So, you want to know what rules you should follow to apply for a pet in my agency eh? Well, you've come to the right spot!

All together, there are (at the moment) 6 rules. You should read all these rules very carefully. They're here for a reason, and not following them means extra work for me.

Also, before you neomail me with a question, please check the FAQ, maybe your question is already answered there. I won't answer any questions that are already in the FAQ =)

Well, all of this being said, I suggest you continue to the rules themselves. I've also included some handy-dandy tips for you on this page, so be sure to check them out!

Rules for adoption:

Make sure you include the answers to this questionnaire in your application. Answers can be filled out under each question, or included in the body of your text.

~ List all of your accounts:
~ Which account will the pet live on?
~ Tell me a bit more about you. In real life, on neopets, ... you choose!
~ Tell me a bit more about at least 1 of your current neopets. There's no maximum, though
~ Why you should be chosen as the pet's new owner?
~ Why do you want this pet? What are your plans for him/her?
NeoMail and PetPage application are both accepted. Applications that are very short, spammy or over-use chat speak are not and will be simply deleted. Petpage apps should include a note that the application was made of your own free will. This is for the safety of both mine ánd your account(s).

You must include TNO's Pledge of Good Ownership somewhere within your application:

If I am chosen, I, your name, pledge to be the best owner I can be for my new Neopet, pet's name. I understand all the sadness that he/she has already been through, and so I will provide everything he/she needs to be happy. I promise to be a friend to my new Neopet and never put pet's name through the pain of neglect or abandonment again.
After sending in your application, wait for a reply. The list in the agency will be updated with accepted applicants. If you don't receive a reply within 7 days, then you can neomail me again. We all make mistakes!
Your account should be at least 4 months old at the moment of transfer.
Post "How troublesome..." somewhere in your application, so I know you read these rules.

Well, that's pretty much all there is to it. If you're still interested, you can take a look at the available pets here, and after that you can neomail me your application. Remember that I only consider mails sent to my foster-side; MJ_1991!

Answers to frequently asked questions

Q: Can I neomail you?
A: Neomailing is OK for chatting and information, but not to ask if I've picked an owner yet. The agency page is updated frequently with accepted and rejected applicant names.

Q: Do I need to fill out an application or something?
A: Yes you do.

Q: Do you prefer neomail or petpage applications?
A: I don't have a preference whatsoever, partly because TNT doesn't allow us to. I strongly recommend a petpage app, however: that way I only need to bookmark a page, and you can work on your application or add things even after you've submitted it (do so before the deadline though!). You can also put more into a petpage app than into a neomail app, like more text, art, poetry, etc… And of course that gives you a better chance. But you won't get extra credit, just because your application is on a petpage, so feel free to do a neomail application if you don't feel like doing a petpage one ;)

Q: I want to do a petpage application, but I don't know HTML, can you help me?
A: I, personally, can't, 'cause I'm rubbish at HTML and CSS myself (every page you might stumble upon that looks like it's mine, was actually made by a friend).
BUT there are some GREAT HTML-guides out there that might help you: here is one, here is another one and here is a list of some more helpful pages..

Q: Can I use a premade layout for my petpage application?
A: Of course it's a bonus if you can make your own, but you're free to use a premade as well. Just give credit where credit is due. Heres a list of great premades (NOTE: I'm not sure if all are adapted to the new coding TNT has introduced).

Q: What do you expect in an application?
A: The main thing I'm looking for, is the proof that you'll be a good owner for my pet. This can be in any form: entering him/her in the BC, battledoming, roleplaying, or simply keeping him/her happy. So whatever you're planning to do with the pet, make sure you make it clear in the application, preferably with proof! For example, if you're planning to draw the pet, add a drawing in your application.

Q: Are there rules I should follow? Where can I find them?
A: They're right on this page ;)

Q: Do I need to contact you before applying?
A: You don't have to, but if you want to you can.

Q: Can you change the pet's gender?
A: Yes. If you're chosen as the new owner, I'll contact you to ask what gander you'd like your new pet to be.

Q: Can you give me an extension?
A: If necessary, I will give you an extension on a deadline. If requesting an extension, include the pet's name and approximately how long you'll need. A reason for the extension is very much appreciated, but not necessary.

Q: Why did you reject my application?
A: I reserve the right to reject your application at all times. This may seem harsh, but I'll never reject anyone without a good reason. You are free to ask me what made me reject you, and even politely discuss it with me if you think it's a misunderstanding. Don't, however, try to change my mind.

Q: How do you transfer pets?
A: I only transfer pets using the transfer option, not through the pound, no discussion. Don't panic if you already used your transfer, we'll look into it together. However, please do everything you can to accept the pet within the 72-hour window. If you reject the transfer, you will be disqualified. Important: If you reject the transfer for any reason, you will be disqualified and the pet will go to another owner.

Q: Can I trade the pet later?
A: NO. You are adopting with the understanding that your adopted pet should never be traded.

Q: I no longer want my pet, what do I do?
A: If you no longer want a pet that you adopted from me, I expect it to be returned, not placed up for adoption, abandoned, traded, or given away.

Some good advice

Okay, some good advice if you're planning on applying for a pet:

Don't make the rules scare you: it may seem a whole lot to take into account, but this is just a way for me to make it easier to look through the applications ànd to find decent owners that really want the pet for who he or she is.
I strongly advise you to check my Adoption Agency Page regularly:
1. Any updates on the pet will be posted there, along with the deadlines.
2. It does happen that I lose an application (for example if neopets cleans my mailbox again...). If something like that happens, I'll ask the person whose application I lost to contact me again on that page.
3. If I want to fix or change a deadline, don't expect me to neomail you: it will only be posted on that page.
If you made a petpage application, keep it online until the pet has found a new owner. If your application isn't online when I'm choosing a new owner, you will be immediately canceled out (auwch...).

I try to respond to EVERY neomail, even if it is to reject your application. Please be patient if you don't get a response immediately: it takes time to look through the applications.
