Ecuna constructed by yours truly,
Vii (user: hirei) c: It was constructed with a 1280 x 800 screen
resolution and has been tested in Firefox and Safari though it should work in most browsers. Navigation can be found below or you can scroll through the
content as it is all in this lovely little content box :) Though I don't plan to change Ecuna's color, I do wish to change her gender so from this point
forward I will be referring to her as
male. I have also given Ecuna the nickname of
Eco, as a heads-up :)

Personality: At first glance, he is overconfident and hasty. He is slow to anger but quick to make others angry, even if he doesn't really mean to. He
is knowledgeable but flaunts it like a trophy, often times putting others down. He's kind of a brat, to be honest xD But as most people who act this way, it
is based on something more than just being a brat. Beneath that, he is sad, lonely, and scared of his ability. He is not a bad person by any means, he is
just unsocialized and reacts instinctually.
Etcetera: Eco is post-cognitive, an ability which has earned him his nickname. As a past statement may echo throughout a room, a past memory can echo
throughout time. When Ecuna comes in contact with these "memories," the effect can be anything from him feeling an emotion that isn't his, seeing a "ghost,"
or completely reliving a past moment. He can't control when these moments happen, but they are more frequent in areas that have witnessed extreme emotion.

In Depth
Ecuna is a young dragon, specifically of the race of Psydragons. Long coveted because of their cognitive abilities, most were destroyed in the many wars of
this world because of their tactical advantages for whatever species had control of them. The abilities have to be passed on from parents and are only able
to be acquired in this way. Eco never knew his parents - they were casualties of the war and he was raised in a tiny room in the Crystal Palace - the center
of the dragon race's fortress. Some might think being able to view the past is far less significant than being able to see the future, but the Dragon Lord
would beg to differ. The only time he would allow Eco to leave the tiny room he knew as home was blindfolded, to the sites of battles or where enemy groups
have met. Using Eco, he has been able to know what his enemies are planning and he could counter effectively.
And so, for the longest time, Ecuna never knew anything but that room, the few who visited it, and battle zones. Loneliness, manipulation, and violence. So
when he ends up meeting
Mikosu (the draik my amazing friend hatched for me for my birthday c: his nickname is Miku) entirely by chance, his life is changed in more ways than he
could have ever imagined. Miku is the illegitimate son of the Dragon Lord who has been blackmailed into doing his bidding as heir to the throne when
Sytira escapes from the palace. The one thing he has ever been able to get from his father is allowing Eco to travel with him when he is
sent on missions - and the only reason the Dragon Lord agrees is because Miku convinces him that Eco might be able to gather useful information while he's
out.
All of this is going to be written as a narrative should Ecuna come home with me :3
So because Eco has been locked up, he's not very socially skilled. So he either comes off as hostile, arrogant, or totally in his own little world. Miku
prides himself on being able to see the true character of a person and is able to see past all of that. He is one of the few who are ^.^; Eco's
overconfidence and childlike arrogance are just fronts, an image to cover up the fact that he is lonely and he is scared. He hates that he never knows when
his ability is going to kick in, and when it hits at its strongest he becomes drained physically and mentally. It is not uncommon for him to become ill after
an episode, and he knows that it is destroying his health. Psydragons do not have a very long lifespan because their abilities are so exhausting and make
them vulnerable. This is the reason he was locked up, so that the less he was exposed to the past, the less of an impact his abilities had on his lifespan.
Which would mean the longer amount of time the Dragon Lord could use him for his ability.
Companion
Mira is Ecuna's companion. She is what the creatures of this world refer to as a "beast" and are generally thought of as lesser beings. Part of Sytira's
goal, in his campaign for racial equality, is to get the world to treat them as equals rather than pets. Because they are usually kept from reaching their
intellectual potential, most beasts are kept as pets rather than friends. Most of them are not able to, though they would be if they were treated
differently, speak the common tongue or assume a human form. Eco, a victim of segregation and manipulation himself, does not agree with the world's view of
them.
Mira is intelligent and full of attitude. She cannot speak or take on a human form, but Eco and Miku have made it one of their personal goals to help her
achieve these feats. She is definitely an individual though - she doesn't need words to get her points across. She is mischievous and playful, often plotting
pranks for Eco.

