|How I Came To Be|
When my eyes first set sight upon this world I knew no light. A dark, dank place I lay and a strong scent of must filled my nose. My eyes cast a red glow around me as I found my way out, only to be confronted with a great enemy. A large red skeith roared at the entrance of the cave I emerged from and sent me flying back into the depths. As I ran I could hear his claws tap behind me in a gallop as I hastened my pace. I looked ahead and saw a red glow, and after a moment realized my eyes where shinning on the end of the cave and I slammed into a halt. It was a dead end. I had no chance of fighting off the beast which for some reason thirsted for my blood. I turned, ready to face him. I could hear that he slowed to a walk and his breathing melodically growled and echoed throughout, and the sound of metal clanking against rock followed him. My eyes cast a shimmer on the bright red beast and his soulless gaze held me fast. I knew not what to say or what to do, and I merely waited for him to take my new found life. He seemed to watch me, his head tilting this way and that, the broken chain around his neck hitting the floor with the occasional tink. He lunged at me and I reacted as only my instincts told me so. I bit onto his face before he could tear out my throat. Furious sounds came out of both of us and resonated in the cave, but I could faintly hear another sound. One of sweet harmony and purity. I let the skeith go and he backed off a few feet. I listened to the sound and it was wonderful. A melody I had never heard before. The red creature seemed to calm as he sat there bleeding from his left eye, no longer paying attention to my being. He simply waited as the song got louder. Then, behind the skeith appeared a young girl. A smile, as bright as the sun I just barely glimpsed, shown on her face. She patted the skeith on the head and kissed his new found wound, making him give a soft purr. She then got up and approached me and I did not feel the need to flee, for I felt I wanted her there. She pet my head and embraced me in her warmth. I found myself whimpering, though I hadn't meant to. "Shh... you're safe now. I gave you life and from this moment forth, I shall protect it." she whispered into my ear and stood, looking down at me with a look in her eyes that I have never met. It was love.
In this day I live with Master, who has always shown me kindness. The skeith I encountered was none other than my elder brother, Sublime. He has a bit of a temper and doesn't like me, even now, although I can't blame him for I left him with a scar upon his eye. Maybe one day Master will calm his soul and we shall be brothers at last. Shortly after Master took me in I had the chance to meet a much friendlier sibling. Her name was Intrepid and she is a kind uni. We live happily together in the forest near my cave, and I still spend many nights in there at the place where my life was granted to me. Somehow the spiders on the walls and the webs they weave seem to comfort me when the dew sparkles in the moonlight. I now have a younger sibling, one of which seems more like two. Severed is his name, and it suits him well for he is a special uni. He has two personalities both of which are strange and completely opposite. Nonetheless he is the youngest and I shall be a proper elder to him. Master of course is one I could never complain about. She sings me to sleep with the rest every night with that beautiful melody I heard on my first day. Although she is the only one in my eyes, to her, we are all equally beloved.
