Welcome to the introductory page for the wonderful animanga/gaming and Studio Ghibli guild, Aozora
. This page offers supplementary information to what the guild webbie provides, as well as additional information that potential and new members should know.
Please read the following information carefully to avoid asking questions that are answered here!

the joining process
Interested in joining? Please make sure you meet all our requirements first before proceeding.
Have a nice, legible font.
By this, we mean having a dark neoHTML (like black or gray)
in a font face that's easy to read (common choices are Verdana, Arial, and Tahoma). Of course, you're free to do whatever you want with your signature, but we do
ask that you keep your font as legible as possible.
Have your name or preferred nickname somewhere on your lookup or Neoboard font. This would help current members and newcomers to learn your name quickly. We'd hate to get your name wrong!
In order to make sure prospective members have looked over the guild rules and policies, we require people who are interested in joining to complete a quiz. Make sure you read the webbie thoroughly before attempting to complete the quiz! In addition to completing the quiz, applicants must submit the magic word to the designated guild owner (you can only find the magic word if you have read the webbie carefully!).
The link to the application is under the navigation to your left.
On top of that, we highly encourage you to chat with us on our ad board! It's a great way for us to get to know prospective members, and we encourage you to ask any questions you may have about Aozora, as well as get to know some of our members! This isn't meant to be an interview; simply be yourself. We look forward to meeting you!
Due to what we feel is an abuse of our system, individuals will only be allowed to receive two
invitations to the guild within a six-month period. This relates to being removed from the guild for any reason, be it being swept for inactivity or voluntarily leaving.
So you've joined Aozora! Now what?
For starters, it'd be a good idea to take another look at the guild's rules and policies. Members are expected to be familiar with them so that there are no surprises later on. Council members are there to help in any way they can, but they will not answer anything that has already been addressed on our webbie or introductory page.
Secondly, introduce yourself to the guild! New members have twenty-four hours after their join date to post some sort of introductory message at the guild. All new members should have at least twenty-five posts by the end of their first week in Aozora or risk being swept from the guild.
Finally, make sure you enable guild mailings! Council will sometimes make important announcements regarding the state of the guild, and we'd hate for you to miss them!
To enable guild mailings, go to: My Account, then click on Preferences. From there you should see a page with the option to enable guild mailings. Make sure you have that box checked!
frequently asked questions
Do you allow side accounts?
Yes, we do! However, Aozora is not the place to let your account collect dust.
Please only join on a side account if it's an active one!
How active is the guild?
We are most active during the summer months when we have people online during all hours of the day. During the school year, we're most active after 2 PM NST, although it's common to find the odd member online earlier in the day. Overall, we're a really chatty bunch; there's almost always someone else online_ It definitely helps that our council members live in a variety of different timezones, as well.
What is the age range of the members?
Most of us are in high school or college (or finished with college). The majority of the guild is 16+, and we have a nice mix of mature younger members and immature older members.
I'm not an avid anime watcher or much of a gamer, although I've watched some titles. Would that alienate me from conversations in the guild?
Of course not! We have a good mix of people in the guild, from seasoned anime lovers and avid gamers to those who simply enjoy watching anime from time to time and casual gamers. Think of Aozora as a place where people can rant and cry over series they love and hate, as well as a place where newbie gamers and those who don't watch a whole lot of anime can get recommendations. Of course, as stated earlier, Aozora is a heavily chat-based guild and conversations will vary. Contrary to what some people believe, we don't just talk about animanga all day.
