Kioshna

Kioshna is the daughter of a Estella Stjärna, the Goddess of the Stars. Her mother fell in love with Krixen Arenn, a well respected advisor to the Faerie Queen, under the stars one warm summer night. Some have said that she tricked him into falling in love with her, using her powers, and some even say that she bewitched the stars to sing songs of love to the young advisor. Either way, the love was fleeting, and Estella and Krixen only lived together for a few short years before she left him. In that time, however, Estella gave birth to Kioshna. Krixen cared for his daughter during her childhood, and loved her dearly. He was an intelligent man and he tutored Kioshna extensively, passing on his love of knowledge to her. Kioshna was a spunky, spirited, rather wild young girl – hardly the quiet, studious type, but she found excitement and comfort in books. When she grew older, Kioshna become an apprentice to the Head Librarian in Faerieland, where she currently works and studies.

While Kioshna takes after her father in many ways, she is also very similar to her mother, though she may deny it. Estella and Kioshna are both persuasive and rather stubborn women. They are passionate and loving, and while Estella may be thousands of years older than her daughter and thus have more experience, Kioshna is a very intelligent shoyru.

Kioshna loves to read.

She's a part-time student and takes classes at the University. Her favourite courses are in gender studies, psychology and history. She also enjoys musical history, but she isn't very good at it.

Kioshna enjoys many Neopian books. For her studies she read A book entitled The Founder, a Neopian classic, as well as Garon the Great, which she found disappointing. She read The Dark Peophin, a shallow but thrilling tale. Recently she read The Shadowy Shoyru, a modern dystopian tale. One of her favourite books is Princess Vyssas Diary, a feminist tale of an independent princess.

She also enjoys many other books. She's currently reading Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter and Simone de Beauvoir's The Mandarins. She recently read and very much enjoyed Brave New World. Some of her favourite books are The Picture of Dorian Gray, Pride and Prejudice, and The Penelopiad.

Krixen Arenn is Kioshna's father. He was born to a middle class family in Faerieland, his mother a professor at the University and his father a banker. Krixen followed his mother's interests; he loved to read and study. Knowledge was his joy. He excelled at Neopian History and History of Faerieland, as well as political studies. As a young man in his twenties, Krixen became a junior adviser to Queen Fyora.

Krixen is a sensitive, kind man. He grew up with his three sister, and they taught him to be a chivalrous gentleman. Women gravitate to him, in search of a friend or something more. He is happy to be friends, but rarely looks for anything more. The last time he let his heart get away from him was with Stella. He was in his early thirties; she, a goddess, was thousands of years old. Together they had their daughter, Kioshna, but Stella left when Kioshna was a young girl. Krixen was heartbroken, but scars fade; now, twenty years later, he know it was good that they parted.

Estella Laila Stjärna is Kioshna's mother. Estella is the Goddess of the Stars. She creates and destroys and moves the stars around the sky. Stella takes the humanity that people produce – the love, the hate, the passion, the desire, the fear, the hope – and turns them into glowing, pulsating stars. She spends her nights under the clear sky or flying above the clouds on dark nights or even dissolved in the very sky itself. In the day, she tends to hide, or even disappear altogether. Stella is not the first Goddess of the Stars; she is, in fact, the third.

Stella met Krixen one warm summer night, during a ball that was thrown by Queen Fyora. She fell in love immediately. Either way, the love was fleeting, and Estella and Krixen only lived together for a few short years before she left him.

Cinnamon is an owner and caregiver in Neopia. She lives in Brightval, but she cares for between seven and fifteen pets at any given time, so she is often boarding with her pets instead of at home. She cares for six permanent pets and as many as seven foster pets, who she zaps and finds new homes for, as well as her pet guinea pig. Cinnamon enjoys baking, drawing, reading, writing, dressing up in pretty clothes, dancing and hanging out with her friends. She loves her schoolwork (she's in her last year of high school) and her volunteer work at a local theatre and a local charity thrift store.

Cinnamon has been a caregiver for Kioshna since Kioshna was a baby. Kioshna was, in fact, Cinnamon's first pet. Cinnamon has been there for Kioshna through all her embarrassing years of adolescence (including the gold and disco paint jobs) and is proud to see how happy and successful Kioshna is today. Kioshna and Cinnamon enjoy having girl's nights together, going out dancing or staying home and painting toenails while watching chick flicks.

Mahikah is the owner and barista of Mahikah's Coffee Shop. She lives on top of her shop on 12th and Katcheek Avenue in Neopian Central, but she was born in a town between Meridell and Brightvale. Mahikah fell in love there, but her heart was broken and she fled her home. She ended up as a street urchin in Neopian Central, where she fell ill in the winter and near died. She was saved by an angel, but Mahi has a terminal illness, and her life will be short.

Kioshna and Mahikah became friends through their common caregiver. Kioshna loved Mahikah, but Mahi broke her heart. Kioshna has mixed feelings for Mahikah, a mixture of love and intense dislike/hurt.

Vitiyha is a brown xweetok, and another one of Cinnamon's pets. She is young, only sixteen years old. She is a shy, timid girl and few people or pets know her well. She lost her family at a young age, when she was kidnapped and sold, but eventually found a good owner who found her a home. Vi is a wanderer, and spends little time with her adopted family or anyone else. She likes to stay in the forest; she finds a peacefulness there. She also enjoys hot chocolate, reading by the fire, and writing poetry.

Kioshna and Vitiyha see each other rarely, despite their relationship as adopted sisters. When they do see each other, their personalities are not very compatible; Kioshna is outgoing and spirited, Vitiyha is shy and quiet.

Garantho Angelus Marx is an angel. His true form is a Christmas Zafara, though he tends to shift his shape. He is a strong, mature, trusting individual. But his role as an angel pains him, for it is a role of great responsibility. He saves people; he brings them back from the brink of death and despair, and gives them another chance. He grants second chances. He himself was granted a second chance, hundreds of years ago in his youth, though he doesn't talk about it. His past pains him more than others know, for not even angels are perfect.

Kioshna loathes Garan as the force that stole Mahikah from her. He is apologetic but unmoving on Mahikah's decision, and she finds his attitude pretentious and irritating. The two are adoptive siblings, but they avoid each other.

Sarah Aminora is a warrior lupess. She lives in Maraqua, protecting and guarding it as a member of King Kelpbeard's Royal Army. Sarah's lupe pack has lived in Maraqua for generations, since before the ruin of the first City of Maraqua. Her pack remained in the Ruins, protecting their abandoned city, and Sarah was trained to be a fierce warrior. As a pup, she prepared for the day where Maraqua would be restored, and she was joyous when that day came. Sarah is an independant, reckless, fierce lupess.

Sarah is the newest member of Cinnamon's family. Kioshna and Sarah get along well; Kioshna admires her strength, and Sarah finds Kioshna's carefree and perky nature enjoyable. The two are similar in their independence and flirty nature, but also very different so they often argue. But they also enjoy frivolous and petty enjoyments together, like going out dancing on girl's nights with Cinnamon.
