It had been
quite a while since she had been out on her own. Her whole life revolved around
her family... brothers, nieces, nephews, children... mate...
But her life had
been shattered, and all she had now was her hope for a better future, and her
family to hang onto... well... almost all of her family.

LOST HER WAY
A summary of
life
Kohoti's whole life revolved
around family. As a fledgling, it was just her, her beloved brother Krakesam,
and her adoptive mother, Albi. Life was peaceful, and she was content with how
everything had fallen into place. Though as she grew, she realized how important
it was to go off on her own and start anew.
Even though she and her brother
decided to stay with Albi throughout their lives, they all lived separately,
while still together. Krakesam had found love early, and he married his beloved
Tiki, quickly starting a family of his own. Through his hardships, Kohoti
learned what it was like to be a mother; helping to care for his three childrern
as Tiki left the family during the night.
Kohoti continued to help raise
Krake's family, even after Tiki returned a year later. She was enthralled with
the idea of motherhood, and loved her niece and nephews as if they were her own.
She dreamed of starting her own family... the only problem was that she couldn't
seem to find a mate.
Even after Skandrakkon, her
second brother, came into the picture, Kohoti was left the loner. Skan found the
love of his life in Tiki's sister, Leena... but Kohoti was still alone. Once
again, she watched as her brother had a wonderful family, a wonderful life,
while she hadn't even begun.
Kohoti's emotions got the best
of her, and she quickly slipped into depression. It was easy for her to fake a
smile in front of the kids, sure... it even became easy to put on the act in
front of her brothers and sister-in-laws... but once alone, Kohoti broke down.
The truth had set in; she just wasn't meant to find anyone.
Years past, and Kohoti realized
that perhaps she were the reason her life just wouldn't go in the direction she
wanted it to. Being a Rainbow Wing meant she had a task to complete before she
could gain control of her own life... unfortunately, that goal were to destroy
the hundred year curse that had plagued the Rainbow Wing breed. This curse,
though, was formidable as a foe, and wasn't something Kohoti wanted to deal with
on her own. She wasn't willing to risk her life in an attempt to destroy
something which could just as easily destroy her or her family members. So she
ignored the calling, and continued on her quest to find someone of her own to
branch off with.
A year later, Whyck stumbled
into her life. Although both of her brothers urged her not to find trust in the
stranger, Kohoti went off to get to know him better. Soon enough, the two fell
in love. Kohoti was finally at peace with herself.
Her life had seemed to change
direction, 180 degrees. The couple soon adopted a little girl from the Darigan
region; saving her thieving way of life to bring her home with them. It was not
even a year later that Kohoti found out she'd be expecting much more then her
adopted little girl.
Unfortunately, although Kohoti
were in full health, and had managed to lay a clutch of 5 eggs, an unusually
large and unheard of amount for a Rainbow Wing, only one of them ended up
hatching. Crushed as Kohoti was as she realized her dreams of a large family
just wouldn't be, she adored the little baby boy she had to share with Whyck.
Her daughter, now grown into the family, became very close to her brother, and
everything seemed well.
Her happy life continued on for
a full year and some odd months. Though she were not officially mated to Whyck
like her brother's had to their mates, Kohoti was happy with her life. She
finally had someone to love, and her family would be sure to grow in the future.
Though it didn't seem to be in their cards, Kohoti and Whyck would continue to
try for more... if they had to, Kohoti was willing to adopt, just as she had
with her little girl.
But it ended swiftly. Kohoti's
dreams were pulled down into that void of depression as Whyck slowly disappeared
from her life.
Though she loved Whyck dearly,
and wanted to be with him constantly, it seemed the male Eyrie still had a job
to do within his old forgotten Flock. He made frequent visits there, and soon
enough, Kohoti noticed she was spending more time alone then she was with the
love of her life. Though her son didn't notice, due to his young age and
infatuation with his sister, their daughter, Omyr, was struck hard. She adored
her father, and Whyck was especially drawn to her... but it was ending, and
Kohoti could sense it.
Around Valentines day of 2008,
Kohoti made the decision to leave her mate to try again. She just couldn't
handle the fact that he was never around. She needed someone to help her keep
her life in order... to help her raise her kids properly. Whyck just couldn't
seem to supply that; and so she left with her brothers to start anew... to find
a new home, make new friends, and hopefully pull herself back from the brink of
depression.

FAMILY
Kohoti is very family oriented,
as are her brothers. Rainbow Wings, through generations, had always been
tight-knit flocks. Although her family is large, Kohoti loves each and every one
of them.

My beloved brother.
He is the youngest of us three, but he began the trip to adulthood, so much
faster then we did. I love him dearly, and can easily say he is the most
matured of us. He cares deeply for his children, as I do. He is a very
passionate being, and I only wish I could be half as caring as he is. It
used to break my heart to watch him give those loving glances to his mate, Tiki... I longed to have someone look at me that way. Unfortunately, his
life has been stirred around as mine has, we we've both wound up alone in
the end. 4 years he lasted... 4 long, wonderful years... |

