Welcome to my petpage guest. My name is Katireona but im am normally called Katie by my brothers, sisters and owner. This page is mainly a guide to decorating a tree for christmas. Have Fun!

So you have decided to have a nicely decorated tree standing in your lounge for Christmas? Hopefully this guide will show you how to reach that end product of a healthy tree standing tall and gleaming as light hits the decorations. Plus this guide will show you how to have it done in time for Christmas.

Step 1: It is hard to decorate a tree without one. So this first step is choosing a tree.I usually go for something green as it looks natural but any other colour is acceptable as you can spruce it up later with decorations. It is not necessary to have a real tree, as I know many people that have chocolate trees. Although I don not recommend this type if you live in the warmer climates of Neopia such as The Lost Desert or Mystery Island. In the box below is a list of commonly used trees to decorate at Christmas.

Step 2: After selecting a tree to decorate, one must place it somewhere so that visitors to your home can see it clearly as well as there being enough room below and around it to place presents and gifts. Last year I placed mine next to our chimney in our large lounge, and I think I will do the same this year. On selecting a suitable place, put your tree upwards in a bucket full of water. Don't place the tree in front of any chimney as it may catch on fire and do not place the tree where pets and burglars from the street can see the vast number of presents and gifts under the tree as this may prompt them to come and steal everything. If you decided to pick a chocolate tree to decorate, I recommend keeping it in a cool room with a fan or in a fridge with a glass door.

Step 3: I always separate the decorating into 3 layers. The first layer is the base which has the role of covering up the tree, this layer isn't necessary is you have a fancy coloured tree like disco. I normally cover my trees up with fake snow or if I am lucky enough to be able to visit Terror Mountain I during the month of Celebrating, I use real snow. If snow doesn't appeal to you, you can use popcorn. Popcorn is great! I used it three years ago. It is available in a variety of different colours and textures such as pink spooky, buttered, enchanted or just plain ordinary popcorn. But, the decorating options don't stop at popcorn, you can also use chocolate or if you are brave enough, snot.

Step 4: Layer of lights. The second layer of decorating is lights and garlands. This helps to brighten the tree up and make it more interesting. I often use A String of Lights of Holiday String Lights for this job. But, if you want to be creative you could use doughnuts, ice, bells, paper, popcorn, seaweed or the very popular tinsel. There is also opportunity to show your support for the Altador Cup by using the Altador Cup Flag Garland.

Step 5: The last layer of decorating is the decorations. This is my favourite part of the whole process as it requires you to carefully position each decoration. My favourite types of ornaments to use are, wait… I have no favourite types, I like using an array of different decorations and ornaments. In the past I have used chocolate ones, Tiki Christmas Decorations, Striped Holiday and Fir Tree decorations. Sometimes I have also added candy canes, moon charms and disco balls for the little extra shine and sparkle. I also suggest visiting the advent calendar during the month of Celebrating, as the calendar is known to give out many items that could be useful for decorating your tree.

Step 6: The second to last step. Before moving onwards to the last step, the tree needs to be finalized with having something at the top. Recently, Neopians are choosing to use a star or an angel. I prefer stars, though. Instead of me suggesting items for this step you can go out and find your own.

Step 7: The final step. All trees should have presents underneath them. You should wrap them in many different ways and with different colour paper and ribbons. Pick different size presents as this can add a variety and tells people that you don't buy the same present for everyone.

I hope that this guide has provided you with heaps of information and ideas for decorating you Christmas tree for Christmas. But if you are having a lot of trouble, cannot manage these fun steps or simply don't have the time, you could always go and buy yourself a premade one. Although that may seem faster and easier it is definitely not as fun. I wish many Happy Holidays!
