I hear a tiny voice, singing a strange song. I never heard this song before, but it sounds sad and happy at the same time; it almost hypnotises me.

The one thing I can count on

My Fairweather Friend..

I slowly walk towards the voice, trying to make no noise as I step upon the ground. It's Autumn, and the earth is buried with dry leaves, rustling as I step on them. The voice suddenly stops. I hear water ripple. I'm thirsty and decide to walk ahead fastly.
When I walk through the last bushes, I see a scene that could've been from a fairytale. A small river, rippling quietly, makes his way through fresh green grassland. And on a rock on the riverside sits a small creature, her fur pink as the small flowers that grow everywhere. That must've been the source of the singing, I think, and I gently approach the creature.
I make too much noise. The small being looks up, and I see that her eyes are just as pink as her fur. The eyes look scared.
Yokailo Don't be afraid…
Koite *stares scared to you*
I decide to try and talk to the creature.
Yokailo Who are you, little one?
Koite Koite..
Her voice is soft, but I hear that this was definitely the being who was singing.
Yokailo Do you like to sing?
Koite looks even more afraid.
Koite I-I do li-ike singing..
I smile friendly, but Koite still looks to me with big, scared eyes.
Yokailo You don't have to be afraid, little one. I'm not going to hurt you.
Koite keeps looking at me, but now the eyes seem to get wet. I lay a gentle hand on the being's head, and I feel the small body starts to shake, trying to hold back its tears.
Yokailo What happened?
Koite I.. I..
She can't stop crying. The warm, salty tears drip onto the rock and almost immediatly evaporate in the hot sunlight.
Yokail Sshh... It's okay.. I'm not going to hurt you..
I try to comfort her, and after a while Koite stops crying. Still sobbing she looks up to me.
Koite Thank you..
Yokailo You don't have to thank me. Don't you want to go home?
The creature seems to be a bit young to be outside alone, but she almost starts to cry again.
Koite N-no..
Yokailo Where is your family?
Koite They.. They abadoned me.. They said anyone could come and take me.. They even tried to /trade/ me for another pet.. I..
Koite starts to cry again. I soothe her and sit next to her on the rock
Yokailo Why would they do that?

I look at this small creature, furry and pink with brown. Her eyes are of the most amazing color pink you can imagine, and she has a small face that would look so beautiful when she would be smiling. I decide.

The Family

Her eyes seem to brighten, but they immediately turn sad again.

I shake my head and begin to tell.

Makori is the oldest member of the family. She is a kind Xweetok, basic but irreplaceable. Her simple, red color might once become striped; purple and white are beautiful colors, both of them, and I - and Makori, too - think it's the most beautiful combination.
Rickamiro is a special guy. He is a bit moody, but wise and he says he got his wisdom from Coltzan himself; Makori always laughs about him and says he's old-fashioned, but Rickamiro doesn't care. He knows what he knows, he says what he says and who am I to blow against the wind?
Sporkleadra is a brother of Rickamiro. He doesn't act like one, though. He loves to play around and is very fussy about his looks; it's almost like he's a girl. He likes to dress up and also likes to try the eyeliner of Makori - she doesn't mind. {You didn't think those black lines were real, right?}
He loves his Snowbunny like nothing else in the world. Sporkie is the newest addition to our family, and I have to thank biskee for being so kind to give him to me.
Yokailo is the mother of all those pets. Though not the biological mother, she loves all those pets as if they were her own kids. Only Rickamiro wasn't created by her. She loves thinking of new, beautiful names with nice meanings for pets to give away or trade for other pets, trying to make people happy and at the same time get her own dreampets.

Koite stares at the pets, all smiling happily at her.
Makori Hi, little one. Holland's a nice place, you know. It's a little cold, maybe, but there are also nice and warm days. No wild animals to be afraid of; you'll be safe there.

Koite stares, almost impolitely, at Makori's kind smile, Rickamiro's wise eyes and Sporkle's perfectly groomed scales. After that, she looks at me, with big, sparkling eyes.

At home

When we came home, I gave Koite some time to get used to my house. While she's roaming the house, I have some time to tell you, guest, more about me and Koite.

Koite Did I hear my name?
Yokailo I was just going to tell guest more about you. You can play with your crayons, if you want.
Koite smiles happily and takes her yellow crayon. I tenderly watch her drawing. You cough politely.

She likes:
♥ Drawing: She's a very creative Xweetok. Although she's very young, she likes to draw rainbows and flowers.
♥ Purple: It's her favourit color. Most flowers she draws are purple, and the purple line of the rainbow is always the biggest.
♥ Makori: Koite thinks of Makori as a mother, sistr and friend. She can talk with Makori, but also play and sometimes fight her.
♥ Books: Rickamiro doesn't play, but he does read aloud to her. She can't read herself, yet, but she does like to sit on his tail - which he curls around until it is a kind of chair - and look at the pictures.
♥ Water: There is a little river, just around the corner of her house, and sometimes we hear her singing this song, about her friend being there for her, unless she needs him. We just let her sing, soothe her when she comes back, but never disturb her during the singing. She might become the shy, depressed Koite she was before.

She dislikes:
♥ People who talk too much: They always end up talking about her parents. She doesn't like talking about whether or not she considers me and my pets as family, and whether or not she knows who her real family is. She doesn't really care any more. ♥

FAQ

Q: What are your plans for Koite?
A: Well, as I said in the application; I probably won't groom her with clothes. She'll be a pure Xweetok; but probably she will have a background. I still have to think of one that would suit her the best, as I don't have NC, but she probably will have one.
I would give her a petpet, probably a Spyder, to play with. Maybe, after I bought the striped paintbrush for Makori, I can start saving for a Hopso, as I think they match Koite's color very good. A Babyca would be cool, too.

Q: Why are you the best owner?
A: To be honest; before I started making this application I couldn't have answered this question. Now, after I made this, my plans got shape and I got really attached to Koite, this poor pink Xweetok, all alone on a rock, singing a lonely song.. I'm also very much online on Neopets - so much that my parents start worrying about my health - so she would get all the attention she needs.
Also, she wouldn't be traded right after I got the avatar; I know how that works. Avatarpets can be traded very easily, but I won't trade her. She'll be my permanent pet.

Q: There are some grammar mistakes in your application.. Why?
A: That's because I'm Dutch. I'm very sorry if there are mistakes; just send me a NM with the mistake - and (if possible) the way it should be - and I'll change it as soon as possible. I don't want you to get annoyed by the many grammar mistakes.

Q: On which account would Koite be?
A: That's a very difficult question I don't know yet as well. Nythera is my oldest account and has the most avatars, but Rickamiro is difficult to transfer; if you transfer a pet, only the clothes of the color the pet currently is go with him. As Rickamiro wears Islandclothes, but actually is a Desert Hissi, it's difficult to transfer him. So I'm making Meralla my new main.

Q: Then why is the application on Sigune?
A: That's the old version of the application, with mistakes in it. Please, forget that one and consider this my real application (:
