Section Four
Charater
Since birth, Rryji has longed for adventure. However, being the heir to the throne of the Lost Desert kind of puts a damper on things. Although Rye has always been a kind, pitcure-perfect princess, in her heart sits a longing for adventure. If she had the chance, Rye truly feels she would leave her royal life behind.
At age three, her mother died, leaving her father to rule the desert. Because a king is scorned if he has no spouse, married his second wife; a seemingly innocent woman who was really a power-hungry sorceress (although he was unaware of her inner personality at the time). The sorceress's name was Diane, and she appeared friendly and innocent to her husband, but whenever she found herself alone with Rye, Diane would threaten her and make her do the servant's work.
Rye slowly sank into a depression and would not speak to anyone save her anubis, Ramses, who served as her sole confident. Unaware of his daughter's predicament, the king ruled the Lost Desert for the next thirteen years, before mysteriously dying in his sleep. No trace of poison was found, nor any sign of physical damage or oddities. The people of the Lost Desert simply assumed he had passed away in his sleep, and so they carried on without any suspicions.
Late at night, lights can be seen flickering inside the castle walls, and low, mysterious murmuring can be heard in the placid quiet of the sleeping mansion. Diane has a plan in the works, something she's been working on ever since she killed King Coltzan.
Now at age 16, Rryji feel the urge to do something, to put a stop to her insane stepmother. But first, let's learn a bit about Rye...

The Ever-faithful Petpet
Now, a princess is never seen without a companion, even if that companion happens to be a small, blue dog. The dog is man's best friend, and the Anibus is Rye's. Ramses is always seen by her side, faithfully following her wherever she may go. He is her sole confidant, and her hope when all is lost.
Customise/stuff
Ah, customization. Not really my favorite thing, but I do enjoy the occasional background or odd piece of clothing. I do not, however, believe in spending real money for pixel dress up items. It's just not something I want to spend my (little amount of) cash on.
Here's what i'm thinking for Rye:
I actually already have this background ^0^
I think it will look super cute, since
it's Lost Desert Themed. y'know? To be honest, there isn't really anything else i'd like to put on Rye. The background is the only thing I found while looking through customization sites. :) However, I have collected some other knicknacks for her which you can find in
my gallery.
This is a font I made for Rye, I think it's really cute- don't you? :3 (drag & drop)

Story- Part 1
Her silence was her salvation, people had long ago pushed the princess to the back of their minds, focusing instead upon the king and his bride-to-be, blissfully in love, or so it seemed. Even the king's own memories of his daughter, his family, his past were becoming fainter and fainter with each passing day. Coltzan focused on Diane, the new love of his life, doting on her and often traveling to far off lands of exotic people and sights just to bring her exquisite gifts.
Whenever her fiance was traveling Diane took advantage of her freedom, giving Rryji torturous and seemingly impossible tasks to complete. But since the girl never spoke, she also never refused, carefully completing each challenge she was faced with. Although Rye was doing exactly as she was told, it was infuriating to Diane to see the girl so complacent, even in her current position.
Diane wanted the girl to suffer, to be even more unhappy than she already was. So at night, when the princess was asleep in her quarters, Diane cast an enchantment over her. Rryji became plagued with nightmares, horrific scenes of loved one's deaths and attacks and war. So realistic were these dreams that she would awake, screaming in terror, only to find herself alone in her room, blanketed in darkness, but alone nonetheless.
Diane was pleased with her success, and it satisfied her greatly to see the girl more scared and in pain than she had been before. The fear only made Coltzan and his daughter drift farther and farther apart. Even the once loyal servants believed that the Princess, once a loving, caring young child, had been driven insane by her depression and fears.
Rumors spread throughout the city, until fear was struck in the very hearts of the citizens, fear of the princess. After all, once the king and queen had passed, who would rule the desert? Certainly not Rryji, for she was most definitely insane, unfit to rule anything, let alone one of the most successful kingdoms in all of Neopia.
King Coltzan and Diane were married a short while later, and a short while after that, Diane convinced the king that there was something not quite right in the Princess's head, and that she should be locked away or, at the very least, confined to her quarters until she became sane again, if that ever were to happen.
So the princess was locked away in her quarters, but the king, feeling compassion toward his only daughter gave her a small dog named Ramses as a companion. The fear that so many of the citizens had been feeling disappeared, and everything went smoothly for the next couple of months.
Then, when night had fallen of the hot desert land, blanketing everything in darkness and cool, there could be seen, if you were to look close enough, a soft red light emanating from the royal palace. But no one did see this light, nor did they suspect anything strange to be happening. but it was.
The next morning, the villagers awoke to terrible news. King Coltzan was dead, poisoned in his sleep, and the perpetrator unknown. The city was
Story- Part Two: The Return
2nd part
Old Story I never finished and didn't like xD
Imagine, if you will, a sea of sand, stretching far beyond the horizon. In the middle of this seemingly unoccupiable landscape, a kingdom thrives, unhindered by the scorching winds of the blistering desert. Through the street of this city, trumpets sound, announcing the presence of the royal family.
Rye sighed, but plastered a smile across her face as the guards pushed the grand palace doors slowly open. Her mother and father linked arms and began to move forward, perfectly in sync. Rye took her place behind them, concentrating on the things she and her tutor had gone through again and again. Back straight, smile, shoulders squared, focus, look straight ahead... She groaned inwardly and followed her parents out of the palace and down onto the street, Ramses, her anubis, pattering along behind her. They were the epitome of a perfect royal family. Tall and proud the small group made their way through the streets of Sakhmet. As the passed, citizens inclined their heads as a gesture of respect to their leaders.
After a short time, the trio and their guards reached Coltzan's shrine. There, they all payed their respects to the deceased king during the morning ritual, and once the service was ended, the royal party made their way back to the palace. As soon as she got inside, Rye's smile became more of a grimace. She rounded on her parents.
"Why do we have to do that anyway?" She asked. "Why can't we just go to a monthly service like a normal family, without all the attention being turned on us?"
Her mother sighed. "It is customary to do so, Rryji. You know that as well as I."
Well, I don't care about your stupid customs!" Rye yelled, "I want to be normal, I want to have a life!" And with that, she stomped away up the stairs to her room.
Throwing open the door, she ran in and slammed it behind her. It's not fair, she thought. Everyone else gets to live their life the way they want while I get everything all planned out for me, nice and safe.
She watched as the sun sank slowly in the sky. As the darkness took over and the world was covered in black, a plan began to form in her mind. Why should she put up with it anymore? She didn't want to be a princess, anyway.
The next day, Rye was awoken by the sound of Ramses whining at her bedroom door. The sun was only just beginning to rise, and the rest of the palace was still fast asleep. She cracked open her door, and Ramses scampered in. Quietly, Rye changed into a simple one shouldered white dress. She laced up her sandals and packed a bag with a large bag of neopoints, Ramses' various things, and a few items of her own. Around her neck Rye clasped a silver chain with a simple ankh charm hanging from it. She the went into the bathroom. I still look like a princess, she thought. She fingered her waist-length hair. Looking around the room ,Rye found a small pair of scissors, and began to chop long pieces of hair off. With each strand that fell to the ground, there came a feeling of rebellion, a feeling of freedom. When she was done, all that remained of her beautiful hair was a short, cropped bob.
She picked up Ramses and nestled him into her bag. With one last look around her room, she slipped out of her window and down the trunk of a large tree. Keeping to the edge of the perimeter, Rye made her way slowly across and out of the palace grounds. Where to go? What to do first?
