First part of story:

It had been a while since Jerrena had last been in the city, but it felt like coming home nevertheless. She breathed in all the different smells, listened carefully to the sounds (or rather, all the noise from thousands of people) and let her eyes run through her surrounding to watch every detail. She did not spot him yet, but the odds of that had not been in her favor anyway. A woman from a nearby market place called up to her, asking if she'd like to buy a new skirt. But Jerrena did not pay attention to her. She was in this city with a purpose and she would not rest before meeting her love. Most likely he was busy with some big, important stuff that princes were supposed to do. Jerrena laughed softly at the idea of his annoyed face when his father would give him another task to keep him busy all day. It was exactly one year ago that she had last seem him and now her heart already filled with joy at the thought of seeing him very soon. Jerrena walked her way through the crowded market, smiling kindly to people she passed by and buying a piece of bread to still her hunger. It wouldn't be polite to show up at the palace with a grumbling stomach. When the palace came in view she more ran than walked the last distance that separated her from her love.
