Activeness is very important because people want to know, first of all, how dedicated you are to your site and if they can count on you to add something new. This is why an updates section is very important, because it lets people know the last time you added something to your site. Its also important because if they want to, lets say, get reviewed by you and the last time you were on was 3 years ago, they wouldn't send in the form to you because you hadn't been on in so long! To sum it up, activeness is important because it lets people know that you're there! xD

Literacy is very important in a site. U rly wudnt want 2 go round taukin leik dis, wood ja? xD When you open up your site, you are basically having it open so that everyone can see it. You aren't having it limited to only a few people. And I know for a fact that lots and lots of people absolutely hate chatspeak. There are, however, many others that enjoy using it better than just talking in normal grammar. That is the reason you go to school and learn grammar, so that you can learn how to talk and spell properly instead of using little symbols and parts of words to get the meaning out of what you are trying to say. And honestly, when you type in chatspeak, there are many people (including me ^^) that have no clue how to read it. And also, on most review sites that you might have your site reviewed at, they mark down points if you talk in chatspeak and not normal grammar. So, the main point is, that literacy is key in having a golden site.

Affiliates (or Affies as everyone else calls them) are a good way to advertise your site. Especially if you are affies with a really good site that everyone knows about, they will think, "Wow, if they are affies with this amazing site, their site must be amazing, too!" But, for other people to think that, the fact must be true. I've learned this lesson the hard way: If tons of people everyday ask you to be affies with them on their site, and all they ever did on their site was post icons from Photobucket for people to use, or make graphics that just have words on them without any pictures or designs, and you accept their requests, with your great site people are going to go to your affie's sites and find out that they are not as amazing as they thought they were going to be. So when receiving affie requests, you must be careful about who you choose to be affies with you. They must have good quality sites so when people that are visiting your site click on the button, they are a good quality site like yours! Now, you don't have to only accept the absolutely amazing sites that request to be affies. You would just need to steer clear of the "wanna-be sites" as I call them. And also, when you are applying to be affies with other sites, you must keep in mind that the site is basically helping you to get more views, so the site must be popular and have quality content also.
