Krawk Island is gearing up to go all the way...
June 14, 2008
With only a few days left for Sign-Ups it looks like Krawk Island is gearing up to go all the way this year. The team
is already practicing hard on the field and fans have been sporting red and black to show their support all over
Neopia! Their first match up will be against Team Maraqua on the 17th and should be a great way for Krawk Island
to ease into the season. Stay tuned to see how the team does in the third annual Altador Cup!

Yooyuball Guide
|
Yooyuball
Welcome to the Altador Cup's main event!
Can't see the whole game? Choose the 768x561 game size!
Losses don't count against your team, so give it a try!
Fraustrated? Try Make Some Noise or Slushie Slinger!
Yooyuballs:
Before the game begins the yooyuball is randomly chosen. Each yooyuball behaves a little differently and you'll have
to adjust your strategy depending on which one you get.
Normal Yooyuball
This little guy will act exactly how a ball should act. He moves in the direction you shoot at an average speed. He also
is the most common type of yooyuball in the game.
Fire Yooyuball
The Fire Yooyuball is the fastest ball on the field. He tends to be my favorite to play with because when I get my
angles down just right I can score pretty quickly. We'll get into the angles and strategies later...
Snow Yooyuball
Brr... the Snow Yooyuball is mighty chilly. This little guy is the slowest ball on the field. However that is his only
downside and as long as you pick just the right moment to shoot he'll slide right into the goal.
Faerie Yooyuball
You need to watch out for this pretty little yooyuball. He tends to throw you a curve. You'll be alright so long as
you shoot straight at the goal... he'll fly past the goalie!
Darigan Yooyuball
This little bugger seems to do the opposite of what you want him to do. With that in mind you'll want to shoot in the
diagonal opposite of where you want him to go... a little reverse physcology should score you the goal!
Mutant Yooyuball
I would say the Mutant Yooyuball is one of the more challenging balls in the game. He's very random and you're never
sure exactly what he's going to do. Just keep trying and eventually you'll get him where you want him!
Clockwork Yooyuball
It isn't that he's a challenging ball to play with... he just doesn't like to be in play for very long! If you don't score a goal
quickly with him he'll blow-up. It won't count against you though so don't worry about it.
Controls:
Now that we know how our yooyuball will act it's time to go over how to control your players! A large part of the game
is played using your mouse. To select a player simply move your mouse cursor over that player. They will
automatically be selected and the circle they are standing on will become highlighted (change colors). Once you
have your player selected simply move your mouse around the field and the player will follow. To pick up the
yooyuball simply run into it with your player and they will grab hold of it. When you are ready to shoot the ball just click
your mouse.
There are also keyboard controls you can use (although I rarely use them).
Left Arrow, Right Arrow, A, and D: Use these to toggle through your players.
Space Bar and S: Can be used to select or unselect a player.
Shift Key: Will move all players back to their starting positions.
Strategies:
First choose your team's position and formation on the field. I like to have my team on the right and I pick the 3 + 1
formation.
This first strategy will work for the Normal, Fire, Snow, and Clockwork Yooyuballs. Grab the ball rush to the
top corner and point at the bottom part of the goal... then shoot! If your angle is just right you'll score a goal.
This second strategy will work for the Normal, Fire, Snow, and Clockwork Yooyuballs. Grab the ball dash up
and then head down... shoot the ball towards the lower corner of the goal when your player is just a little ways away
from the white line.
This is the Faerie Yooyuball strategy that I use. I rush the goal straight on and shoot the ball facing the
goalie. The nature of the ball will curve around the goalie to the left or right and float right into the net.
Lastly this is the strategy I use for the Darigan Yooyuball. Important thing to note for this is you want your
player to reach just about the corner of the white line and then shoot at the wall along the white line. The Darigan
Yooyuball will go the opposite direction and head straight for the goal.
Most important thing to remember is to practice! The more you play the better you'll get and the more goals you'll
score. Good luck!
