I returned to the village hours later the woman and her child stared at me with big eyes. I must have smelled of ash and soot from being in the volcano. I smiled, "I'm glad to see you two are alright," I said, looking from the mother to her little girl.
Its all because of you!" the mother said happily, the village elder and council would like to meet you, and they told me to bring you in, that is, if you came back," she said, "We thought you died for my daughter Sophie and I.
I frowned, "I'm sorry, it was my fault, a guardian isn't supposed to leave there post for more then a month, and I left for three, long enough for you people to build a nice village," I said, examining the houses.
She smiled, "Please come with us!" she said gleefully, not paying any mind to what I said.
We walked mostly in silence, until the Sophie smiled and said, "Hi my name iws Sophie, I tuwn five next monf!
My name is Kasei," I told her, smiling back at her, though unable to meet her bright smile. "I turn 17 next month! Cool!" I said, "Maybe our birthdays are the same!" I told her.
Coowl!" she giggled.
When we arrived I felt out of place, many of the people had really light skin and brown hair. The people watched me as I wandered through, Was I really so different?, I seemed to ask myself every other minute.
When I met the village council and the elder they all looked upon me as though I was no big deal. When someone would talk it was powerful and billowing. "Why did you return? If you sacrificed yourself to the volcano then you should not have returned," one said.
I didn't sacrifice myself, I did my job," I replied.
Job? What job could make a volcano explode if it isn't done?" another asked.
Another said before I can answer, "Why is your skin as black as night and your hair and eyes as red as blood?
I opened my mouth to speak and again I was interrupted, "Why are you out without supervision at night? Don't you have a family?
My mouth snapped closed as they continued to talk and ask pointless personal questions. I looked back to the woman and girl. The woman looked very uneasy and regretted bringing me here. I looked to the village elder and realized he hadn't said a word. But he stood up moments later snapping his cane against the ground, "Hush hush, stop with these confounded questions already!" he said. He had been examining me the whole time. "Now boy, I want to know a few things about you, and I will let you on your way.
I nodded, I had no choice.
He smiled, "First, your name,
Kasei Yougan,
Age?
16, I will be seventeen fairly soon though,
Where are you from?
The house of Harure," I told him, not wanting to tell of the Lunar Realm.
Now do you mind showing us your powers... Sir Yougan?
I blinked, and nodded. "Fine," I said, snapping my fingers a small flame hovered over my hand. People gasped from the audience. "Is that good?" I asked, the fire going out.
May I see more?" he asked.
Sure," I answered, I sounded unhappy, I could tell, but I held my hands out just the same and fire appeared, I spun around, dragging my heal on the floor as a ring of fire wove around me, I clapped my hands together, the fire on my hands were gone. I sat in the middle of my circle as the flames danced around me.
Very nice..." he said. After that evening he decided to call the village 'Yougan Village', after myself for saving them from the volcano. And the woman, and her daughter Sophie, allowed me to live with them, she treated me like her son, and I was very glad to have her, and Sophie to take care of, and to take care of me.

I finished up sewing a doll, and putting it in a box with a ribbon on it before Sophie, My new mother, Mary, came home, "Welcome home!" I said hapilly. I was right, Sophie and my birthdays were on the same day.
We got you something Kasei!" Mary said, a pleased look on her face.
Really? You didn't have to-
Buwt we diwd!" Sophie replied cutely, "Its youwr birfday too!
We exchanged gifts, Sophie was so excited and carried the doll with her all day. I was getting ready to open my present when an earth quake started. "Stay down!" Mary ordered.
I can't! I have to go make sure the volcano is okay!" I told her, "I'm sorry, I'll be back soon!" I said. I ran outside, another large treamor knocked me to my feet, as I looked up in horror, the sky had suddenly turned black, and black fire spilled from the volcano. I got up and ran towards the volcano, the villagers yelled at me and tried to get my attenion, but all I could think about was helping my new family, I reached the base of the volcano and looked down, magma was weaveing around my feet, I tried to use my power to force it into my body but it didn't work, the more I used my power the blacker it became until it was compleately black. I looked up, more black fire raced to me, and consumed me once again, burning my red sleeveless top off. I looked to my markings on my arms, they glowed blood red, and started to fade to glow black, "Whats going on?!" I yelled franticly, stareing at the gloves that were practicly being incenerated. My pants didn't burn off like everything else, they were made of a powerful enough material that they wouldn't burn, but I was confused, I looked up again, but fell to the ground, my hands sinking into the lava, my entire body felt like it was burning from the inside out. Thats when I saw it, streaming across the sky, a dragon, black with the same markings as mine on its back. It flew down to me and cast a earshattering roar. I looked up at it, the hateful monster that had caused this, "Stop!" I yelled, It roared at me, and started destroying the village. "NO!!" I yelled, trying to use my powers, but it was no good, I fell to the ground again, "What is this..." I asked myself.
The dragon roared again, talking in its foriegn tounge, "Well now boy, isn't this hard, don't you want to give up? Give in and become an evil king, evil king of this world, all you have to do is give in," it said, the words it said like poison.
I the pain started subsideing and I stared at the ground, I felt power instead of pain, I got up and stared into the dragons eyes. I turned around and walked towards the village I once called home and stared at the buildings, black flames came from each step I took. Buildings caught fire one by one as I passed. I continued through the village, every thought distructive and hateful. I continued through the village until I reached the house I called home, Sophie had run outside, Mary following. I held my hand up at them, ready to destroy them, and I saw myself reflected in there eyes, and how terrified they looked, my hand dropped, my eyes had turned compleately red, and my markings glowing black and blood red my hand droped to my sides and I fell to my knees.
The dragon roared from a distance and took off, flying to where we were, planning to kill them, it opened it's mouth and destroyed the roof of there cottage, and everything behind it. He did it again, instantly incenerateing Sophie and Mary, the last thing they saw was me, ready to kill them. And I hung my head, "No... Why did this happen...?" I asked myself.
The dragon flew down, laying on top of the city hall building, "Isn't your power magnificent?" he asked me.
I looked up, "Its youre fault...
What?" he asked me, "You ungrateful little wreatch, the power of the black flame will consume you!" he roared.
Not today..." I told him. I continued to sit there, not makeing eye contact with him.
He roared again, not likeing the idea, "It will! And it will consume your mind and soul! You will rule! Or all those who you love will pay the price!
I couldn't take this anymore, I got up, power surgeing through me, "No, I don't want to see you anymore!" I yelled at him, casting a heatwave at him, "You will go back to your cave and never, EVER come out," I said, useing the very power he had given me to seal him. A cage of black fire surrounded him, and then dissapeared with him in it. I fell to the ground, and cried for my losses, although it was my fault to begin with.
