Rae's Guide to

Quizara's Curse & Neopets Puzzle Adventure

So you want to know about Quizara's Curse and Neopets Puzzle Adventure?

Well you're in luck, since I am an expert on these topics! This guide is here to tell you everything you need to know about these games BESIDES how to play them. It will cover basic things you do in the game, but I will not explain how to play, as both of these are easy games and cannot really use a 'guide' of any kind.

Quizara's Curse

This game is exclusive to the Leapfrog Learning System Didj, and can only play didj games. The didj is a handheld (and battery eating) system that is made for children for learning games. Its kinda like a big brick Game Boy, and even uses Game Boy Advance-like cartridge games. You can get the system through Target's website, but you're better off getting it from some of the popular auction sites that are non-nameable (you all know the places I'm talking about :-p ). The system can cost anywhere from $20-60, depending on which version/color you get, and the game can be anywhere from $10-30. I would highly suggest buying your games USED, as they are much cheaper, and just as good. The basic idea of the game is that Faerieland is in danger, and your neopet goes around and cures curses that an evil Neopian named Quizara has placed upon the faeries. This is very slow going. Its a repetitive game for kids to help them with spelling and grammar, and you go around starting out with one elemental magic (you start out with earth) and have to go through the various 'worlds' to find the specific colored faerie in each section to lift the curse from. Along the way you talk to many neopians who give you quests to do, such as delivering items to others, which is where all the different items you can get from the game are based on. You also find lots of objects, there are little acorns everywhere that you 'open' finding random things. Some of these random things are the rare item codes. There are four in all to collect along the way. I don't know if the glitch has been fixed or not yet, but way back when I redeemed mine, you couldn't redeem your codes until you had ALL FOUR of them found.

Quizara's Rare Item Codes

There is a system to these rare item codes. For those of you who have the game, you may notice that after you collect the codes in the game, if you go view them in your inventory and 'click' on them, sometimes the codes change! You can only redeem FOUR codes on your account, although, you can make use of this useless system for others. What I did when I had mine, was I opened a word pad, sectioned it off into 'used' and 'unused', and wrote down all the different codes I could 'produce' over time (we're talking a loooooong time here). Every time I came across what looked like a code I haven't seen before, I would search for it on my word sheet, and if it was something I have never 'used' before, would put it under the 'unused' category. I would then gift these codes to friends and family who didn't have access to the game to help them out. **Please note, this next part is NOT confirmed** Although I have checked, and rechecked, along with others checking in various places for me, I have never come across anything stated in The Neopian Times stating that it is against the rules to 'gift' rare item codes. From what I understand, as long as you are not asking for items or any sort of compensation in return, it should be fine. I gave my codes to friends out of the kindness of my heart, because I knew they didn't have access to the games and such, and never once asked for anything back. Thats not saying that they can't give you anything in thanks, but it should NEVER, EVER be expected of anyone, if you *do* plan to gift people codes of any sort. If someone finds an article or anything else that shows this is not the case, or if you do believe it is against the rules, and have evidence of this, PLEASE neomail me about it, as I don't want to post false information! Ok, so now that we have covered how to get item codes, and how to get MORE of the item codes for others, its on to the PRIZES!! You can redeem your rare item codes by going to www.neopets.com/quizara You will enter in each of your codes, it takes you through a little cut scene to 'defeat' Quizara, and you will be prompted with a scrammbled word. The word to unscrammble will always be Jewel. After you beat Quizara, you are awarded one item for every code you used (so thats four items), plus a background for your pet, and the site theme.

Site Theme Pictures

The following are some screen caps of what the site them would look like if you had it. I tried to refresh and get as many of the little pictures at the bottom of the page as possible, but for the most part, its usually just faeries. The little neomail and item events are so cute!
CLICKING on the images will take you to their original page to view the full size. Special thanks to Princessstaci2102 for letting me use her images of hte site theme!

Neopets Puzzle Adventure

The Neopets Puzzle Adventure game has been released on three different platforms: Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, and the PC. Each has their own advantages and disadvantages. First, you must know how to play. Puzzle Adventure is nothing more than the neopets version of Othello. You basically place tokens around each other to convert the other player colors to your own. It sounds complicated, but once you get the hang of it, its really easy. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a guide on HOW to play, so I may possibly add one of my own later on, but a game guide is not what this page is for. Anyways, if you wanted to play through and get the full effect of the game, you should play the PC or Wii version. The PC version automatically starts you off with a rare item code, or the master code for that game, which gives you the prize A Gamers Guide To Puzzle Adventure.

A Gamers Guide To Puzzle Adventure is a book that cannot be sold/traded/sent to any other account besides your own. It can go in your gallery, or your SDB, or be read to your pet, and thats about it. I'm not sure if the Wii does the same thing, as I have not played mine yet :) . In the PC and Wii version you go around playing the story line and after certain parts in the game, you will unlock more item codes. If you are familiar with Othello and already are pretty good at the game, and want to breeze through it, the DS version would be more for you. In the DS version, you still play through the game, but codes are unlocked by completing certain tasks like reaching certain experience points, completing a certain move, etc. So you could really knock out most of the codes within the first few battles. The codes given from certain experience points are the ones that take a while.

The Rare Item Codes

To redeem your codes, go to www.neopets.com/puzzleadventure You type in your codes and you will be rewarded with neopoints, an item, and a puzzle piece. For every five codes (I think, if someone knows for sure, let me know! Its been a while since I've redeemed codes) you get an extra puzzle piece. After you have completed the puzzle, you will get the site theme. You can still redeem codes after that for different platforms. For example, I completed the puzzle adventure and got the theme with the DS version. But, I can still redeem a full set of codes again from the PC version, and the Wii version. :) So you can get ALOT of items from this. The codes are also regenerated, as long as you put the game you have in a different system. For example, I used to work at a videogame store, and as I have stated, had the DS version. So every time someone would sell us a DS, I would pop the game in that DS real quick, and get the codes off of them to gift to friends. If you have a game that is already completed (like how I had already beaten the game and had all the codes unlocked) for the DS version, all you really have to do is put the game in a different DS other than yours, and you will get a new set of codes! The Wii and PC versions work slightly differently. Since they do not save game on the actual game like the DS does, you can still get a new set of codes by using your game in a different Wii or computer, but you will have to play through all over again. Again, I would suggest that if you buy one of these games to buy them used, because new they are still fairly expensive. Just make sure you check the discs for the Wii and PC version (Gamestop is NOTORIOUS for selling crap quality used games, so make sure you check the condition). Also, if you are buying the PC version used, make sure to ask the seller if it comes with its serial number/product key (basically the booklet with the game) because you HAVE to have that when installing it on your computer, or it will not work!

Site Theme Pictures

The Neopets Puzzle Adventure site theme is kinda boring in my opinion...I didn't really bother getting a bunch of screen shots, because for the most part the bottom of the screen is just one of the many characters or a petpet from the game. ***pictures will be up soon....gotta reupload everything.***

Items you can get

I will not bother posting all the items you can get from the Puzzle Adventure game, as there are 5 pages of them on JellyNeo. All you have to do to search for them, is go to their database, and type in puzzle adventure under the box that says 'description contains'. :)
But heres a taste of some of the rare/expensive items you can get from the codes:
