land of happiness and joy . . . *trumpets sound* A messenger Techo dressed head to toe in purple velvet approaches a small alter, engulfed by a colossal auditorium. The crowd cheers with excitement. The microphone screeches, and the cheers come to a halt. The Techo shouts into the microphone: "ladies and gentlemen, neopets great and small . . .I now present to you, the fabulous, the beautiful, the most amazing Ixi in all Neopia….KULA!!!!!!" Applause booms through the stadium. Shouts of "Kula, Kula, Kula!", and even the cries of fans can be heard- Happy cries of course.

Ha-ha, okay so not really. That lovely intro up there- all fake. But hey, I had to get your attention; I had to make you think I was worth listening to. I guess it worked because it seems that you have continued to read my story. I may not be as famous as angry mobs, a theme song, or my own cereal, but I do have a tiny, miniscule, itty-bitty piece of fame in Neopia. And guess what? I'm going to tell you about this small portion of fame I call my life. That's right; it's your lucky day! But before we get into this fame story I thought I would start off by telling you a little about myself.

sunset I was born on a farm, and raised by a pack of wild Lupes. They taught me to hunt, and loved me like their own. HA- tricked you again. Okay, okay so really….I was born in Faerie Land- Where the buildings are made of light fluffy clouds, everything tastes sweet, and everyone travels by flight. I was born an orphan, alone and sad. Now don't cry! I realize it's hard not too, but you have to stay with me here. So, the exquisite faeries of Faerie Land adopted me. You are probably asking yourself: "There are faeries in Faerie Land?" And I am telling you, yes there are indeed faeries in Faerie Land. This would be the reason Faerie Land is named Faerie Land. Anyways, these faeries are not visible to the common tourist, such as yourself. They live in the outskirts of the palace, and are so fast that they are invisible to the visible eye. The faeries taught me to fly, dance, and sing. Wow this story is starting to pick up-he he. There was something very unique about my appearance. On my right wing I had two soft, pink, hibiscus flowers. Usually flowers need water and soil to grow, but these flowers were special; they never died or wilted. Thus, the fearies called me "The Hawaiian Ixi." Because I was an orphan, I knew nothing of my heritage or background, and have yet to discover the story behind my flowers. Anyways, the name stuck.

Although Faerie Land was my home, I was determined to find a family. The faeries were sad to see me go but they sent me off with their best wished, which included of hugs and faerie bonbons. I packed the few things I had, and flew off to the Neopian Orphanage to find a family. Some might say the Neopian Orphanage is a horrible place. I state otherwise. Sure all the neopets in the Orphanage have been abandoned, but the staff at the Neopian Orphanage is outstanding. There is a hot tub, reading lounge, gourmet café, exercising facility, and the lists goes on. When you visit the orphanage you only see a small portion of what really goes on. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense. The reason there are so many neopets in the orphanage is because none of them want to leave, they love it there. Of course when the perfect owner does come around, they do find it in themselves to leave, and that's exactly what happened to me.

sunset She came into the Ixi section, and was looking at an orange Ixi named Saber. When ever a possible owner would come in, all the neopets would perk up, and look their best. I sat in the corner watching Saber make a fool of himself. I always found the selection process humorous, it was indeed a show. Suddenly, this girl glanced back at me. She walked over. I looked her up and down, she seemed sufficient, she seemed kind, she seemed stylish. Stylish? Yes, you heard me right, style is very important to me! So anyways, the next words that came out of this girl's mouth were: "I'll take this one." And there you have it; I had my very own family. It was a small one, but at least it was my own. This girl I speak of does have a name! Her name is Britt. At that time I was nameless, but soon after Britt adopted me she gave me the name Kulaika. Kulaika is pretty much a made up Hawaiian name. It doesn't have a Hawaiian meaning, but it does have a Hawaiian sound, so it suites me well. My nickname then became Kula. So there you have it! That's how I came to live with Britt (kalaelou). I suppose you would like to hear of my fame? Well what are you waiting for . . . read on . . .

