Romalotti sat on the wooden floor of his Sensei's dojo, meditating. He was trying to look for an answer. Bad things were coming. There had been signs in recent months, and these terrible things were fast approaching. He could feel it.
Suddenly, he could hear someone shouting his name, getting closer….
Romalotti-san, I have terrible news. It's been confirmed that there's a plot to kidnap Princess Kazerein.
Sensei Kyo burst through the door, and stood in front of Romalotti, bowing. He didn't want to have to look him in the eye when telling the bad news. Romalotti let out a sigh of defeat. Sensei, what else do you know? He asked urgently while getting up on his feet. He turned toward the wall.
Someone by the name of Ravalotti has been assigned the task. It is said he will be taking her up to Darigan Citadel. It is still unknown why this is.
Romalotti clenched his jaw, and his fist tightened the slightest bit. Ravalotti... he muttered through his teeth.
Do you know him? Sensei Kyo asked, standing up straight. Romalotti was silent for a moment, looking out through the glass.
Then quietly, he replied. No...I don't know him.

The Story of My Life
My brother. My irritating, infuriating twin brother. He's the one who's going to try to kidnap the Princess. sigh
We used to be best friends when we were little, but as we grew, I developed a passion for martial arts, and the ways of Shenkuu. My brother on the other hand, was loyal to our homeland, Darigan Citadel, and was all about weapons, fighting, and war. I had told Ravalotti that I never wanted to see him again, after we had this disasterous fight. My people weren't happy with the things I was learning, and my ways about doing things. My family had had enough, and we got into that fight that caused me to leave home. But I believe their ways are wrong, and now it's going to affect all of Neopia if something isn't done about it. It looks like I'm the one who's going to have to stop this before it turns into an all-out war.
I told Kyo-sensei that I was going to have to find Princess Kazerein, and guard her from Ravalotti. I was one of the best ninja's in all of Shenkuu, so Kyo-sensei agreed that I should be the one to protect her. The whereabouts of the Princess were generally unknown to the public, so of course, I went to the palace first. One of the guards told me she was taken to a special garden, not far from the palace. Thankfully, the guards knew me from a previous issue at the palace, and trusted me.
I walked up the long, winding and narrow dirt pathway in the outskirts of Shenkuu, leading to the special garden. I thought about how any army or villain after any member of the Royal family would have a hard time making it to the garden, and then realized that was the point.
As I continued to climb, I looked down at Shenkuu, and saw Darigan fleets, and soldiers approach the city. Oh no....
I mumbled in horror. Why are you doing this?!
I thought angrily. I had to concentrate though. My mission was to protect the Princess at all costs, not fighting DC with Shenkuu. I thought about how Shenkuu is riddled with ninja's and samurai's, which helped calm me a bit. Even though they weren't my people by birth, they were truly my people. My friends. My family. They care about more than just their selfish selves, and they just had to make it out alright.
Before long, I had reached the garden, hidden between two very large walls of rock. The small way through the rock, was blocked by guards. Hey, Romalotti!
said one of the guards, by the name of Cudo. He was big guy, a green Skeith. What are you doing all the way up here?Kyo-sensei and I agreed that it would be best if I was Princess Kazerein's personal guard. Though, it's really up to you as to whether you would let me.
Cudo looked at the other guards, they all nodded in approval. We trust you, Roma. And you know Princess Kazerein trusts you as well. If you believe this is absolutely necessary-Oh, it is. Trust me. Shenkuu's already being invaded as we speak. I believe it's a cover up while they try to go after the Princess.
The guards looked concerned and angry at this new news. You better get inside then. Torx, go alert the other guards of the change of events please.
I walked into the villa with Torx. He was a quiet, and lanky. I tried to make conversation with him. So, you're from Roo Island, right?Yep,
he replied swiftly. That merry-go-round made me leave though. That music was driving me batty.
I snickered. That music was pretty annoying, I don't see how the RI population can stand it 24/7, personally.
We approached the door at the end of the long hall, and Torx knocked a odd rythm. One of the guards inside opened the door just enough for his head to peak through.Romalotti is here as the Princess' personal guard. We believe his presence is necessary.
Come right in then, sir.
The unfamiliar guard said.
The door opened, and inside were two other guards, and Princess Kazerein. Her face lit up when she saw me.Romalotti!
She grinned. It's so nice to see you again!Like-wise, Princess. I only wish the times were less dire.
I smiled slightly.So do I...
Her smile faded.May I ask you something?
she nodded.Do you know why DC is trying to kidnap you, Princess?I'm afraid I do not. We've been trying to figure out why they're attacking Shenkuu at all, and yet we've come up with nothing. It's just very fortunate that it was found out that there was a plot to kidnap me.Well don't worry, I'll make sure nothing happens to you. You have my word as a gentleman...and a ninja. Whichever makes you feel safe.
Princess Kazerein giggled. Now that you're here...
she started, maybe that's enough to convince the other guards to let me leave this room. Maybe explore the garden awhile. If there's one thing I hate most, it's being locked up inside a room for extended lengths of time.
I managed to get the guards to let her out, for a very brief amount of time. But that was just what she needed. As she walked through the garden, she came alive. She seemed to really love nature, especially the little animals and flowers.Sometimes,
she started speaking, her grin fading away. Sometimes I wish I wasn't Princess. That I was just Kazerein, free to do whatever I wish. I'd travel the world, if I could. Instead, when I do travel, it's purely for business. I never get to enjoy the sights, the people, or nature. And now with this invasion, and DC's plans for me, I don't know...I just, I just wish I was normal. But you're not normal, Princess Kazerein, you're royalty. Your people depend on you. Please, just call me Kazerein. And yes, that's the one thing that makes all of this bearable. After this ordeal is over, how about we try to plan a nice vacation for you. I'm sure someone in your family can take care of your responsibilities while you're away. Even royalty need vacations. Actually, they probably need it more than anyone else! I could take you, and we can see the whole world. How does that sound? That sounds wonderful. Alright, after this is all over, just you, myself, and the world.
