TelronBefore we begin, I WAS NOT FORCED TO MAKE THIS APPLICATION. Now that THAT'S over, let's continue to learn more about Tel:
Age: 10000 years
Personality: Telron is nothing if not adaptable. He places self preservation above all else, and has no qualms about manipulating others to get what he wants. This is not to say that he is all bad, there are several people he cares deeply for, even to the point of slightly hesitating when the idea of sacrificing them for his own gain is concerned. Note that I said, slight hesitation.
Backstory: Tel is a Djinn. He is a powerful magic user capable of many different forms and many different abilities, but his favoirte form is that of a large dragon. The most famous of his abilities is that which allows him to grant a single wish to those strong enough to beat him in battle. Travelers come from far and wide in hopes of gaining their heart's desire from him. But there is a catch, nothing is free you know...
Whenever Telron grants a wish, he must give up a piece of his soul. The soul fragment is the only item strong enough to power wish magic. I guess you could say he puts a little of himself in every wish that he grants! Huh! Huh!! *bricked* The downside to this is that the number of soul fragments any Djinn has is finite. And although soul fragments can return to their master if a wish is canceled or if the wish-maker perishes, if a Djinn loses all of his soul fragments great ruin will befall him.
A Djinn devoid of soul fragments will become nothing more than an apparition in the living world. These 'Soulless Ones' can be seen wandering the countryside in search for something to fill the void within their bodies. Their touch drains the life from other living things, including other Neopets. It is a sad end but an inevitable one for all Djinn...
Telron's first encounter with a Soulless One shook him to the very core. And it was that day that he vowed never to become one of those monsters. At first he sought to flee from those who would want to make a wish, but he soon found that if people deired their wish bad enough they would find him. They would always find him. It was then that Telron decided to make his wishes less desirable. He learned how to twist the desires of others to the point of such disfiguration that those who made the wish would beg him to take it away or perish at the hand of their own greed.
A fitting end for the thieves who wish to pilfer a piece of MY soul.' Tel would scoff as he collected his fragment from the withered remains.
Telron has also made a point to search for the fragments that he had relinquished before he knew about the plight of the soulless ones. Of those, only two remain. One has become sentient and takes the form of a dark floating flame. He is quite a stubborn little ember and refuses to return to his master. But the connection they share is too strong for him to stay away from Tel for too long. As a result, this flame can be seen following Telron around on his travels. Telron has grown accustomed to this quirky flame's company and has even given him the name EMBER.
The second soul fragment is actually located in an establishment known as the Royal Academy. It serves as the core power supply there, allowing the entire Academy to be relatively self sufficient. This fragment happens to belong to the only individual whose wish Telron could not corrupt, no matter how often he tried. Tel has lingered at the academy in hopes of getting his last fragment back, but as the time passes, he becomes more and more a part of the academy itself. Perhaps someday he will forget why he came here in the first place.
StoryMy plan for Telron's story will have three arcs. The first I wish to recount his life with his family in a city in of Djinn. Telron ran away from his home in order to explore the world below. But leaving at such an early age meant that he was unable to learn the truth behind granting wishes.
In fact, Telron doesn't learn the truth until after he has already granted his first wish and he had to learn it from a wandering Djinn. When Telron grants a wish, he must offer up a fragment of his soul to power the magic needed for that wish. The soul fragment will return once the wish-maker passes on or decides to cancel the wish, but if Telron uses all of his fragments up, he will decay into a mindless beast, known as a Soulless One.
In Telron's second arc, I'd like to recount his adventures with the wandering Djinn and how he learns about the Soulless Ones and where they gather. After learning this, Telron becomes very possessive over his fragments, and even grows to resent those who seek the Djinn solely to make a wish.
The third story arc revolves around Telron in the Royal Academy. He's traveled to the academy because there is a fragment of his soul there and it is being used to ground the energy of the Magic Division of the Academy. Tel has not yet found a way to get his fragment back, so he is simply biding his time there. I think this arc has a lot of potential for fun interactions between Tel and the other Academy inhabitants.
