Spirits do not last forever. Just as humans, they die and others are born to take their place. So is the case with Kamar.
![]() | An aged water spirit of twenty-five thousand years was taking his turn in the journey to yet another world. As his body became limp, he fell into the ocean and was surrounded by the water. When his soul had passed, his body burst into flame, the flare swelled to a magnificent size, and then fizzled out as the water's mist quenched the blaze. As the fire faded, the four winds whispered 'Kamarica'. Within the vapor floated a newly born water spirit, just as all the others had been born before her. The little one was meant to take |
| It did not take Kamar long to find her place. She established her dominance in the ocean known as Arou. Not shortly after she discovered an abandoned fortress; built sturdily on the ocean floor and extending past the surface, just on the border of her territory. Without hesitance she called the structure home. | ![]() |
FIVE THOUSAND YEARS

In this time too she had, to an extent, developed her powers.
NOT ALONE

Kamar is not alone in being or purpose. There are multiple water spirits alive at given times as one would not be able to look after the entire sixteen oceans (each ocean named after one of the first sixteen water spirits). Some of the current spirits oversee two, but no more. 'Control' also passes between spirits, allowing them to move to different parts of the world depending on their desire to do so.
The water spirits' purpose is to protect and provide for the creatures living within their given territory and to make sure a balance is kept between predator and prey. Those concerned with themselves tend to disregard their duties and use their powers for ill rather than pure intent.
Kamar is connected to all water life, as are all of the water spirits. Unconsciously their ever-constant tears send ripples to the most distant of shores, throwing water upon the rocks. Therefore, they control the tide; not the moon as so many falsely believe. The loosened particles create the thousands grains of sand. Also, as they fly (for the spirits can both fly and swim), the trailing winds combine with the water and provide those living underneath the surface with breath. In this way, the spirits are a necessity to all water-related beings.
THE POWER

Water spirits have the power to manipulate water however each pleases. Being a water spirit, Kamar is able to do just that. One swift motion from her limb could cause a tsunami if she would so desire. She, however, is a gentle-willed spirit; using the power she possesses to calm the waters instead of making them rough.
![]() | Do not believe, however, that all the water spirits have good intentions. There are a few in every age that are only concerned with themselves. It is a shame, but even spirits are tempted by power and wealth. |
TEARS SHED

Kamar and the others cry for the past water spirits that had given their lives so that they could have the gift of life. They mourn to remember, to honor, and to love. Even the selfish show such respect.
BACKGROUND

It is unfortunate that not all the spirits could be as kind-hearted as Kamar, but alas, that is nature. Too many become overwhelmed with the evil of the world and seek fortune for themselves. These self-centered beings are constantly scheming in order to gain more territory, inflict pain, or anger others. Those like Kamar are the ones that simply wish for peace. It is this clash of perspective that causes inability to compromise and thus conflict. Not only do the ill-intentioned water spirits anger their own kind but the analogous earth spirits as well. It is on this conflict that Kamar's story is based.

