Lucky Stars Adoption Agency

Hi guest, my name is Lucky, and I'm the owner and creater of Lucky Stars Adoption Agency. Here you can take a look at all of the available pets that are currently up for adoption, or learn how to place one of your own into our adoption agency so that we may help you find your pet a great home. I invite you to explore the links on the left to answer any questions you may have before you send in a neomail. Thanks and have a great day!!

If you'd like to help fund our foster packs that are given to all "Official Fosters" (to keep up with feeding and taking care of the pets until they find their permanant home), you can make an offer on one of Lucky's trades or buy some omelettes from the adoption shop. Thank You!

Adoption Rules

* NO BEGGING FOR PETS!

* No short neomail requests like, "Please let me adopt! I'm such a good owner. I'll feed him and play with him every day, I swear." Those will be rejected.

* We suggest that you send in a petpage request or a very nice neomail.
What is a petpage request? It is a website or petpage that you have made and decorated with a background, blog, colorful font, or whatever you chose to tell the foster owner that you're a great owner and how you qualify. Also, visit the guidelines section for ideas on what to put on your petpage request.

* Only send in a request if you intend to keep the pet.

* Do not use the same petpage request over and over.

* Only list your pet in our agency if you're sure you do not want that pet anymore.

* Make sure your foster pets lookup says that they are currently up for adoption and take it down and neomail lucky97501 once they find a home.

* Do not harass the staff, foster parents, or anyone in the Lucky Stars Adoption guild.

If you break the rules, we may block you, reject your request and possibly report you to TNT.

Petpage applications help your request stand out. It shows that you're willing to take an extra 5 minutes to impress the foster owner. It also gives you plenty of room to explain why you're a good owner and to add any short stories or poems too. :) Having a petpage application gives your request personality and gives you the chance to make it beautiful!

*Note: Some owners want petpage applications and your neomail requests may get ignored.

Click Here for an awesome example application

What Do I Say In My Request?
* Give all other accounts you have on Neopets. * List any trophies you have. * Tell the foster owner what the pet's new life will be like.
* List any items you have bought for the pet.
* List what you plan to do with your new pet. (Ex: role play, battle, read books, etc.)
* Tell about yourself and about your current pets as well.

Make It Creative!
* Make a story or poem.
* Tell what your pets think about a new brother/sister.
* Listing all the above info on a petpage keeps it organized and gives you the opportunity to make it look fantastic!
* Add pictures and make it personal to that particular pet.
* Do not use the same application over and over!

So, you want to be an LSA Foster, huh? Great! Being a foster parent is a big responsibility. You are the one in charge of taking care of pets and finding them loving owners. Being a foster parent at LSA is a great experience. We will help you find good owners for your pets by listing them here for possible owners to see.

Read the everything below and on the Info/FAQ page because you will have to take a small quiz before becoming an "Official LSA Foster Parent". The quiz is located at the bottom of this page. Don't worry, it's quick and easy. Some of the questions are common sense everything else can found on this page or the Info/FAQ page. When you've completed the quiz, neomail your answers to lucky_stars13

Remember asking for applications is okay as long as you aren't asking for anything in return. Click here to see for yourself.

* We do not provide you with foster pets. Your fosters are the pets you're putting up for adoption.

*** There must be something on the pet's lookup stating that they are up for adoption or they will not be posted in our agency.

* Please keep your pet's stats up because everyone will be looking at them.

* If you are going to send a petpet with your foster pet, please say so on the lookup. So it's clear to the possible new owner.

* Only post pets that you absolutely do not want for your self.

* No red, blue, yellow, or green pets will be added unless they are limited edition pets because it crowds the adoption agency.

* If you have your own personal rules for adopting your pets, post them on the pet's lookup or provide a link to the rules page. Lucky Stars Petcare isn't responsible for asking for applications for your foster pets.

* Once your foster pet finds a home, please remove them from our database by neomailing Lucky97501.
* When you're trying to transfer your foster pet to their new owner, make sure you give them the "quick adopt link" located on the "Info/FAQ" page so their chances of actually adopting the pet are very high.

Great Fostering Ideas

Use your lab ray and petpet lab ray! If you have lab access, adopt pets from the pound with names that could be for a boy OR girl. (The lab changes pet's gender sometimes! There IS a way to change the pet's gender after they are painted by the lab ray. Neomail lucky97501 to find out how.) Most pets from the pound aren't painted and don't have petpets. It's such a great thing to do to adopt from the pound, lab them until they're painted and lab a cheap petpet into a painted or rare petpet. The pet and new owner will be twice as happy!