Applicant
Hi, its me Vii. I have been playing Neopets for around ten years now. I have been wanting and planning a very specific Neopets family for a very long time,
and to be perfectly honest, Ecuna did not fit into this idea at all xD His character came to me completely randomly, and once I have a character... well, my
willpower equals zero. And he quickly became a key character - with his abilities and his experiences, he is possibly the most useful character existing in
this world I've created. What is written here on this page is not all that will be done with Eco. My characters never stop growing and changing, and Eco has
a ton of potential to do so.
If I were to be chosen, Ecuna would be stored on the account
viidoll. This is merely because it is the only account with room xD I consider all of my
pets important to me no matter what account they are on, and he wouldn't be neglected just because Neo decided they wanted people to have more accounts
rather than one account to store all of their pets.
Plans
I have five plans for Ecuna and they are as follows:
01. Artwork. One of my major plans for Eco is of course, artwork. I find art to be an extraordinary skill, one that I love practicing more than
anything else, and one that I will continue to practice as my years pass. I wish to use this method to convey the various stories my head holds for Eco.
Though you can see my main artistic plan in the comic section, he will be featured in volume covers, chapter covers, personal prints, doodles, sketches,
chibi images, fat heads (don't ask xD;), etc. Not to mention his quad form will be entered into the Beauty Contest (though in all honesty, I do not often
enter the BC), and any art of him will be plastered all over his lookup and petpage.
02. Design. My next plan for Ecuna involves my next artistic skill, graphic design. I have been designing websites and the like for nearly
eight years now, and I can successfully combine this skill with my others. My designing skills do not solely lie in websites, although featuring them in
websites was the main reason I picked up other forms of design. I can use graphic design skills to create a website intended to harbor the future comic that
Eco would become a key character of. I can use them to create comic book covers featuring Eco, comic pages, linkware buttons... the list goes on and on.
These skills would be applied to their Neo uses, such as giving him a petpage and a petlookup like the ones my current pets have (
example petlookup here).
03. Writing. Another plan of mine is to feature Ecuna in various kinds of artwork using the method of words. I will write him a background
story in first-person point of view, but do not expect that bit of literature to be the last he is in. No, I plan to do much more. Writing is another hobby
of mine because I see it as another form of art. Although my writing is not as impressive as my artwork may be, it is something I enjoy doing and something I
will continue to do. My characters are never forced to one medium, and the stories not featured in the comic will be written. Believe me, there will be many
of them.
04. Comic. My fourth and most epic of my plans is the online comic. I fully intend to create an online comic featuring all of my Neopets
characters. In this way, they can transcend beyond Neopets to hold a further place in my heart, to serve a greater purpose.

I like to think that I have much larger plans for my Neopets than most applicants, and it is a point I wish to stress. I want them for "something more" than
to grace my lookup, or even to pamper and gift with artwork. My Neopets are given background stories and are influenced by them, but they are never perfect,
and they are never put into a developmental sink hole. They have many more stories to tell than the one you have read, and they have much more developing to
experience. Their growing is never at a stand still, and never will be. This is what I wish to convey with this comic. People can change through hardship and
conflict, and they are ever-changing. Humans are always changing, and it should be the same way with characters (though mine are not necessarily human ;D).
And I wish to portray every single development they go through in this comic.
05. Customization. I tread very lightly in the world of neopet customization, but I tread there nonetheless. My motto in customization is the
simpler the better. I think simple customization is nice, and it doesn't lag my computer :) Below is a preview of what Eco's customization would look like:
Conclusion
So now we're at the end D: I sincerely hope that my dedication shows through, because these pets are not just pixels to me. They are living, breathing
characters that hold a tremendous amount of potential. I want to be the honored one chosen to tap into this potential. I want to be able to cherish and adore
my pixels for many, many years, and I want to feature them in the world beyond this website. I also want to apologize if you think this application has gone
overboard. I realize that I am quite chatty so I hope all of the content wasn't too much ^.^;