GREED'S DESTRUCTION

For the first seven thousand years of her life, Kamar lived in relative peace. The other spirits were wrapped up in their own, seemingly more important affairs, and so Kamarica grew and lived in isolation. This serenity, however, couldn't last forever.
Go to Ora, fly fast, and find Sarii. Tell her of our plan. Stay with her and Llea and I will meet you there. Now, Go!'
With these words, Camar took to flight. She glided higher until she reached the swift-moving air currents and rode them south, to Ora. Once there she searched the surface, and with no luck of finding Sarii, dove elegantly into the unnaturally warm water. Kamar swam forcefully; hoping the rhythm from her tail would be enough to gain Sarii's attention. Successful in her hope, Kamar found Sarii floating before her in minutes.
Who are you, and what are you doing here?' Sarii asked offensively.
I am Kamar of the neighboring Arou, I have come in behalf of Elau and am here to ask your help. Two spirits just east of you have begun to fight, and are causing much harm to the life they are suppose to protect. If we band together, our hope is that we can stop them.'
I apologize for my rudeness. I had suspected Miaru to come and demand refuge. Yes, I will aid you in your worthy quest. We mustn't, however, fail to remember our duties here in our own territory,' Sarii said more calmly.
Hopefully this ordeal will be over quickly and we need not worry of such arrangements, but you are right in your concern … what do you propose we do?'
As Sarii and Kamar discussed their options Elau had reached Contla and found Llea without much trouble. Llea promptly agreed to support the intervention attempt and without more discourse, both took off towards Ora.
Meanwhile, underneath the darkening skies and ever more heating seas the fighting between Miaru of Pultin and Kolya of Yuiru continued. With every flick of a tail or gesture of a mighty paw waves rose fiercely with initiative as if they themselves wanted to win the battle. They crashed and fell, and every time the waves would claim some of the shore as their own, and take it down to the depths of the ocean floor as they went, only for them; the water, to rise again. As the angry sea hissed, Miaru and Kolya taunted the other making each all the more infuriated. With each verbal engagement more and stronger waves were summoned, and the narrow boundary channel became wider as the fragile shore was greedily swept away.
The earth spirits governing the coast thus grew upset at the boldness of the two quarrelling water spirits and decided to intervene. Ash flew high and the sky grew heavy with smoke as volcanoes erupted to replace the sunken sand. The lava crackled and sputtered loudly as the water cooled the hot, once molten rock and hardened it near the water's edge.
Seeing at once the smoke bellowing towards to heavens, the foursome, having just meet up, took off towards the east, worried about the new participation. The closer they became, the fiercer the winds and the darker the water. When they reached the scene, they hovered, shocked at the devastation. 'This must be stopped,' they all thought sorrowfully to themselves as they looked upon the destroyed shore and gravely disrupted sea-life.
Without having discused a plan beforehand the four, with all their will, tried to calm the waters. There attempt was only minorly successful. With this disappointment they flew to a relatively serene area to decide what to try next.
Should we confront the earth spirits first?' suggested Elau.
What are we to tell them, that Miaru and Kolya will just stop?' Sarii snappily said.
Timidly Camar interjected, 'What I've heard of Miaru, she'll be the easier to persuade. Perhaps we should try to calm her.'
You are right about that, Kolya is extremely head-strong. So, do we all agree?' Llea openingly asked.
They discused their options a bit more but ended up deciding that Kamar's suggestion was ultamitly the best choice. So, all in a final agreement they flew back to the destroyed shore and began their search for Miaru. Elau and Kamar found her in a rage near the south part of Pultin. Kamar, uncomfortable with being left alone with such an enraged spirit ten times her strength volunteered herself to find the other pair.
So, to the high skies she took once more, and in no time at all spotted Llea and Sarii hovering over the choppy water's surface. She dove down quickly, darting into their foward path.
We've found Miaru,' she said. 'Come, Elau is with her now.'
Together they took to the firmament.
Elau had been handling the circumstance sufficantly enough by calmly trying to reason with the still very upset Miaru.
He's the one that invaded my space, He's the one that sent a tsunami through my territory!' she heatedly exclaimed.
In pure fury she struck nearby Elau with her massive drawn out claws. The wounded spirit cried out in pain.
By this time the others had reached the southern part of Pultin and could see Sarii's thrashing paws and Elau's wonded side. Without hesitance all darted down to support their ally.
Again Elau shreaked in agony as the three strove to help her. Finally Kamar lay floating with her in the hot sea while Llea and Sarii went to scold Miaru for such uncalled for behavor.
She had done nothing to you' Llea angrily shouted. 'Your pathetic fight is not with us, but the spirit you stooped so low as to confront! You were always hasty for an exchange of blows,' Llea said pitifully.
Don't you realize what you are doing to your ocean?' exclaimed Sarii, 'all the creatures that have died!'
Am I to just let him claim this,' she said as she outstretched her bloody paw. 'No, Kolya must pay for his arrogance towards me!'
Miaru,' Llea muttered, 'Don't you realize you are also paying? Your ocean is ruined'
Rage consumed her once again, and too angry to reply she dove into her once beautiful ocean now littered with debris.
We shall tend to Elau now,' Llea simply said.
**The story will continue; I have an ending ... it just may take a while to reach it so come back and read the rest later XD