Meet SeraI am an adult neopian who has a completely and utterly obsessed with Neo. It is my escape from the the real world and I find it a wonderful place to unwind while simultaneously try new things. I like to dabble in just about every aspect of this site, which is why I think I've been able to stay for so long. There is just so much to do on here and I want to experience it all. I especially enjoy drawing on here. I've always enjoyed drawing but most of my artwork was done with pencil and paper and I had no scanner or any other means of getting it put online_ But about a year ago a friend of mine got me a tablet and an art program and since then I never looked back! The most rewarding thing about doing art is that my style is always evolving and changing and becoming more my own. Coupled with the fact that my pets serve as an endless supply of inspiration, I don't think I'll be getting bored anytime soon.
Another aspect of the site that I particularly enjoy is improving my pets. Whenever I get a permanent pet I strive to make that pet my own. I think this goes beyond just having an interesting design or a cool backstory. I want to make their characteristics really part of the pet. This is why I think it is so important to incorporate training, jobs, and trophies into each of my pets. Every one of them has their own unique set of goals and each goal is specifically tailored to compliment the personality I developed for that pet. That way, each passing day can be seen as a new challenge to see just how far I can go with my pets.
Meet the FamilyNow that you know a bit about me, it's time to introduce my family to you. My pets are spread across 5 different accounts: seraphicbrie, pleural, journeys, immediately, and stemmed. The entire crew are all part of my overarching theme of the Royal Academy, but it can be broken down into 4 subgroupes: the Nursery, the Academy Students, the Magic Academy Students, and the Academy Staff.
The NurseryBailzer (The Bossy Leader)
Personality: Bail is the oldest of the Nursery babies and he takes full advantage of all of his seniority rights! This includes bossing the other babies around and being first for everything. Dispite his penchant for abusing his position, he does genuinely care about all of the Nursery inhabitants and will go out of his way to make sure everyone is safe, happy, and healthy.
Meegwin (The Sweetheart)
Personality: Meegwin is Bailzer's little sister. And she is as sweet and caring as her brother is bossy and pushy. Bailzer dotes on her quite a bit, and as a result Meeg is prone to being a cry baby more often than not. Her favorite game is playing Tea Party, but due to the fact that her tea parties tend to last an entire day she has trouble finding anyone to play with her.
Raleyal (The Imagined)
Personality: Raleyal is Meegwin's imaginary friend. Meeg made her so that she wouldn't have to have Tea Parties by herself. For some unforseen reason (or maybe some accident with the Magic Academy), Ral has since taken on a life of her own. And while she does agree to have tea parties with Meeg every once in a while, she would much rather go on thrilling adventures, much to the dismay of her fraidy aisha creator.
Maltinae (The Pudgy)
Personality: Maltie is a pudgy little ball of energy. He loves running, jumping and playing, but most of all he loves EATING! He has an especially soft spot for sweets such as cakes and pies. When he isn't stuffing his face, he is often following around and trying to immitate Treeny. He really looks up to her and wants to be just like her. Tree is actually very careful to be a good role model for Maltie, even though she may slip up from time to time.
Treeny (The Hyper Explorer)
Personality: Tree is the second oldest of the Nursery group and she is by far the most hyperactive. Nothing slows this little kougra down! She an often be found running through the fields and climbing the trees with her little sidekick, Maltie. Tree thinks of herself as a big sister to the little Acara and is determined to teach him everything she knows.
Mynzle (The Quiet Thinker)
Personality: Mynzle is a little pet frought with misfortune. He just can't catch a break, but instead of wallowing in self pity, he is determined to change is luck around. He can often be found reading books and trying good luck charms. Sadly nothing has worked so far, I wonder if he'll ever realize that he is super fortunate just to have friends and family that loves him...
Pheenycks (The Evil Mastermind)
Personality: Phee is pure concentrated evil, that just can't get it together. All of her wonderfully intricate plans fall apart at the seams. The worst part is no one ever knows why (although it might be the work of a certain little imp from the Magic Academy or a prank prone little Blumaroo from the normal Academy).
The Academy StudentsBakkie (The Merry Minstrel)
Personality: Bakkie is a happy-go-lucky little cybunny who enjoys nothing more than skipping out on his responsibilities and playing his panpipes. Although he has a penchant for mischief, he's never really outright mean or spiteful. Needless to say he, Harvey, and Belly get along famously. Whenever the three of them are together there is bound to be something fun!
Rosie (The Unsure Princess)
Personality: Rosie is a shy little bunny with an intense love of music. She admires all things musical. In addition to this, she's also quite taken with a certain panpipe playing bunny boy, but he's a little to dense to notice.