Give your foster pet a nice lookup It makes the pet look more appealing to possible new owners.

When you recieve applications... don't be too harsh. And don't judge the application by the HTML skills that were used. Not every great owner can make wonderful webpages, remember that.

Play and read! Play with your foster so he/she will be extremely happy. And read a couple of books to them so their intellegance is at least "above average".

Raise their level If the lab ray didn't already raise their level, spend a codestone or two and take him/her to the training school to raise their level one or two levels.

Send a "Going home pack" with the pet If you have spare neopoints, it's really nice to send a few toys or foods with the pet when he/she finds a new home.

Below is a list of people who have pets listed in LSa. The people who are official LSA foster parents have "Official Foster" written next to their names. What that means is that they have completed the quiz and are "Officially" part of Lucky Stars Adoptions

Looking To Adopt?
To look at our list of avaliable pets, click the links on the side bar. The pets are organized in ABC order.

If you see a pet that you may be interested in, click on their picture to see their stats. Some of the pets have petpets that come with the pet. (If it is zapped by the lab ray, do not remove the petpet or it will go back to it's origional color and species!) Under the pet is the name of the person who you need to contact to adopt them. Most owners require an application to adopt but that is totally up to the pets current owner and Lucky Stars Adoptions is not responsible for any "rules" each owner may have for their pets.

After looking at your application, the foster parent will decide if you are the right owner for their foster pet and will let you know if you are accepted or rejected. If you are rejected, don't worry! There are lots of people who request the same pets but only one person can adopt them. We urge you to look at the list again and try as many times as you'd like.

If you are accepted: The foster owner and you need to decide on a good time to meet so you can adopt your pet. Once a time is set, make sure you have enough money on hand for the Neopian Pound's fee. 5,000 neopoints should be plenty for any pet unless their level is extremely high. When it is time to adopt, use the quick adopt link:

http://www.neopets.com/process_adopt.phtml?pet_name=PETNAMEHERE

Keep refreshing the page until you have adopted the pet. Remember: There is always the chance that the pet may get lost in transfer. If that happens, all you can do is kindly ask the person who adopted your pet to please give them back to you. Do not get mad or be rude because once the pet is in the pound anyone is allowed to adopt them.

After The Pet is Adopted
If you are the foster parent or the person who has adopted the pet, please let Lucky97501 know ASAP when the pet has found a new home so I can remove them from our list. Thanks.

Frequently Asked Questions

I would like to adopt a pet, but who do I contact? After you click on that pet read what is written on the pet's lookup. Sometimes the owners use spare accounts to house their pets so they may have a different contact name than the one the pet is actually on. If there isn't another contact name, the one it's on is who you send your application to.

Do I have to make applications to adopt pets? No, but making applications gives you the opportunity to explain exactly why you would be a great owner for that pet. It also gives you more space than neomail so you can add stories, poems, and pictures so your request stands out. It also shows the foster parent that you are willing to put forth a little effort in adopting their pet. Also, please remember each foster owner may or may not have their own rules for adopting their pets.

What is a "petpage application" and how do I make one? A petpage is a webpage that you are given with each pet you have. To edit it, go to Pet Central, then click on Pet Pages. After that, you pick which pet's page you want to edit then click on Edit. You can paste any background codes, picture codes, or whatever you'd like in addition to just typing in your request. Even if the page only has a background and one picture, it's much better than neomail. It gives the application personality and makes it stand out.

What do I say in my application and what are some tips so I can make it better? There is a section below all deticated to making applications and what to say in them.

I neomailed the foster parent, but they haven't replied yet. Why? Don't panic, they may not have gotten a chance to read your neomail yet. If they have read it, they may not accept neomail applications. If you didn't send a neomail application and they still didn't reply, after a day or two, kindly send them a reminder that you have mailed them and to please reply as soon as possible. But please only send one reminder.

I would like to be a foster parent. Where are the pets I can foster? We do not give you pets to foster. Your "foster pets" are your own pets who are up for adoption and are looking for a home.

Can un-painted pets be added in your adoption agency? No, sorry.

Can I send a petpet with my foster pet when they are adopted? Yes! It's always nice to send a petpet with your foster pet when adopted. Many people, including Lucky, use the lab ray to paint petpets or make them a rare kind of petpet to send along with the pet.

My foster pet has found a home, what do I do now? Please neomail Lucky97501 and let her know your foster pet has found a home so she can add them to our Sucess Stories page.

If you have any more questions and they were not answered here, neomail Lucky97501.
