Appearance.
Varien is not at all your typical krawk, considering he has ears and 'wings'. He has two floppy, furry, almost dog like ears, and two limbs coming off of his back where wings would be located, and they also resemble wings. His body, compared to his sister, is a little more muscularly built and is just over all larger.
His skin is a light olive, his stomach is a darker, more green olive color, and the majority of his markings are black. His wings and his tail have thick black stripes running down them, and he has two pointed stripes on both of his thighs.
Probably the most noticable thing about him is the 'drippy-goopy-black-stuff' that is in place of his eyes and on his wings. This 'stuff' is actually a representation of his soul, slowly dripping away. It never stops, or runs out; however. The texture is in fact goopy. It's sticky, very clingy, and difficult to remove.

Appearance.
Unlike her brother, Ida appears to be a normal, average looking krawk. Her skin is mostly made up of a light pink. From the base of her tail to the tip, the color of pink darkens. Her hind legs, starting from her thighs, gradually get lighter until her toes, which are white.
Both of her arms have two white markings, starting midway down her biceps. It gives the appearance that she is wearing two long white gloves. On both of her eyes she has two white markings as well. It is a stripe that starts behind the eye, and gets smaller to a point near the back of her jaw bone.
On top of her head sits five feathers. They're the color of the deep pink that is towards the end of her tail. Speaking of her tail, another feather is attached to a string, attached to her tail. The color of this feather is white.
Love.
Neither Varien nor Avidan have found love in their lives. Only the love that they have toward each other. They of course share the brother and sisterly love and bond, but they have a need and dependance toward each other.
It is obvious that Varien needs Avidan for her eyes and guidance, but their minds are connected. When too far apart, they cannot make decisions, can't think, can't function. Their existance as a whole seems to dissolve when they are separated. Thus the reason they are inseperable.
Companion.
Meet Tom, the bloop. One day an abnormally large glob rolled off of Varien's wings, and Avidan noticed this. When she went over to see if something was wrong, she noticed that the glob was moving. Terrified, she backed away but continued to watch.
It ended up having eyes and 'stood' a good five-six inches high. It didn't have a mouth which means she wouldn't have to feed it, and it wouldn't be very loud. Also, the drippings from it wouldn't be a problem because she was already used to her brother's.
The only noises that it would ever make would be high pitched screams/squeaks when it got excited or startled. It kept toward the shadows and only liked Varien. They kept it and named it Tom.

Why Varien_Avidan.
Probably one of the more important sections, why Varien? Why not one of the other 11 krawks who are up for adoption? Well, let me explain. Some time ago I had a little baby idea in my head for a new pet. So I fiddled around with a zafara makeable, and I came up with this.
Upon trying to draw said character, I realized that I absolutely cannot draw zafaras. I decided it'd be easier to switch to a species that I'm comfortable drawing, a krawk or draik for instance. Around the time that I made that decision Varien popped up. Slightly interested because of the name, I checked it out.
I noticed that the rules were almost unreal for such a pet, and that this gave me a lot of room to basically do what I wanted with the application, which further sparked my interest toward Varien.
With a combination of her name, my new born character idea, and all of the thoughts and stories bundled up in my head; I ended up with the design that you see now. I think Varien is a beautiful creature, and I am honestly completely satisfied and content with what I've come up for her. I hope you feel the same way as I do. (:

Future Plans.
As soon as Varien finds her way onto my account, the first thing I will do is jump around and scream and make a post on Neopound somewhere exclaiming my excitement. I will then do the following;
1. The first thing I will do is move this application to her petpage and pound Ilyoe, as Ily's purpose was just to host the application. Over an unknown amount of time I will work on taking certain parts out of the application and putting certain things in to make it more of a petpage and less of an application.
2. I'll remove the split paint brush from my gallery and I will paint her, and I will be attaching Tom, her bloop.
3. I'm going to write a role play between Varien and my xweetok Urbicide with their meeting. They become great friends, because Urbicide also is a "dark" character that I've come up with. Their personalities also get along very well, so we will see what happens there!
4. When I find the time to come up with a decent picture of Varien or Avidan, I will enter the picture into the BC. I'll then advertise like crazy and go for the gold.. (:
5. I noticed that Varien has amazing stats, and I wouldn't want that to go to waste. It is why their personality is so quick to fighting, and why Varien is so muscular. I'm not 100% sure if I will go directly into battling or not, because I've never done it before and it'd take me some time to get a good BD set and figure out how to do it- but I plan on working on Varien's stats through codestone training.

