Fig: My first impression...not the best. On my computer (resolution is 1024x768) the content boxes are not aligned in the lighter blue boxes where they are obviously supposed to be. The text in the main box is too big, maybe make it the same size you have in the other content box (or a little bigger)? Also, maybe move the pixel doll into the "About the Owner" section so it doesn't overlap the header.

Mink: It seems...a little...I don't really know the word for it...I guess a little thrown on. The popsicles are quite cute, but the layout doesn't work well with them. It's not well put together to me.


Fig: I find your pixels very good and of a rather high quality. Nice job. (:

Mink: Easy to find, organized. Your pixels are original, but you don't have that many. You might want to label the dolls as Dolls, or something more creative :P. They aren't really pixels.


Fig: This is where you probably need to work on the most. You only have two affies (including your sister site) and two link buttons. No listers. Affies and listers are very important so you can make your site well-known.

Mink: Affies, okay. You need way more. You have 2. And one of them is your sister site. No listers. Definitely check on that. On reviews, you have some, but you don't say what score you got...on link buttons, you have um, 2. You really need more.


Fig: I think your site is original. ^^ I see a lot of effort, too.

Mink: It's a good site, lots of extras. Not extremely stand out in the originality portion. I see some effort, but unfortunately not a whole bunch.

Innocent Words Reviews

Fig: Where is your intro? I can't seem to find it…that's not good. Your layout is very cluttered and in a rather odd order. The link back section and Innocent Site of the Week should be farther down and your voting section takes up way too much room. There is just so much, I really think you need a layout that's not in a scrollbox.

Mink: Okay, I've gotta be honest with you. My first impression is that I want to leave. A jail cell just doesn't really appeal to me. I don't like how you have just the one column, one columns are okay, it just seems out of place and a little crowded. Also, your breaking news, I simply cannot read. It is much too fast.


Fig: Your reviews are very fair, and I like how you say at the start what kind of site you're reviewing. The only thing that bugs me is that your grading scale is out of 105; making it 100 would make everything more simple, I think.

Mink: You do seem to have a lot of extras and reviews, but again, they were hard to find, even with the navigation, because the navigation is rather crowded and unclear.


Fig: I don't think you should have a form for top affies because to me, top affies are your favorite affies, so you should pick them out yourself. Other than that, just get listed at some places and you're all good. :)

Mink: Affies, I don't know when you started your site, but if it's been for at least a year, you should probably get some more affies. You have nice link back buttons, but you might want to order some more. On listers, you barely have any, so work on that.


Fig: I can see you're definitely trying to make your site original, which shows you're also giving effort.

Mink: Uh, not an extremely original site, nice name, but it might be better if you took off the "Reviews" part and just left it as Innocent Words.

Rose Reviews

Fig: The intro is good, but the banner is rather plain. All there is is a picture of a rose and some text. Maybe try a gradient or some textures? Now the layout: Nice, functional layout, but it needs more color. You can stick with the pink, but maybe add different shades to give more variety.

Mink: First thing I notice, well pink. :D Not in a bad way though, I actually like it, and it goes with the name. You might want to make something on your site a color that compliments pink. Layout is good, vey organized.


Fig: Okay, I'm confused. In the 'reviews' section, you have three reviews, but in the 'reviewed' section there are a lot more. Where are the rest? Also, why do you have two reviews in each box? It would be a lot less confusing if they each had their own box. On the bright side, your reviews seem nice and fair.
Mink: I'm actually very happy on this section. Honestly, my first review site was horrible, and I know you just started, and about the same number of reviews done then I did, when my site was running for about 5 months or so. Good job.


Fig: Good work in this section. (:

Mink: You have a great amount of affies and listees for a site that just started, and lots of respected sites. On reviews, that is just fine, a couple done, a few pending, good. On link backs, you have some really nice custom ones. You might want to gewt a few more eventually though. I must recommend Buttoness , The Goodie Box , and Exhilarating* (remember to check if they're open!).


Fig: I see some effort, but there isn't much original about your site. Try to find a way to make your site unique, whether that's by having a cool theme, new feature, or different grading scale.

Mink: Not a very original name. Nice site, but doesn't stand out to me with originality, but it does with effort.

Aura

Fig: Okay, I'm not really loving the banner or layout. The banner could use a lot of work; maybe consider requesting one? It's too far from the top of the layout and it doesn't have much except text. Now onto the layout: most of it is fine, but I don't think the blue looks too good. Instead, try using the colors of the leaves on your banner.

Mink: Okay, I like the banner, but I don't think you need to have the banner saying Aura and then "Welcome to Aura" underneath it in huge letters. It's not really neccesary. This is just my opinion, but I don't really like how the text is in a faded rectangle. The background is nice, but a little...I don't know, sugary for my taste. It goes with the fall theme though. I like how the lollipop pixel matches the background. I like the layout. It's good.


