********DISCLAIMER: I WAS NOT FORCED TO MAKE THIS APPLICATION!!!********

The gentle breeze drifted through the blazing summer heat, barely making a dent or even offering a reprieve to the beaming sun's burning gaze. While searching for shelter from the scorcher of a midday, you happen upon a single lonely tree! Like a thirsty desert traveler who has just discovered an oasis, you rush to the source of shade, sighing in relief as its cool embrace surrounds you. Heh, not one for the heat, are ye? A gruff voice startles you as you jump and look down. Sitting at your feet is an old Faerie Meerca, polishing a sword.

Welcome, Ren, to my application for MysticalKau, and by extension my application for Masamune73 the UC faerie Meerca. I've been stalking Masamune for years now, and he (I will change her gender if I ever get my paws on her) has eluded me at every turn. I've always been a huge fan of the video game Chrono Trigger and one of the most interesting characters in the game happen to be twins by the names of Masa and Mune. When they come together, they lend great power to the main character as a sentient sword called Masamune. When I first saw Masamune the Meerca, I wanted him for that reason and that reason alone. But as the years have passed, and I've had time to sit and ponder whether or not wanting Masamune was simply a whim, I've done more research into the name and why I feel so drawn to it. It was then that I learned that the real life Masamune was actually a master swordsmith that made his mark in Japanese history. This is where I've gotten my inspiration for Masamune's character.

A swordsmith? You muse as you peer down at the Meerca, wondering how anything so small and dainty looking could possibly do such a labor intensive job. As if reading your mind, the Meerca looks up at you and a lop sided grin spreads across his face. I ain't THAT delicate, you know. Not all faeries are fluttering flower pickers, but all of us are beings o' magic. Over the years, you learn to hone that magic to suit your needs. With time it becomes your mark, as distinct as your own fingerprint. The Meerca explains as he stares intently at the sword he was just polishing. It is obvious he was no longer sitting beside you, but rather lost in some memory of the past. But just as suddenly as the blink of an eye, he returns and says, Listen at me goin' on and on, I haven't even told ye my name. I'm Masamune, who might ye be?

Masamune will come to be part of my permanent family as the weapon's master of the Royal Academy. He will be a gruff individual who knows the importance of self defense. His jobs include teaching swordfighting skills to the students and maintaining the weapons in the Royal Armory. He usually has very little patience with foolishness, and can often times be found scolding the students for playing rather than training. Although he is tough on them, he truly cares for each of the students and wants them to be prepared for the worst if it ever happens.

Masamune is also good friends with CaptainDragon, the captain of the guard at the Royal Academy. They usually spend their time off playing Sorcerers' Skirmish together, although Masamune rarely wins against Captain's tactical prowess. Whenever he loses, Masamune storms out angrily, calling Captain a Crafty Old Dog, and pouts until Captain brings him some sort of snack as an apology.

While Masamune is indeed in charge of maintaining the weapons in the armory, he also fashions weapons for the King himself. These are no ordinary weapons, however. With every one that he creates, Masamune infuses a little bit of his magic into them. This, in turn, creates a powerful, almost sentient, weapon that requires much training to use. When he was a young swordsmith, Masamune mistakenly created a sword for a knight who did not receive the proper training. The sword rejected its master and went on a rampage, possessing all who touched it and destroying countless villages. Since then, Masamune has been very careful about who he makes weapons for.

D-do you still make swords? You ask sheepishly, warily looking down at the sword in the Masamune's lap. Without even looking at you, Masamune nodded. Yea, I still make 'em from time to time. But now I know what to do. Frustrated, he taps on the sword and growls, Oi! How long are ye goin' ta hide in there, you rapscallion?!?! Startled by this unusual behavior, you wonder if the poor old Meerca had finally lost it. But just when you were thinking about running away as fast as you could, the sword began to glow an iridescent blue. Right before your eyes, a Blue Melton emerges from the sword. You can't help but gawk as the tiny flamelike creature hurries behind Masamune and shyly peeks out at you. Ye'll have to excuse him, Tachi has no manners. Speakin' o' manners, you haven't even introduced yourself! Talk about rude!

My name is Sera, and I've been playing Neopets for about 8 years. My favorite things to do on here is chat with friends and draw my pets. I owe a lot to Neo, as it has taught me quite a lot things over these past few years. I don't think I'd have ever been inclined to improve my digital artwork or learn the basics of HTML coding if it weren't for this site. I've met some amazing people here and there is still a lot more that I wish to accomplish.

If I am fortunate enough to adopt Mystical and get Masamune, the first thing I'd do is run around in circles, joyously. Then I'd proceed to provide him with the same love and attention that all of my permanent pets get. This includes a petpet and petpetpet (He will have Tachi the Blue Melton and Tanto the Jiggybug), a personalized lookup and petpage, his own trophy layout (I'd really like to refine his story and enter it into the pet spotlight), and of course TONS of art and love. These are just a few of the immediate goals I'd have for Masamune. Some of my long term goals include specifically evening out his stats and training him to even 300s (including intelligence), completing 300 jobs with him so that he gains the title of Artisan, and creating the perfect customization for him. He'd most likely reside on my main so that it would be easier to train him. All of my accounts are as follows:

I would also like to state that I'd be keeping Masamune for as long as there is a Neo. I know that this statement is often off-putting because of so many insincere people floating around nowadays, but the only way I can prove it to you is to show you just what I've done with the rest of my pets. I hope that the love and dedication I have have for them shines through when you look at them. I've only been fortunate enough to adopt one pet that I've applied for, Flowers, but I know that whenever someone allows another to adopt a pet of theirs, they are putting complete and utter trust into that other person. The fact that someone would trust me enough to leave their pet with me is a really big deal to me, and just like with Flowers, I will do my utmost to live up to that trust.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my application. I hope that you will seriously consider helping me bring Masamune into my Neofamily.

When you finish talking, you look down at Masamune who is staring out into the distance. There is no doubt in your mind that he heard every word you said and is taking it all in. Just as he opens his mouth to say something, a raindrop plops right on the tip of your nose. You look up to see the sky turning a deep grey. Maybe we ought to continue this inside. I know a nice lil' inn near here. They have great tea and tasty pastries. Ye up for a dash there? Masamune stands up as Tachi retreats back into the sword. Smiling, you nod, and the two of you dash for the inn, careful to avoid the rain.
