KoM History!
During the Altador Cup I, Grand Master Mystic formed the Knights of Meridell public board, one group of about three or four Meridellian others.The Altador Cup II came, and none of the previous groups survived. At this moment, the Knights of Meridell assumed full authority over the Meridellian people. The Knights of Meridell also claims, that since being the only group to survive the First Altador Cup, they were the first Meridellian group.
Trouble came when a new group was formed by a Knight of Meridell. Lady Megan, with a friend, created the Meridell All-Knighter group. Since this group was not approved by the Grand Master, he declared them Invalid Knights. With two Meridellian groups came disunity. A rivalry erupted between the two groups and much strife was caused.
Between the Second Altador Cup and the Third Altador Cup (the exact date is unknown and forgotten, however, the welcome banner for the Council was created on March 27th, 2008), the Grand Master formed the Council for the Advancement of Meridellian Unity. Due to a struggle between negotiations and mutual respect, the Council failed to begin and was abandoned. Soon after the Edict of Disunity (exact creation date unknown) was created. This edict gave Knights of Meridell no rights to communicate with the Meridell All Knighters. After some discussions, the Grand Master declared the Edict of Disunity null and void on April 4th, 2008. Unfortunately, the edict's actual text was not recorded in history.
After the Altador Cup III started, the Knights of Meridell struggled to avoid the Meridell All-Knighters and vice versa to avoid conflict during the Cup. After much discussion with the Sir Amanoel of the Meridell All-Knighters, the Grand Master decide to declare the Meridell All-Knighters under the Valid Knighthood. He chose July 30th, the day of the Discovery of Meridell, as the official date of their Validity. By declaring them Valid, he gave Lady Lime and Lady Megan (the equivalent leaders of the Meridell All-Knighters) one Skarl Royal Crown to symbolize that Meridellians are now united under one crown.
Customs of the KoM!
The following procedure is the ONLY acceptable and valid creation of a KoM public board. Anyone is granted the ability to make the board, but all must yield to those of higher authority. This means, whoever has the highest authority in the board decides who makes the new board. Boards should be placed in the Plot Board or the Virtupets Board if a Plot Board does not exist.

Extra Customs
Here are a few of our customs. Please remember, these customs are ancient and will rarely be changed. You are a guest in our boards so RESPECT and PARTAKE in OUR customs.- All males are 'Sir' and all females are 'Lady' UNLESS they have an Bestowed Title.
For example; Sir Charles, Grand Master Mystic, Lady Hersey, Mastress Mid. - If the Grand Master enters the board, or you enter the board and see that the Grand Master is already present, you are to greet him properly. If he happens to leave while you are present or you happen to leave before him you are to retire (exit) properly.

The Hail Skarl
The Hail Skarl is one of our oldest customs. It was introduced during the Altador Cup I. Basically, we hail our king. If one enters or leaves or randomly says, "Hail Skarl!" then all who read just repeat the same thing. It's a simple way to boost morale among the crowds.The Order!
The Order, or the Order of the Knights of Meridell is our awesome guild. It's a nifty Neo-Related guild with pretty sweet events! If it is public, just join us! If it is private, you should try chatting at the Knights of Meridell board for about a month. If we are ever private we are ALWAYS public during the Altador Cup and each December.
We have a lot of fun at the Order. We have picnics, activities, and we celebrate holidays so all members can have fun! We help each other with plots, tips on games, and more! We are home of the best jousters in all of Neopia! Come join us!

Principles of the KoM!
The Grand Master
The Grand Master is the highest possible position of the Order of the Knights of Meridell. He holds absolute power within all desicions of the Order. This means he has the ability to enact edicts, appoint Masters, change customs, etc. All Knights of Meridell pledge obedience to the Code of the Order and full obedience to the Grand Master.
Some sobriquets of the Grand Master are as follows:
Absolute Supremacy, Grand Master, Grand Master Mystic, Founder of Knighthood, etc.
Customs
The Knights of Meridell take customs very seriously. If you come to OUR boards, we expect and ask kindly for you to follow OUR customs. It is very rude, Knight of Meridell or not, to ignore our customs. For instance, it is dishonorable to refuse to call one without recognizing their title.Masters
The Grand Master has enabled a law that states only nine (9) Masters may be present. A Master is a Guardian of the Knights of Meridell. If the Grand Master disappears or resigns, he may appoint his successor. If he does not choose his successor then the Masters will organize a vote between the other Masters to vote for who will take over. Masters also have the authority to appoint other Masters without the permission of the Grand Master. However, it is most respectable to have the Grand Master's approval. The most common way of becoming Master is by being appointed by the Grand Master.

