These people scored points towards the categories, but did not come in first, second, or third in any of them so they did not receive any scoring points:
Here is the explanation of the 5 categories plus the bonus category I used for scoring, and the names and totals of the top 3 people in each category. The totals are the number of times they did each action over the course of the entire month.
1. Number of times a member mentions a real-life Halloween activity. This includes: talking about their Halloween costume; what they are doing on Halloween day or any other Halloween event they do during October.
1st – stangchick56: 15 times
2. Number of times a member mentions a Neopets Halloween related item or event. They do not necessarily have to use the word Halloween when talking about it, but Halloween must be inferred. For example, if someone mentioned what they got from the special Edna giveaway without mentioning Halloween, it will count.
1st – kimpossibleluvr: 36 times
3. The number of times a member mentions the word ghost, or spooky, or scary, or talks about paranormal occurrences. If the reference is to an item in category #1 or #2 such as "my scary costume" or "spooky doughnut", it counts towards that category and not this one. If someone tells a story about seeing a ghost, or talking about a scary move they saw, then it counts.
1st – kimpossibleluvr and stangchick56: 4 times each
4. The number of times a member mentions the word candy whether it is related to Halloween or not. However, if they mention a Neopets Halloween candy item, then it will be counted in category #2. If someone talks about handing out candy to kids on Halloween, it will be counted here, and not in criteria #1. Mentioning a type of candy such as chocolate without using the word candy, will also count.
1st – kimpossibleluvr: 4 times
5. This category is composed of 3 random things: number of times a member mentions any holiday other than Halloween, number of times a member mentions they are sick or not feeling well (since there seems to be a lot of that in our guild – injuries do not count), number of times a member mentions another family member or pet (they do not have to mention them by name).
1st – kimpossibleluvr: 37 times
6. Bonus question – the first 3 members to post that they found a Halloween goodie bag on Halloween, receive 3, 2, and 1 point, respectively.

MOTM Guild Guidelines
Host position shall rotate, thereby giving everybody a chance to win as well as allowing some flexibility to members assuming responsibility.
Also: never be afraid to ask for help if you need it!
MOTM shall be self-supporting through Jelly sales from this shop. Thank you for supporting Faerie Galaxy!!!
Funds in excess of monthly prize shall go to the Guild Donation Shop in support of Guild Auctions.
The only person who cannot participate in MOTM is the host. (The council has waived this rule a couple of times.)
Members who have recently won MOTM cannot accept nominations for 6 months.
Council members can be included in MOTM.
Nominees must be a member of the guild for 2 full months as of the first day of the current month, in order to receive a nomination. For example, for a person to be nominated in November, that member must have joined the guild on or before September 1.
Everyone has the right to decline a nomination.
Nominations will be accepted starting on the first Sunday of each month and collected for one week, in order to select the runners from the month's outstanding members. The host will post a message on the guild board when members can begin submitting their nominations.
A member must have at least 2 nominations to get added to the poll, and there must be a minimum of 4 persons with at least 2 nominations to go ahead and start the poll for that month. If there are many members with 2 or more nominations, the 4 or 5 people with the most nominations will be included on the poll.
The voting poll will be active for 10-14 days, and ending at any time during that period at the discretion of the host.
Each member can make three nominations for each MOTM poll. In order to submit nominations a person must be a guild member for one full month as of the 1st day of the current month. For example, to make nominations in November, a person must have joined the guild on or before October 1.
If more than 3 nominations are made by one member, then I will have to disregard the fourth one and also let the person know they have reached their monthly limit by a neomail, so think hard on who you want to nominate! Choose wisely.
Hostess will be responsible for monitoring all aspects of MOTM.

What are the characteristics of MOTM?
Kind, courteous, and helpful (i.e., helping people on quests and answering questions on the guild board).
Active in the guild by contributing regularly to both the guild message board and guild funds through donations.
And REMEMBER all MOTM nominations are meant to be a secret! So no telling! :D
