It had been nearly ten hours since the sun had retired from it's daytime duties in the sky and the full silver moon had long ago begun to pour it's transluscent silver beams down upon the battlefield. The raging war between the two enemies — the Vaericane vampires and the Maericane werewolves — had finally come to an end; although neither side had been successful. Battered corpses littered the land, colouring it with the liquid shade of crimson expelled from the fallen.

It was then that a golden figure emerged from a bloodied mound of fallen monsters and in a flash it was running for the shelter of the foreboding forest and then beyond that, the mountains...

He had been running for so long now... His limbs were screaming at him to stop and it felt as if his lungs were on fire. But he had been ordered to run and to not look back; to never look back... So he obeyed. His pink tongue lolled out of his mouth as he panted heavily, although his breaths were laboured. He wasn't expecting what was about to happen next... his legs gave away on him while he had been running as fast as he could. This sent him into a series of summersaults which were stopped dead when he had collided head on with a monstrous old oak, now everything went silent and then, black...

The beams of light from the midday sun seemed so much brighter then they should have been as they leaked through his eyelids. Attempting to squeeze his eyes even farther shut to block out the rays seemed to be virtually impossible so with much reluctance he warily began to open his chestnut brown eyes, slowly allowing more of that horrid light to pore into his pupils. A low groan escaped from his hoarse vocals. Once he had become fully aware of all of his sense he began to notice the searing pains running throughout his body; his head hurting more then anything else. "What the—" his words were then cut off involuntarily, his throat was parched. He needed water desperately. But how was it that he had gotten here? Where was here and where had he come from? All he could remember was his name... Sunny. He needed to figure this entire dilemma out, but first, he needed to find water...

Hours had passed since he had set out in search of some source of water. His entire body was weak and he was about to give in to it pleading when the comforting sound of a babbling stream caught his attention and boosted his spirits instantaneously. This male was still young; the unevenly proportioned build of his body gave that away. If his thin coat of fur had been clean it would have shone a handsome golden color. A long whip-like tail swayed back and forth happily behind him hind quarters as the stream came into view. When he had finally reached the streams bank, he dropped his hind quarters to the muddy surface of the earth carelessly and the bowed his head and begun lapping up the cold glacial water.