Hiiya, my name's Maggie. I'm a female currently in high school. I'm extremely goal oriented, I'm smart, and I'm very atheletic. As of right now I'm in track and field, cross country, and on the swim team. I was born and raised around computers and I'm constantly on mine.
My life on Neopets started a couple of years ago, and I've always been here since. The only time I've ever taken a break is when all of the redraws came. Mostly it was just odd timing, because I took a hiatus because of family and life issues; but I was also furious at the layout.
I'm still not fond of the layout, but I've come to accept all of the redraws and I don't much mind them anymore. I will admit that I liked the old pets better, but in my eyes they're not as horrible as other people see them.
This was my first account, and it's so old I honest have no idea what the 93142 is for, but Skixxix was my first dog's name. My only other account was jussmaybebabi that I made as a joke but ended up keeping. On that account I had over 250 avatars, 15 trophies, and amazing pets. However one day while being lent a pet, I held down the refresh button for too long and they froze me for having an "auto refresher".
I then moved back to this account and I gave up avatar collecting and based my Neo experience toward my pets instead of making my account better.

Why Me.
Why me? Why choose me over all other applicants for Varien? Hmm, that's a rather good question.
First thing being that I am an active elder Neopian. I've been on Neopets for many years and I'm on Neopets practically all the time. Talking in TXF, chatting on the boards, neomailing my friends, playing games, restocking, or just cruising around. I don't come on for a few minutes everyday to do some 'dailies' and then sign off. I'm dedicated.
I won't end up abandoning Varien. I don't have any other accounts, so I won't be switching or trying to transfer her. I don't have the lab ray so I won't ever be zapping her. I'm not a huge avatar collector anymore, so I won't be lending her around. I won't just use her.
The design and character and I've created for Varien has grown on me. Every word written on this application, every pixel colored in her name, every moment I spend thinking about her makes me more attached. I can't wait to start role playing her, and I especially can't wait just to be able to say that she's actually mine.

Varien's only family member would end up being Urbicide, my ghost xweetok. Urbicide, Varien, and Avidan would all get along famously. The trio all have similar personality traits which makes them able to get along very well. They're all different from everyone that they end up meeting and they're all just a tad anti social because of it; which just makes their bond strongers.
Transfer History.
I'd like to start this section off by saying that I am familiar with the Quick Adoption Link, and that I know how to use it. As I said earlier, I used to be a major avatar collector, which means I lent and borrowed pets. I've lent pets out many many times before, and I have honestly never lost them- or any pet- in a transfer.
Since Varien is a rare and highly sought after pet, I have a method that almost completely guarantees her safety to my account; if I'm chosen, that is. My all time best friend plays Neopets, and I do honestly trust her with everything. During the transfer I will be refreshing the QAL at a set time discussed and chosen by you and I; and my friend will also be refreshing.
Why on Neopia would I want her to do that? Well, like I said, since she is a very rare pet, I don't want to take any chances or risks when it comes transfer time. So just in case I do happen to miss her, my friend will be there refreshing as well. If we both miss by some odd chance, then we will have to neomail who ever gets her and hope for the best I suppose.

This would be the conclusion from me, mostly saying good bye and thank yous and all of that. So, first and probably most important, I'd like to thank you, Mystic. Thank you for creating Varien, and it's a shame that you finally got the pet you wanted and Neopets ruined that for you. I think it's awesome that you put her up for adoption, though; so that someone like me could have a chance to take her in and she can continue to be loved.
