About This Page

You've stumbled upon, by accident or not, an informal introduction to the guild Fickle Cranberry Feathers. This page is based on questions that the leaders (coolkatzwer and chica471) have been asked or think would be asked about the guild and includes Sarah's semi-personal answers to the questions. If what you want to know isn't on this page, feel free to neomail her or one of the other leaders. Who knows? Maybe your question will end up being added to this page!

We have two different pages for you to read. This page (The FAQ is the basic info about FCF in the form of question and answer with the leader. If you're more interested in the story-telling/roleplaying thing, then the first encounter page may be more your style. If you'd like to check that page out, there is a link in the navigation to the right. The first encounter page also has a lot more information then this, so take your pick, or read both. If you want even more information, neomail a member or look at the webbie and pages on the portal.

A Little About Us

Established on January 1, 2008, Fickle Cranberry Feathers, or FCF for short, is a private, literate, neorelated guild! Whether you're looking for adventure, friendship, or maybe something else, I'm sure you'll be able to find that gem in our guild. We offer activities for every type of person; whether you're creative, logical, artistic, or other mind-sets, I'm sure we'll have something for you!

Fickle Cranberry Feathers? 0_o;

Yeah, what is with that strange name? Well, there seems to be a shortage of original neorelated names out there, so the founder, Arie, was flipping through a dictionary and found "feathers". Her favourite colour happened to be cranberry red, and "fickle" just worked. So, there you have Fickle Cranberry Feathers. It happens to be the perfect name -- just a little wacky, not exactly neorelated, and, to a certain extent, random, just like the guild is sure to be: any gathering of literate users on Neopets is sure to get a little goofy; FCF won't ever be totally neorelated because we all have other interests too; and random because change is good at FCF.

What are rules like in FCF?

These rules are also posted on the webbie to make sure that they're followed; these don't change once you've been accepted into the guild. They're simple and just plain common sense, so of course violating them will have consequences.
1. Be literate! This means no chatspeak or excessively repeated spelling and grammar mistakes, capitalizing proper nouns and the first letter of every sentence, and using appropriate punctuation such as periods and commas when they apply. We don't mind the occasional typo or common abbreviation (such as "brb", "gtg", or "lol").
2. No spam. It's just icky. Spam means: Short, pointless, annoying messages. I could go on and on about how much this annoys not only me, but a lot of other people as well. However, I'll leave you to read the specifics on the guild's weebie if you're interested.
3. Be courteous. Don't insult people, don't swear, etc. Simple stuff.
4. This one's big: If you have an issue with another member of the guild, take it to a council or subcouncil member! DO NOT fight on the guild message boards, or Wins will eat you. (XD)
5. Be active. We're not asking you to be on every day, oh no! But we will periodically delete inactive members, that is, members who have not been seen within the guild for a month and three days+. If you plan on being gone for longer than that and will come back, neomail Wins so that she doesn't delete you.
6. Don't join on more than one account. There's no reason to have two accounts in the guild other than to get extra benefits for yourself, and we won't allow that.
7. All of Neopets' rules apply within the guild. This should go without saying, but sometimes we all need a little reminder.

As we mentioned before, breaking these rules will have consequences varying in severity according to the offense. For a complete list of these, visit the weebie.

How do you rank up?

FCF decided that it would not use it's ranks for the purposes of teams. There are three teams in FCF (Crimson Dust, Snickercherry, and Raspberry Solo.) When you join the guild, we encourage you to pick a team, even if there isn't a plot active at the time. During plots, only members on teams can participate. The rank Cranberry Love will be reserved for sub-council members only.

How do I get in?

To get into FCF, you first need to complete an interview with a someone on the Cranberry Committee (member/invitation committee). Don't worry! As intimidating as that sounds, they're really all very nice people and won't bite. It's a simple process, too:
First, read all of this page, including the rules and make sure that FCF is the guild for you. If not, why not take a look at some of our allies?
Next, request an interview by neomailing one of the committee members with your name and ask for an interview. (Or, if you happen to be on a guild board with one of those people, you could just ask them on the board.)
You can then complete the interview over neomail or the guild boards, whichever you prefer.
If all goes well and you get accepted into FCF, you'll be sent an invite! Now, if you decide that you don't want to join for any reason, that's fine too; you're not obligated in any way to join once you've gone through your interview.
Now you're probably wondering what the interview will be like. Very simply put, all we want to know is whether you'll fit into the guild comfortably and if you meet our only 'friendly and literate' requirement. The interviewer will ask questions, but it should generally just be a relaxed conversation.
Of course, we have some tips to offer you so that you have a better chance of getting accepted:
1. Be literate! FCF is a literacy-based guild, and all of its members are aware of how to properly use the English language. Of course, occasional mistakes are understandable, but if the interviewer can't understand what you're trying to say, you won't be accepted.
2. Be polite. Obviously, we don't want people who are obnoxiously rude in our guild.
3. Don't be afraid to talk about yourself. Try to answer each question in more than one sentence, or at least a longer sentence. But please, let us get a word in, too. =3
4. Don't try to trick your way into the guild. This includes bribery, lying, or anything else that could be seen as manipulative behaviour. Just be yourself.

The following are Cranberry Committee members and you can neomail them (by clicking on their names) with questions about the guild, or for an interview. Please do remember that all of us are busy, so we may not get to you right away. Don't panic; we're not ignoring you!
