Personality: Like all Crested Gryphis. Tough as nails, but very happy.
Palimire, my younger sister. She's always in Maraqua, hanging out with her many friends. I would go visit her, but I can't breathe underwater!
Gr8_Smile, my oldest sister. Her prevous owner had bad taste in names, so I call her Kauie. :) Visit her petpage sometime, too.
Ayuithe, my older sister. I never see her. She's usually in her Altador home. You would think I would see her more since she's close by, but I can't find her house!
Hippogryphii are distinguishable from Eyries because of their more elaborate plumage. Many Hippogryphii, such as the Crested Gryphi, have very detailed markings with vibrant colors. In addition to the plumage, they have a larger wingspan than their western cousins, as well as longer legs.
Their cry is unmistakable: a loud, high-pitched whistle. Travellers ofter reffer to it as 'The Anthem of the Mountains'. Taking into account the fact that Hippogryphii are very talkative, and that each one has its own key it whistles in, that name might be the most accurate description.
The Hippogryphi are omnivores, more or less depending on the species. The Gryphis of south-eastern Neopia, including Altador and the mountain range to the east, feed mostly on small game and fish, though they've been known to hunt much larger prey. To both of them, petpets such as Altachucks and Hydruplits are rare treats. The endangered Shenkuurian Gryphus is know to consume large amounts of bamboo and other grasses, but rarely eats meat. However, farmers realize that any stray Pygui is lunch for these rare beasts.
Hippogryphis are one of the less intelligent sub-species of Eyrie. Unlike their Meridell and Neopia Central relatives, Hippogryphii are incapable of living human lives and tool use. However, they are still capable of speech. The Altador Gryphi, the smartest of the Hippogryphi, is capable of leaning as many as two new languages. But due to memory issues, the Hippogryphi are incapable of reading.