Zoomie (The Speed Demon)
Personality: Zoomie is a bunny with a serious need for speed. Anything fast has her little pawprints all over it. I guess that's why she is the captain of the track team! She's very competitive but is always a good sport.
Romene (The Cursed Queen)
Personality: Romene is a queen cursed to inhabit the body of a child due to her selfishness. She never stops looking for a way to revert back to her true form but in the meantime she's enjoying life at the academy. She is bossy, short-tempered, and self-centerd...but with each passing day she learns a little more about altruism.
Harvey (The Wandering Prankster)
Personality: No one really knows where Harvey came from or where he's headed. He's not really a student but he can often be seen around the academy. He is more or less harmless so the administration allows him to stay around. Harvey enjoys bouncing about, playing his kazoo and annoying the living daylights out of those around him. No wonder he and Bakkie get along so well!
The Magic Academy StudentsFlorin (The Reticent Fox)
Personality: Florin is a fox spirit who has come to the Royal Academy Magic division in order to hone his skills and master the art of Magic. While he is exceptionally talented, he is unable to truly harness his full potential due to his in ability to completely understand others and make friends. However, he has two little pests who are hard at work rectifying that little glitch.
Garrlie (The Righteous Fairy)
Personality: Garrlie is a goodie goodie teacher's pet type faerie. She works hard to get the best marks in the class and prides herself on her magical ability. Too bad, Florin bests her at almost every field. When she is not getting worked up over her 'rival', she can often be found tattling on a rather naughty little Usul.
Belly (The Playful Imp)
Personality: Belly is a little imp who has come to the Magic Academy to gain ultimate power. He does have a great deal of power but he severly lacks the focus and the attention span to make any of it useful. He does, however, enjoy a good prank from time to time.
The Academy StaffM (The Imposing Creampuff)
Personality: M looks scary. REALLY scary, but he is actually very gentle and caring. He can often be found taking care of the babies in the Nursery or in the kitchen making meals for everyone in the academy. M is a wonderful cook and he even has a little apprentice, who is a rather hopeless bungler.
Captain (The Guardian Dragon)
Nickname: Cap or Captain
Personality: Cap is a lazy old dragon who loves to dump his work on others. He'd rather spend the day running away from his responsibities and snoozing in the sunlight than to actually do the job...even if it would take less time overall.
Cutie (The Chef's Apprentice)
Personality: Cutie is the head Chef's apprentice. He really wants to learn to be the best cook in the entire academy. But he has a looooooooong way to go. This little bunny can't tell the difference between a tablespoon and a gallon. His one saving grace is his determination!
Flowers (The Enchanted Gardener)
Personality: Flowers is a forest spirit whose home was destroyed. She is connected to her life's tree which somehow found its way to the Royal academy. So she's taken up residence here as the Royal Gardener, and ever since she arrived, the gardens have never been greener.
If I am fortunate enough to adopt Tel he will be part of the Academy Staff subgroup. I plan to make him instructor of the Magic Academy which will allow him to get closer to his Soul Fragment.
Why SeraI never quite know what to say for this part of the applicaiton. I think you should choose me because I will love the stuffing out of Tel! I will gaze upon him every day with adulation and I will diligently work toward displaying that love and devotion to everyone on neo, whether it be through gathering trophies for him, creating artwork for him, training him to be strong, completing jobs with him, or just prancing around with him.
I know it is difficult to adopt out pets and find a loving home, but assure you that I meant what I said and I said what I meant. It takes a great deal of trust for a foster to adopt out a pet to someone, and I value that trust in the highest. I have only ever been chosen to adopt one of my pets, rustic_flowers, and every day I work to complete my carefully laid goals for her. The fact that someone entrusted me with their beloved pet is more than enough reason to shower her with all the affection she deserves. Tel will be no different. I once applied for an unconverted plushie cybunny many years ago. I promised to cherish him for a neolifetime, I promised the world for that cybunny, if only he would be mine. I was not chosen. He was traded shortly after he was adopted. It took me 5 long years to track him down and scrape together something worthwhile to trade for him. Now that I have him, I hug him every day and thank goodness that cutiebun444 is finally mine. Tel would be treated just the same.
I love all my pets and I am devoted to making them the best they can possibly be, and if I am lucky enough to adopt Tel, he will get just as love and affection (who I am kidding, he'd definitely get more) as every one of my other pets.
