Pocket OtakuPocket Otaku is a private, literate guild based off all aspects of anime, manga and varied Asian Culture. Created in late 2004 by a lost Neopian named Dark and his friend Night, Pocket has blossomed into something similar to a home. Since March of 2005, we have been providing Neopets users with a variety of activities, custom made graphics, music requests and a loving family for you to become part of. Whether your interests lay in InuYasha or To Heart!, or whether you adore DBSK or you think that's just a bunch of letters, we have our doors open for you!Although we pride ourselves on having some of the most unique content, what makes Pocket Otaku really sparkle is the diversity of members. Pocketiers, as we've so affectionately named them, are the core of the guild. They range in age from ten to thirty five, and come from all over the globe. Languages, interests and opinions differ greatly, but that's part of what makes Pocket Otaku different. Though our numbers are large and our conversations range over all genres, we hope to stay as close and loving as we always have. Pocket strives to show all other guilds that it IS possible to have a successful, original, caring, literate guild.

pocket otaku's areasPocket Otaku is often labled an anime guild... And indeed we are! However, we also have a hand in Asian Multimeda. This means that a large extent of our guild pertains to art, movies, music, varied graphics forms, writing and even roleplaying. We even include Neopets, for those who don't know everything about Asian Culture. Our random, {and sometimes silly} conversations lead to all sorts of fun, and it helps us get to know one another. Whether you'd like to talk about your day, the new Neopets plot or how to make a Christmas roast, the Pocketiers are on at all times of the day to accomodate you. We are more than willing to try new things, talk about new subjects and experience anything that you can bring to Pocket Otaku.
what pocket can offerPocket Otaku is an amazing guild, offering members anything their hearts could desire. We currently hold over 55 activities, ranging from Trivia to an Adoption Agency to something new called Bracket Wars! We have fan-art, so members can display their graphic talents, as well as fan-fiction for a writing display. Pocket has even enabled an activity called a Guild Plot, in which all Pocketiers were welcome to participate and be written into the story, as well as dissecting the clues in each Plot Installment. We are in the midst of our second plot - but it's not too late to participate!We offer a literate safe-haven that won't shut down at the end of summer, or any other time of the year. We've existed for more than three years on active Council and dedicated members. However, you can contribute too, even if you aren't Council! We love posting, activity participants, and graphics contributed by our members. Anything given is recieved with graciousness.

This also applies to posting one word messages, and messages with no point.
goalsPocket Otaku has been around a while. Our goal is to spread knowledge - that older guilds are just as good, if not better than newer ones. Therefore, we don't want a billion members for the simple fact that you get ignored. We pride ourselves on activeness and originality, not prizes and who is more popular. Because we are considered a "larger" guild, you may be intimidated by us. Please don't! We respect and address every member at all times. Pocket also accepts all ideas with Activity Submission forms, and will always enjoy layouts made by members.We don't have posting requirements, and yet still remain the most active Anime Guild on Neopets with over 250,000+ posts {even if Neo seems to delete them}. However, we DO NOT like spam. Spam is considered one word posts, or posts that have no relevance. We also delete members regularly in what we call a "member-clean out". You must have logged in and have posted at least one message every 21 days. {Or three weeks.} We do make exceptions if you're on vacation, your computer is broken, you're on Hiatus for school or you're

pocket otaku is privateYes, Pocket Otaku is a private, application only guild. We went private to ensure literacy, to avoid theft in any manner {content included}, and to give Pocket Otaku the family feel we so enjoy.Our maximum member limit has increased to 110. That sounds like alot, doesn't it? But despite the size, we remain close-knit and even produced a "family tree". Most members have their name in their signatures too, so you don't get lost and confused. If we have any more than 110 members, an immediate member clean-out will ensue. {Certain exceptions may be made.} We love our close knit-community, and so we enforce these rules. If you are not accepted because of the member limit, please wait and submit on a later date. Hopefully you can be one of us! =D
pocket otaku has questionsPocket Otaku has gotten many questions in the past. So to answer a few, they're posted here;Q.Is Pocket one of those snobby and elitist guilds? A.Goodness no! We all have typos. We all have problems. We all have specific likes and dislikes, and won't judge you by them. We do however, ask that you have tolerance for others' likes and dislikes and/or typos. :3 Q.You have such a large guild... A.Yes, we are a larger guild, but that isn't a reason to see us as intimidating! We're very active, chatty and would love for you to contribute anything to our conversations. When making a post for the Guild Board, just type a hello and hop into the conversation. Q.Your application is too long! A.The application for Pocket Otaku may seem daunting at first, but once you get going - it's a breeze! Alot of people say they have trouble knowing what to type. If you are such a person, send in a story. Make something up if you're in a bind. We accept most anything. Q.Do you allow side accounts? A.Yes. We do, as long as you're active on it and don't neglect your Pocket duties! More about this is explained in our rules section. We like to see you too, you know! Q.Are you mature? Over 16? A.Our ages range on a large scale... From about ten to thirty. That doesn't mean we're not mature, because most of us aren't adults. Maturity isn't based on age, but on how you present yourself. Please don't get me wrong, though! We all love randomness, funky ideas and crazy conversations just as much as the next person. =D Q.But I like NR Guilds! A.Well, that's okay! We do too! Pocket Otaku discusses all sorts of things, especially NR matters with excitement. We love new avatars. We love plot prizes. We love new pets. As long as you don't mind a few non-NR graphics, you'll fit in quite well. Q.But I like to roleplay! A.Sp dp we! Many, many Pocketiers have roleplaying pages, so just take a look around or ask someone if you're interested in a specific roleplay. We also have two forums with all genres of roleplaying if you'd prefer a group roleplay, rather than a one x one. Q.You said something about art earlier? A.Yes. I did. Many of Pocket's activities are art-based. We also take great pride in our graphics, and love to share drawings, poems, stories and more with each other. =D Q.Well.... I wanna make a layout for Pocket. A.That's fine by me! We love layouts from members as long as they're approved by Darkjaganshi__ and follow a few specific criteria. {Criteria can be obtained through a NeoMail to Dark.}
pocket otaku's applicationPlease fill this out if you'd like to apply for Pocket Otaku. APPLICATIONS MUST BE 4,000+ CHARACTERS OR MORE TO BE ACCEPTED. Most applications accepted are approximately four Neomails in length. If you don't think you can type 4,000+ characters, then find another way to express the application. Pocket Otaku WILL accept murals, fanfiction about the guild {if you'd like to make something up}, pixel drawings, poems, lists or anything else creative. Applications may also be hosted on Petpages for your convienience. Don't be frightened by the length. It's really not all that much. =DClick For An Example Application.
