As you're travelling through the rainforests of Mystery Island, you seem to find yourself at the ruins of a destroyed research facility. What was once a proud structure that many scientists visited is now a smashed heap of metal strangled by vines. You inch closer to it, your bayonet still kept in front of you in case something were to jump out of the rusting husk at the last moment.
After what seemed to be an eternity of waiting in front of the facility, you decide to go inside. You step tenderly over smashed heaps of old technology and gadgets as you enter the futuristic tomb. As you swallow the rising bile from your throat, you begin to imagine that the entire structure is breathing, like a giant wounded animal preserving its last energy so it can strike you down.
Inside, the air is a lot cooler. Moss is undulating on the walls, a slippery green goo that you dare not touch. Just as you decide that stepping inside this place isn't worth it, you hear a flutter of wings coupled with the rasping sound of something being dragged across the ground...
As the Korbat grins at you from a perch near the wall, you happen to spot a torn-up journal lying on the ground. You leaf through it, and sure enough, it's a scientific journal that talks about the little creature that's occupying the empty facility.
Subject #2451 was born a blue Buzz one day in May. He is the older brother of a family of four, second in age only to his older sister Zageriaz. He was an adventurous young type, prone to flitting around randomly around the Mystery Island area, stealing fruit from the trees just like any buzz would do. Before we began his tests on him, he had changed from blue to Skunk in order to copy the color of his hero in the now-retired game Jelly Processing Plant
As soon as his owner got access to the Lab Ray, he was enlisted in a special program that allows us to perform less-than-ethnical treatments on Neopets. Instead of receiving the normal zap to the body that most Lab Pets get, we placed wires under his skin (or his carapace, in his case) and zapped him intravaneously.
First color change was to Christmas. IceFrozenwrath liked being a color where his name sort of fit the context of where he lived. Course, his owner gave permission to continue the zapping. She didn't want to clean up any shed holly leaves.
IceFrozenwrath became a Robot Buzz on September 20th, 2005. In the more controversial of transformations, the Lab Ray had converted all of his living tissue to metal and had changed him into a nonliving thing. When his owner saw the change, she panicked and threatened that if he didn't change into something living RIGHT NOW, she was going to pull the plug on the experiment.
I suppose it was good luck that one day later, he turned into a Korbat.

The writing later dissolves into nothing more than black patches and water damage. It looks as though someone had left the book open above a leak. You flip through the pages until you see where the writing becomes legible again...
May 12, 2007. Experiment #2451 returns to the labs to begin his zapping anew. Apparently, now that the Tyrannian Korbats have evolved into something less pleasing to the eye, the owner has requested that IceFrozenwrath be put under the ray until he turns into a color suitable for his personality once more.
From the looks of it, TP was quite satisfied with the Disco color. But she didn't stop zapping...
May 27, 2007. IceFrozenwrath gets zapped, but by a different person altogether. Boochi decides to step into our project without any proper warrants and zaps him into a Baby state.
June 1, 2007. We begin zapping to erase the awful unauthorized zap that Boochi had delivered him. Color change was a success, and IceFrozenwrath became gold.
June 10, 2007. We receive a lucky Faerie zap. Turquoisephoenix calls off the zaps for the time being, on account that she likes Faerie Korbats.
