Hey there! So, you're Number 12, eh? On routine inspection? Is that so..? Well nice of you to join me!
Me? Oh. I'm Number 74 of course! Or you can call me Kisua if you'd like. We're going to be traveling about 3 galaxy lengths so you're in for a long ride. No worries though - you have me! hahahahaha. Ahem. Well, let's get moving then!

WOAH! WATCH OUT!
phew
That was a close one!
What..the... Is that - is that a Mortog?!
WHAT!? points out the window
That's Pollux the star wraith! I don't usually see him out on my patrols....and he's grown. He's starting to become dangerous... I shall make a note of it in my logs
Good job, 12! Planet Z3! Home sweet home! Now, that wasn't so bad, was it?
nudge nudge
Let's prepare our arrival gear and deplane. I'll show you around.

Welcome to Planet Z3!

So... what do you think? It's pretty nice, isn't it? I'm stationed out here alone most of the time. Every so often we get a visitor.

We? Aha. Planet Z3 is a relatively calm planet. At least... from what I've been able to gather in the past year or so. It's mostly inhabited by Scriblets!

shoves Scriblet in your face
THIS is my pet Scriblet, Bob. They can be pretty pesky. But Bob is different. I uh... don't think there's regulation against keeping pets on our assigned planets, is there? laughs weakly

Most of my role consists of gathering data about the surrounding galaxy and to explore parts of Planet Z3. Although we have a small portion of the Northern region settled, I have yet to venture into the Southern regions. That's the primary objective my my second deployment here.

Is it dangerous? No, no, not at all. The Empire's readings of the planet don't show any signs of intelligent life so we're pretty sure that the primary inhabitants are Scriblets. Though it would be pretty awesome if Z3 was home to some humungous space beast with 6 inch fangs. eyes begin to glaze over

Oh no! Don't be frightened! The readings are about 85% accurate so you have nothing to worry about! While you're here with us, I might as well tell you a little bit more about myself, no?

The path to becoming a space patroller is not an easy one. Not only is the training program mentally and physically straining, The Empire only approves those with Tier 1 Mental States for travel. Why is this necessary? Space patrollers travel alone for extended periods of time and have little social interaction. They are also frequently placed under severe stress. The typical neopet is not well suited for these conditions.

But for Kisua, the decision was an easy one. Her undying loyalty to the Empire, coupled with her insatiable passion for Space made her the perfect candidate for space travel. Kisua sacrificed 5 years of her life for The Program, She is also the creator of the Antennae and Tail Add-on Replacement (ATAR) program. She was the 74th Number sent out into space and one of the 50 currently active agents.

Kisua may act very young sometimes, but she is very serious about her job. She is constantly looking to increase efficiency by tinkering with her ship, and her Add-ons. Confronted with danger, Kisua is also unparalleled in her ability to think and act quickly. This has proved to be useful in numerous occasions

Ausik

Ausik is actually a standard issue Scout Unit. They are assigned to space patrollers to aid them in their daily tasks. The video feed from the Scout Units are especially useful for exploring unknown terrain

Scout Units have outdated technology and are difficult to maneuver. Kisua uses Ausik only to follow protocol but in all honesty, hates it.

Story

Prologue

The floor was cold against her feet, but the looming arched ceilings and metal columns did not frighten here. It was her first time at The Empire HQ and it was everything that she had every dreamed of. Ever since Kisua was a young aisha, she had heard stories about The Empire before bed. Her father was a scientist there and filled her mind with wonder. It was with that wonder that she had come here today to apply for The Program to become a Space Patroller.

The Empire was established nearly 1000 years past, by the long reigning family of benevolent Shoyru. The royal family was always honest and just - for their primary goal was to keep peace over their network of galaxies. So rare, it was, to find such great rulers and Kisua felt it to be the utmost honor to serve them. For they had treated her father well in his passing days...

After all, it was her destiny to be a space patroller. And she knew that it was time for her to join the ranks

Part 1

Kisua awkwardly adjusted her space suit. It was tight in all the strangest places and her breath fogged up the glass of her helmet. ugh, i wish i didn't have to wear this darn suit! Despite her grumbling, Kisua was more than ready to get started. She looked around her and saw Neopets of all shapes and sizes. She noted with amusement that there was an over abundance of grundos. typical, she thought, with a roll of her eyes. One by one, they filed into the space pod

As the engines rumbled to life, Kisua closed her eyes. She wasn't nervous. No. She was just... excited. She had been in The Program for nearly two years now and this was going to her first real trip into space. She was part of Class 5 out of a total of 10 Classes. Although 99 other Neopets had signed up with her, after just two years, the number had dwindled down to 32. If the training at HQ was tough, she could hardly imagine how difficult the space training would be. She strapped herself in tightly, peering over the shoulder of the Ogrin in front of her. She was ready

They were here! After 3 hours of jittering about in space, they were finally at the space station. Not everyone had faired very well on the trip, but Kisua was raring to go. As soon as the doors were lowered, she bolted out into the loading bay. She was met with floor to ceiling windows, and past those windows.... was space. Pitch black with faint glittering stars in the distance. She couldn't believe she was here!

She and her class mates filed into a small storage room and waited for the instructor to begin speaking. "Welcome, to Virtupets Space Station. Here, you will begin Phase 2 of your training. First and foremost, we will be distributing your Scout Units. These Units are going to be your companions throughout your deployments and they are absolutely essential to your research!

Kisua excitedly received her Scout Unit package and tried not to obliterate the box as she tore through the packaging. It looks fantastic! The shiny aluminum glinted under the lamps and Kisua ran a finger along the array of buttons on the remote control. I'll call you Ausik. Let's ace our training together, okay?