Fig: The reviews are good, but maybe consider giving out more than a total of 10 points? I think then it would be a little more in-depth.

Mink: You have a good amount of reviews for such a new site. Good job. But also, I think it's a little odd that you have so few points on your rubric. The awards are okay quality, a little hodge-podgey, though.


Fig: Everthing looks good here. ^^

Mink: Affies, not only do you need more but I checked a few, and 2 of them don't have you. Those are Crystal Clear and Eternal Mayhem. You have some nice link back buttons, but you might want to get some that are a little less flashy. Nice listeds. More reviews would be nice even though I know you just started.


Fig: I see the effort in your site, but not the originality. Try to make your site stand out and be you.

Mink: Not an original idea, obviously, :P, but good site and I like the name. Lots of effort that shines through nicely.

Fig: I love your layout! I like how it's kind of all over the place but still organized, if that makes sense. xD Although you should also work on the Header 1's, they're rather plain. Maybe use some of the pink from your banner?

Mink: I like the impression, it interests me, but doesn't really catch my attention, if you know what I mean. I do like it though. I love the banner, great and playful choice. It's a great layout, organized and attractive, original as well.


Fig: Not only do you have a button contest, but you also have an icon contest and used to have a button base contest! That's really cool. I hope you continue to think of interesting ideas like those. Maybe some sort of layout contest would be nice for the CSS gurus out there. ;)

Mink: Lots and lots and lots of different kinds of contests, which I think is very cool. You have very good content and it works well.


Fig: You have a lot of capitalization errors in the button contest area, but that's about it for the sitely section.

Mink: I love your link backs. They're really cute. You could get some more though. You might want to get some more listed ats, so you can have some more publicity. I know you just seperated from Somersault, so you might not have as much. Good amount of affies.


Fig: An original site, indeed; your layout especially. I can see a lot of effort, too.

Mink: Very original. I think it is a great site. You show a lot of effort and have done a lot of work.

Fig:Very cute banner, but it doesn't appear that you have an introduction! Those are very important. Now, the layout. I really like it, but I hate how it scrolls just a little tiny bit. Other than that, the layout is nice and kind of peaceful. (:

Mink: It's a cute layout, and it grabs my attention. The background is nice, and the color scheme is attractive. It's very organized, with a large navigation that is very helpful. Good job.


Fig: You definitely earn a 5/5 here! Your buttons are so pretty, and so you! It's easy to tell they have a certain flair to them.

Mink: Lots of different borders, not especially out of the ordinary but good. Good amount of fonts, too. You have a semi-large portfolio, not huge but they're very good buttons. Your buttons have wonderful quality.


Fig: It'd be great if you got listed at some more places and maybe made some more link back buttons, but other than that everything's good. ^^

Mink: I would definitely get more link back buttons. It was hard for me decide which to choose in your review, because there were so little. It's good to have a variety, especially if you're a button request site. You have a medium to large amount of affies, all good sites. Good amount of reviews and listers.


Fig: Most definitely an orginal site! I can also see you've put a lot of effort into your site and the buttons.

Mink: Seems like good effort, original name and I liked the site. It does need some work, but it is a terrific site.

Fig:Could I have picked a cooler site for a first review? Probably not xD. Anyway, I'll get started. First off, awesome banner; I love all the different textures you used on it. I also am in love with your intro, how you really keep in the pirate theme. The layout is extremely well organized, and although I don't usually like gray, you did a very nice jo here.

Mink: I like the layout a lot. It's nice and simple, and not too distracting. You convey the pirate theme well, and I notice it right away. If you wanted to you could do diagonal thin stripes across the background, but it looks good. It's a little crowded, with the boxes everywhere, so a second column could improve the layout. But overall I like it.


Fig: If I had a ranking site, I would rate Soroptimist #1 in directories. Your amount of sites is sky-high and the way you've categorized them is everything visitors could ask for.

Mink: You have many different varieties of sites, with lots of them in each category. I like that you have the overall most recommended site, and it's very good content-wise.


Fig: You might want to decrease your amount of affies (it's not like you don't get enough publicity :P ) but otherwise everything's fine.

Mink: You have a good amount of fun and cute link back buttons. Some of them are a little boring, but that's okay. You don't have too little so it makes you seem pathetic, but you don't have so many that it drives one crazy trying to pick the coolest. On the topic of affies, I didn't check them all but they all seem open, and they have you. The same for your listees.


Fig: Could your site be any more original? With the theme, the "Most Recommended Page", and SearchSoroptimist, I don't think it could.;)

Mink: Good effort, good quality site. Original name, and the theme makes you stand out from others.