My dear
brother, Skan. He's the second oldest of our three, but is certainly younger
at heart then Krakesam or I. He's our comic relief, the glue that holds us
together... I was skeptic at first, when he came into our lives; but he
saved us, in more ways then one. I'm glad he's here for us. He followed
Krake into the world of love, marrying with Leena, Tiki's sister... it was a
beautiful relationship, and the two were truly meant for each other... but
it ended so roughly. It was 2 years this Valentines Day but... I
believe it's over now, just after their anniversary. A sad ending it is, and I
send my love for him, and support him in his ways. It'll be rough for him,
just as it will for me, raising his three girls. |

 |
Poor, dear, Roami.
He is my brother, Krake's, son, and looks so much like his mother. His
personality, too, runs after her own ways. I do fear for him... as we were
explaining our leave, he decided to stay behind with his mother... I do
trust that he'll make the right decision, and I know he's well old enough to
make it on his own if need be but... I just hope it's what's right for
him... I hope he will be happy without us. He had always been the odd-one
out with his siblings, but it made him no less special to me or his father.
I will truly miss having him around, and I hope he comes to visit his
siblings and I; we are his family after all. |
|
The second brother
of Krake's three... He has always been the shy one, but such a sweetheart.
Unlike the rest of the family, Roama has never bothered venturing far from
his home to find friends, or possible love... I believe his shy nature just
doesn't allow it. Last I heard, he had a close friend in a female he met out
in the forest one day... I wonder how that relationship will be with us
moving; I'd hate for him to loose the only friend he's ever had. I know he
seems happy with us and his sister, of which he is especially close to
but... he needs to branch out and find a friend or two to confide in as
well... we all can't be around forever. |

 |
Mmm, our little
Sosa. Though she is the same age as her siblings, she's always been thought
of as the youngest of the three... perhaps because of her sweet, innocent
nature. I love her dearly, I really do. She's the complete opposite of her
twin, Roama; very upfront and bold in her actions... very friendly and
cheerful. She's not at all shy. From what we know, she's got many friends
lurking out in the forest and mountains, where she's traveled. She has grown
a large amount in the past year, though; becoming a very matured, very
refined young lady. I just hope the loss of her mother in her life won't
affect her... she seemed to be pretty well bonded to her mother, and was the
first one to warm up to her arrival after her original disappearance... |
|
Gigi is Skan's
adopted daughter... well, the first of two. She's always been the tomboy of
the bunch... a complete opposite of her sister. It was funny; all us girls
in the family acted like, well, girls; until Gigi came along, that is. She
was always rough playing with Roami when she was little... so perhaps that's
where she got the bold attitude. She's a tough cookie, this one, and I think
she'll hold up well with the change. Even though her adoptive mother is
gone, she hasn't shown too much pain from it... though she has always been
closer to Skan, so maybe that helps. I'm certainly glad she's around with
us, though; I'm just not sure Leena would have been able to handle her
upfront ways... She's a lot like Roami in that aspect; perhaps it's why I
feel so comfortable with her. |
 |
|
Zori is the second of Skan's
two adopted daughters. She's the much calmer of the two, and is very
interested in nature; unlike her sister whom would rather play fight. She
always got along well with both Roama and Sosa... perhaps that's a good
thing: they could all confide in one another if needed. Zori was closer to
her mother then Gigi was, which worries me... I'd hate for her to have a
broken heart because of the move but... well, she's got Roama to talk to,
and has been keeping busy with exploring our new home. The only thing we
have to watch for with her is her quick temper... if something were to
deeply upset her, I'm afraid she may loose control of her relationship with
her father... |
|
Kyna is the fourth daughter of Skan, but one of the few kids that are
actually his. This little one happens to be from Skan's second clutch,
though her egg was the only one that hatched. She's very cute and sweet;
quite the mothering type. Oddly enough, she reminds me a lot of Sosa. It's
funny, too, because her sisters Zori and Gigi both get along very well with
her, even though they fight amongst themselves all the time. It's almost as
if little Kyna is the peace-keeper. She had a pretty nice relationship with
her mother, and I'm surprised she came along with us willingly... I believe
it may be because her sisters followed along, but I'm happy she's with us,
either way. |

 |
My own adopted daughter. I
found her while taking a trip through Meridell with
Whyck. At the time, she was homeless, and had begun her life as a thief in
order to get the food she needed to survive. It broke my heart, it really
did. Although she can have quite the attitude sometimes, she's really warmed
up to me, now. I don't think she'll admit it, but I believe she's truly
thankful that I took her in. I know that I'm thankful to have her. I had
wanted children for so long, and she was my first... and even though she
isn't my blood daughter, I love her like she were. I'm just so sorry that I
had to pull her away from her father. She hates it when I try to control her
life, and she was very close to Whyck... one of those "Daddy's little girl"
relationships... but he just isn't around enough, and I can't rely on him to
be there for Omyr when she needs it. I just hope I didn't hurt her too much
with the move... |
|
My son, and currently the only
birth child I have. I must say, Xymn is the biggest goofball we have in the
family. He's very playful and sweet, and he absolutely adores his sister, Omyr. If he had the chance, I'm sure he'd just follow Omyr around all day.
It's funny, but even with his energy level, he loves to be routine...
perhaps that trait came from me. Anyhow, he's a little fluffy bundle of joy. Even
though he was close to his father, I think Xymn somehow knew that Omyr was
the one with the special relationship, there, because he never fought for
attention. Even now with the move, he seems pretty content because his
sister is around for him. I don't think I'll have a problem with him.. in
fact, I'm starting to believe that if I up and left, he'd be fine without me
as long as Omyr were there! |

CONVERSATIONS
I... I can't even find
words to explain how I feel right now... Just know that I'll always need you.
Krake... it was a
wonderful relationship while it lasted; you should be proud of that.
Skan, I'm so sorry... I
never thought it would end between you and Leena.
I thought you had come
back for good but... I suppose not... please take good care of Roami; he needs
you.
You've matured so much
since you first came to find us, I was almost sure you and Skan would be able to
work things out...