Neopia is HUGE, vast, and empty! Actually, thousands and thousands of Neopians and neopets call Neopia home. Wow that was a lot of "neo" in a row, almost like a tongue twister. Say "Neopians Neopets Neopia" really fast. BACK ON TRACK! So, because Neopia is so large, sometimes it is hard to stand out. There are plenty of custom Ixis, and I often felt ordinary. And who wants to be ordinary? Not me! I wanted to be extraordinary!! Any chance I had to stand out, I took: Beauty Contests, Art Gallery, Guild Mascot, even honorary Poogle racer cheerleader. Despite my efforts, I still wasn't famous.

sunset Then one stormy night in October . . .*thunder* *lightning flash* *thunder* (Oooh scary). . . everything changed. Britt was on the computer and she . . . And she . . . she . . . she bought airplane tickets to NEW YORK! And guess what? She invited me to go with her. I had never been outside Neopia, and she thought New York would be a suiting first vacation. So a month later we were off to the Big Apple. There was a slight hold-up at the airport. How was I supposed to know bringing my metal coin collection would be a bad idea? When we finally arrived at New York I was immediately offered a fake designer purse, and lost in the crowds. No worries though, Britt found me instantly. There may have been a lot of people in New York, but there were not a lot of Ixis; I stuck out like a Christmas elf. Everywhere we went people pointed and stared. I loved the attention, and took pride in my difference. But, like all great vacations, our trip came to an end. Okay, so I suppose you are wondering what this trip to New York has to do with my fame. Well as a matter of fact it wasn't the trip itself, but rather the flight home. I was sitting in my seat munching on a bag of assorted pretzels and cheese snacks (oddly enough, they don't serve peanuts anymore, so I've been told) when I became extremely, utterly, and totally bored. At that moment Britt handed me the magazine she was reading. I flipped through the pages glancing at the latest human trends and fashions. When it hit me like a pound of Elephantes. *light bulb* I would create a magazine!

Kula's Mag (KM) would be a magazine about my life, my friends, my trends. It seemed so simple, but it would take patience, something I didn't have. But I knew if I wanted to stand out, I would have to learn patience. Slowly I began to design and build my first issue. To my surprise it was a huge success. Bill boards swept the land, and the fan-mail started pouring in. To this day, Kula's Mag is still up and running. And because you were so kind to listen to my story you get backstage access to my latest issue. So shoo shoo . . . and don't forget to tell your friends to come and visit! This magazine wouldn't be a success without the readers and fans!!
The End

This little spunky polarchuck is my petpet Dot. He is my second petpet, the first was given away due to a biting problem. Dots name is appropriate to his love for dip-and-dots. Although Dot is painted fearie, he is indeed a he. Who's to say males can't be painted faerie? Dot also puts up with my girlie antics. He hates it, but I just think he looks so cute in heart sunglasses!

sunset

Koh is my baby sister, literally. She may be small in size but her attitude and spunk outweigh her smallness. Koh is the owner of her own Salon (Kohlare's Salon), along with her pink Faellie Pearl. Koh was Britt's first pet so of course she's spoiled rotten, but I guess I can't talk. Koh is also the battler of the family; if I were you I wouldn't mess with this little bunny!

sunset

Kay is my plushie brother. Kay wasn't always plushie, originally he was striped, but I think plushie suits him well. Kay is a bit on the shy side, but has always been a good listener. Usually he just glares at me, he thinks I talk too much and that I'm too girly- I have no idea where he got that from! Personally I think Kay is just shy because he tries to pull off the whole innocent thing.

sunset

Snow is a spunky pink Aisha. The reason Snow and I are such good friends is because we have something big in common- we are both stars! Snow is a famous movie star actress, and she even has a star below her ear. I don't get to see Snow very often because she is always traveling, but that's what keeps our friendship strong.
