I guess you are here because you want the avatar, it's pretty right. If you follow these tips, then you will be well on your way to getting that elusive avatar (or trophy, but please wait until the 2nd if you already have the avatar, to give others a chance to get the avatar as well).

Maths Nightmare was the BTY from 16th-23rd September 2009! The score needed was over 7,520 to beat Alton Moughbry, which meant you needed 2 clock "glitches" and the code. The lowest avatar score as of 11:18pm NST on 16th September was 8,760.

I played for 7 months before getting the avatar on December 1, 2008. Don't think you can just play a few times and get the avatar, because it's not going to happen. Ok, you got that? If you aren't willing to spend a lot of time getting this avatar, then quit now and play something else. I've heard Kass Basher is easy.

To get the avatar, you must be in the top 50 at trophy time which is currently at 10:50pm. The best time to try for the avatar is on reset day or the 1st of the month.

This game is best played on a Keyboard with a number pad in the left. You need the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 1 and 0. The best tip I have for you is to keep your finger on the 2 and play a lot so you can move to the answer without looking at the numbers. The most common answers are 2 and 3. All the answers are 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 15 and 25.

Another tip is not to send all your scores at once. If you get in the 3900's, don't send it even if it will get in the top 50 early in the Neo day. Later in the Neo day, your score will be bumped off the high score table and you will have wasted one send. I always send one in the 5900's or higher and keep my other 2 sends for later in the Neo day. You can only send 3 scores, so use them wisely.

Put the game into Medium or Low quality mode. I got the avatar with Medium quality mode myself with my 1.6Ghz computer. I have tried High, Medium and Low quality modes and I don't see much difference between Low and Medium, but the game is faster for me in those 2 modes as compared with High.

Play with Division and Potato counter. This is the easiest as the sums repeat themselves, so you can memorise the answers. Playing in this mode also doubles your score, so if you get 2980 in the game, then your end score will be 5960. I have put the sums later in the guide so you can see them yourself.

When playing, click in the bubble and type your answer. You don't need to press enter, the bubbles will pop on their own and the next one will show.

In this screenie are where the 9 bubbles will show. If you leave your game, then after 5 bubbles the Babaa will fall onto the clock and wake Imiya (like below). To make this screenie, I had to join 2 screenies together. Aren't I cool?

When I got the avatar, I used the code at the start of round 7, but a lot of others I have chatted with said they used the code at the start of round 11.

The code is: letimiyasleep

Her name is imiya and not miya. You can use it once during your game to reset the clock.

Clocks reset at the end of: round 3, round 7, round 12 and round 17.

Clock "glitches" if you are lucky and keeps going around at the end of: round 7, round 11 and round 16.
(NOTE: this only happens if you still have questions to answer in those rounds)

You need to be fast, you should answer each rounds 9 questions within 15 seconds. If you take longer than that, then you won't have time to complete each block of rounds.

You have rounds 4, 5, 6 and 7 to compete within 60 seconds before the clock resets for the next block of rounds, which is 8, 9, 10, 11 AND 12 (which is impossible to complete without the code or a clock "glitch" at the end of round 11). A lot of the time, I run out of time at the end of round 7 with just one question left, so that is why I use the code then.

You can't do rounds 13, 14, 15, 16 AND 17 in 60 seconds either, so you need the clock "glitch" at the end of round 16 to complete the remaining questions in round 16 and the questions in round 17.

Those people on the high score table with scores over 7000, got the clock "glitch" at the end of round 16. It is possible to get it, so don't give up.

This shows where there is enough time to complete rounds 6 and 7.

This shows where I took too long to answer the sums in round 6 and I will not have enough time to complete round 7, so I would use the code at this point.

As I said earlier in this guide, here are the sums that you will need to answer. As you can see, they are really easy.

4 / 2 = 2
6 / 2 = 3
6 / 3 = 2
8 / 2 = 4
8 / 4 = 2
9 / 3 = 3
10 / 2 = 5
10 / 5 = 2
20 / 2 = 10
20 / 4 = 5
20 / 5 = 4
20 / 10 = 2
30 / 6 = 5
30 / 5 = 6
30 / 2 = 15
30 / 15 = 2
40 / 2 = 20
40 / 4 = 10
40 / 5 = 8
40 / 8 = 5
40 / 10 = 4
40 / 20 = 2
50 / 2 = 25
50 / 10 = 5
50 / 25 = 2

Good luck getting your avatar. If you have any questions, feel free to Neomail me.