The Knights of Meridell are the oldest Meridell support group. It's not mystery that we date back to the Altador Cup. Valid Knights are:- A Knight of Meridell
- A Meridell support group that recognizes the authority of the Grand Master
- A Meridell support group that the Grand Master offically accepts as dating back to the ACI
Invalid Knights are knights that do not reach the requirements. Of course, they still are Meridellian, but they are apart of the Invalid Knighthood. Is this a bad thing? Yes and no. Yes, Invalid Knights create Meridellian disunity. No, they are still loyal Meridellians. The Knights of Meridell frowns upon all Invalid Knight groups.
Lastly, the Grand Master wishes to unite the Knights of Meridell with all Knight to restore Meridellian Unity.
Edicts & Laws
Here are all the official edicts and laws of the Knights of Meridell. All edicts and laws that are no in the KoMHQ are considered null and void.
Edcit of Disunity (date unknown)
The Edict of Disunity was declared null and void by the Grand Master on the 4th of April, 2008.
The Validity of the Meridell All-Knighters (July 30th, 2008)
After experiencing over a year of rejection by the Knights of Meridell, the Meridell All-Knighters have proved themselves worthy of Validity through their loyalty to Meridell and Her King, zealous in times of defending their homeland, and eager to show Neopia that Meridell is the best during the Altador Cup.Although the dream was to unite groups, not boards - the common misinterpretation - under one ruler, the Grand Master, can not be fulfilled, it is accepted that the Knights of Meridell and Meridell All-Knighters are two Valid groups of Knights that are united together, but seperate.
Together it is hoped that we will work together to provide a safe haven for Meridellians at all times, expand the glorious name and ways of the Meridellian people throughout Neopia, and come together as one common and lukewarm Meridellian family.
Hence forward, on this day - the Discovery of Meridell - I, Grand Master Mystic, declare the Meridell All-Knighters apart of the Valid Knighthood. The Knights of Meridell will officially recognize the Meridell All-Knighters as its own entity and is positive that their leaders, Lady Lime and Lady Megan, will guide Meridellians on the right path - that to peace and joy.
To conclude, such actions would not be possible with the courageous efforts of Sir Amanoel and his dedication to Meridell and the welfare of all Merillians.

May I join the Order?
Sure, just fill in Application A16, turn it into the Office of Admissions on the highest peak of Terror Mountain and collect Application 15661-CZ9T and turn that in the hottest place in Lost Desert (1650 miles away from water) and collect Application 254460-QURTZ and turn it into the KoMHQ.
Or, you can be active with the KoM for about a month or so.
Why all these titles and ranks and such?
A true Meridellian knows that ranks and titles represent one's honor and dignity.
What are the items on the header banner?
Skarls Crown, Sword of Meridell, Skarls Sceptre, Skarls Flag, Jerans Shield.
I've noticed you said Master and Grand Master quite a few times, but there is a section for Mastresses. Is there are difference?
Yes and no. The term Grand Master can also mean Grand Mastress, Master for male and Mastress for female. When it says "Master" you can read it like "Master/Mastress" because they are the same thing. It's just that typing it out would take a longer time. ;-) No, we're not lazy, we just don't like to do a lot of work.
Why *bow/curtsey* to the Grand Master?
The Grand Master founded the first Meridell support group. It is just a way to show respect for all he went through and all the work he has done to unite Meridellians. It's simply a respectful thing to do and a polite thing to do. If you are a guest of a Knights of Meridell board, you will be frowned upon for not respecting our customs. So, next time you enter our boards, before you stand strong and boastful, remember that you are a guest at the Board of the Grand Master.
