The blizzard swirls around you in a blur of grey and white. The wind is whistling in your ear, making your trudge up the steep mountainside even harder. You picture warmth in your mind, a cosy fire and a safe place of shelter, and it makes you feel a tiny bit better. And as in the desert, when you are lacking water and shade, you think you are starting to hallucinate when you see the warm glow of a lamp and a small hut which is clear of snow at it's entrance. Surely the cold is going to your head, but no, a figure is emerging from the cabin.
You try to muster the last of your strength to turn and make your way towards the just-visible sillhouette. She guides you as you stumble into the warmth of a small hut, and the last you remember is a warm blanket and her soft words, "Welcome traveller, to the place of rest. Now, you must sleep.
Hello, I'm Gemm and welcome to the page I've made for Jhaeyd. Since a lot of the page is sort of Jhaeyd-telling-her-story sort of thing I will put my words as me (I hope you're following this =P) in this colour which I'm using now.
Oh, and you may be wondering why my stories ae so short. I'm really good at lacking detail and just writing the bare minimum. It's why I'm so bad at writing history essays. xD
Uhhh, yeah. On with the show?
That snazzy custom to your left is made by chex_. =O

You wake up curled up beside a roaring fire. Your rescuer is sitting calmly next to you, and she hands you a steaming cup of tea. She smiles. 'So, wanderer, tell me your story,' but you are feeling weak, so you smile back and say 'No, you go first. 'Very well,' she says, and adjusts herself so that she is sitting comfortably on the mat.
This is her story in a nutshell if you're like me and don't like reading long stories. =P If you don't want it spoiled, then don't read on! (although it's not really that gripping or anything but still..*shields your eyes*
Meanwhile, you can look at this amazing custom Hikaru did for me! Yay!

Jhaeyd was born into a community of Xweetoks, living in the Himalayas. The Xweetoks there were segrregated and unique, because of their beautiful fan-like wings, which opened when the Xweetok became an adult. For the first few years of her life Jhaeyd was happy playing with her siblings like a normal cub. But then she started to noticed strange powers, which none of her sisters or brothers seemed to posess. Dead plants would sprout new leaves when she touched them with her paws. As she grew older, she learned about her powers and used them to heal people in the village. She collected herbs and plants to make medicines to cure every possible disease. People came to her and she would help them. But the Xweetoks started to doubt her, some even called her a Witch. Finally, one summer a terrible plague came upon the people of Jhaeyd's village. Many died, she was unable to cure them. Everyone blamed Jhaeyd, they said she had brought a curse upon the people and that she would have to leave. So,
a party set out up into the mountains, to a cabin where the Xweetoks sometimes rested on trips up the mountain and banished her there. She was eighteen.
She still lives in her cabin in the snow.. She helps travellers and listens to their stories, and gives them tea. She didn't actually bring a curse on the people, they were just paranoid. She also makes medicines and stuff and she drinks lots of tea.
She began: 'I was born into a village of Xweetoks, not far from here, further down the mountain. My family was happy, I had many brothers and sisters. I was normal. But one day there was a small fire in one of the meadows. The crops were ruined. I went with my mother and father to see and try to repair the damage. I was young, and ran happily through the burnt field, not aware that anything was wrong. And then something miraculous happened. Behind my was a trail of green, flourishing plants, like there had been no fire. And as I played with my siblings in the field it began to come back to life until there was no trace of destruction at all. My parents, and the rest of the village were overjoyed. They called me 'gifted one', Jhaeyd in our language. I was like their lucky charm. I grew older and wiser, I was still I child but I had learnt a way with plants and herbs to make medicines, and soon people would come to me to be healed.'
Jhaeyd stops and sees your slightly disbelieving face. She smiles and touches a cut on your hand. It disappears. She continues:I was able to cure any illness that came our way, I could make tragedies seem like they never happened. But then a plague came upon us. Many caught it, I was one of the lucky few, however I was unable to help these people. Some said that it was punishment for messing with nature and making wrongs right, and others sais that I had brought a curse. So, after much protasting from my parents, tears and goodbyes, I was taken struggling up the mountain to this deeserted cabin, where the snow never melts. For my first few weeks here I was miserable, but then I knew my purpose. This mountain has always had snow high up, but beautiful plants always broke through the icy exterior, and I used the plants to make more medicines that ever before. I live a simple life here, my purpse is to help travellers like you, travellers who may be close to death, and I nurse you better. I hear your stories, and they help me grow ever wiser. I have no wish to return to my place of birth, here is my place. Now, my visitor, what is your story?
Look, you can write you story here! :P
You finish your story and trail off, but you are still looking curiosly at Jhaeyd. She sees you and smiles saying, 'You would like to know more?' you nod and she takes a sip of tea and tells you more about her...
Yes well actually I'm going to tell you about Jhaeyd, so there. =P

Jhaeyd smiles and waves from the fireside as you step out into the cold, as you leave the door you are immediatly bombard with the howl of the wind and the sting of snow in your face. You hear her call farewell, then the door shuts an you are alone on the harsh mountainside.