Why TelronI know that there is a lot of stigma behind the term dream pet, mainly because many people have used it as a sort of plea for sympathy, but for as long as I knew what painted pets were, I've dreamed of owning a darigan draik. This desire stems far into the past, before the conversion, before pet trading, before any of all that. Back then I wanted a royal boy cybunny, a plushie bori and a darigan draik. Those feelings have never changed. I did not save enough points at that time to beat the conversions and when I saw the new darigan draiks I balked. The majesty, the ferocity, and inspiring design were no longer there. They just looked like those little troll dolls that the dollar store sells...
For a time I thought all hope was lost, and I would have to give up on my dream of one day owning that beautiful creature I had seen so many years ago. That is until I found out that some draiks kept their old artwork. Ever since then I've been trying to obtain an UC darigan draik of my very own.
I've tried trading, I've tried applications and I've even tried to train a pet strong enough to get a darigan draik...Every time I would fall just short. It's been 7 years since I joined neo, and not a day has gone by that I don't dream about the darigan draik that I will someday call my own. I wonder what his name would be. I wonder if he'll have read any books or have any stats. I wonder how many jobs I can complete with him and what kind of petpet I'd give him. But most of all I wonder what kind of memories we will make together.
I believe what makes a pet special is the memories that you create with said pet. Whether they be memories of you making plans for the future or memories with friends or just memories of you simply taking the time to admire your pet. These are all things that separate your pet from the thousands of other pets that look just like yours floating around the site. And I'd really like to make some memories with Tel.
Now! Enough of my gushing, you're probably here to see what makes Tel more special than all those other UC darigan draiks stalking about Neo. Well, the name and the design of a pet play a big role in the kind of character I develop for my pets. When I saw Telron's name I immediately thought of a being who possessed powerful magic, someone who is capable of great good and unspeakable evil. At the time I had also been toying with the possiblity of adding a 'teacher' figure to my Royal Academy (who ever heard of a school without teachers?). These two aspects melded together effortlessly in my mind. I just think Tel would make a great fit at the academy. I've really come to love the design and the personality that I've created for him and I'd really like the chance to watch it grow and develop.
PlansTelron is such a wonderfully special pet! If I were ever lucky enough to call him my own, he'd forever live on my main account where I could stare at him daily. (That's not creepy at all is it?) But I'm sure you didn't come here to hear about me staring at Tel all day! Aside from that, I have big big BIG plans for him!
Each of my pets has their own unique set of plans and goals. I find that this helps keep neo interesting and challenging for me. For Tel I'd like to do the following:
- Give Tel Ember the baby fireball
- Give Ember a Moquot
- Train Tel to even 700s (he'd have Flowers as a training buddy)
- Win Petpet spotlight for Ember
- Win Pet Spotlight for Tel
- Win Customization Spotlight for Tel
- Earn Book Award
- Earn Booktastic Book Award
- Earn Gourmet Food award
- Create a friend section and collect friends for Tel
I know these sound like pretty lofty goals but I assure you that I will work diligently to earn each and every one for Tel. I've done it for some of my other pets and I believe Tel deserves just as much (who am I kidding, he deserves MORE!!! MOARRRRR) love and attention!
EmberEmber is actually one of Telron's soul fragments. Over time he has developed a mind of his own and that mind tells him that he does NOT want to stop being Ember. He simply refuses to return to Tel, often running away or disappearing in a puff of smoke when Tel tries to capture and reintegrate him. Conversely, Ember cannot stray very far from Telron. The degree of Ember's sentience depends on energy drawn from Tel. If he travels to far away or if Telron is weakened in any way, Ember's sentience deminishes. In theory, Ember could probably revert back to an ordinary soul fragment if he went too far away from Tel or if Tel got hurt bad enough, but Ember is unwilling to test out that theory.
Personality-wise, Ember is pretty upbeat and affectionate. He likes to be as close to Telron as he can be, but still doesn't want to be reintegrated. To try and prove that he is useful, he can often be found searching for and collecting soul fragments for Telron and he will even try to scare away travelers who might wish to steal away one of Tel's gem fragments. He's not very scary, though.
Believe it or not, Ember is also good with mundane tasks such as cleaning and cooking. He prides himself on making an excellent brew of tea.
