You may not know it, but you are surrounded by garbage. That's right. There are billions of completely useless and worthless items that you pass by every where you go in neopia. It's a shame, really. So many pets have been affected. This directory is a place for pets who have been altered by the effects of pollution can gather together to support one another and take an active stand against pollution. Wanna know how to help? Out in Neopia:
Underwater Fishing. This is really a whole new playing field in and of itself, and one day I hope to become Marquan so that I can deal with it more hands-on...but until then underwater fishing is as close as I can get. You can fish as many times a day as you like and quite often you'll find some very useful items. Many of my friends eat mostly fish, so they spend lots of time here. However the reason it's included is because it, too is polluted. To find out more about what you can fish up and what it's all worth check
this guide out.
Meridell Dump. This isn't such a bad place, even though it tends to be on the smelly side. It isn't only a dump for trash, if you're looking for food it can often be found here. Of course the quality might not stack up to that at say,
Kelp, but that's for you to decide. If you'd like more information about this place check out
this guide.
Trades. Although on the surface it might not seem like this is a place for trash, it is. There are millions of junk items placed in lots for who knows what purpose. Since these items are typically worth less than 1np each it is pretty easy to persuade the sellers to part with them by offering some food. You'd think such a pretty island would have some guidelines on what you can bring there..
The Neopian Second-Hand Shoppe. This is a good place to go if you happen to want to rid Neopia of dung. Dung is not mass donatable, but when it is donated it ends up stinking up the thrifty clothes bargains you can find here.
In your own Neohome:
Now that you've collected some abandoned trash what are you going to do with it? DO NOT DONATE IT TO THE MONEY TREE!! *ahem* That's where I started this whole mess in the first place. It's okay to have trash as long as you know of some good ways to dispose of it. I know there will always be some trash in Neopia, but the less there is the better.
Discard. This option is hands down the best and what I wholeheartedly want to see more of. The item is gone from Neopia forevermore. What could be better? This is surely the way to a clean world.
UPDATE: Even though technically this site hasn't been launched yet.. I can do whatever I want as it is my page. *gives intimidating Grarrl glare* Ahem. As I was saying I was reading the Neopian Times today, (Issue: 317 | 9th day of Storing, Y9) and look what was in the editorial!
Hello TNT! Today I got bored and decided to do my best to get rid of some of the junk Neopia accumulates. It all came to me while standing next to the Money Tree, watching everyone go through all of that garbage to get something decent. My question is, if I spend all day collecting tons of garbage and discarding it, will it make much of a difference? Or is the junk creation rate much larger than the stuff I throw away? ~amaya_and_morgane
While we applaud your efforts at making Neopia a cleaner place, we're afraid junk creation is like an unending landslide of old shoes and palm fans. Much like the real world, though, don't let it stop you. Every little bit counts, so if you feel good by helping rid Neopia of unwanted items, we salute you!
Wow! Check that out. It seems as though I am not alone in my mission. And really all this means to me, is that we really can make an impact if enough of us are dedicated to it. So let's all get out there and start using that Discard option!! |
Feed. You've seen the activists and may be wondering why there are so many Grarrls and Skeiths working for this cause. Unlike most Neopian pets these two species have a unique digestive system. They can digest ANYTHING!! If you happen to own one of these pets you can feed them the trash rather than the typical food other species thrive on. Now, not all Skeiths and Grarrls
like to eat everything. Just because they are able to digest it doesn't mean they should be put on a diet of only Tombola Pencil Sharpeners. Ask your pet how they feel about eating trash. I personally love it. Makes me hungry just thinking abou--*munches on Old Boot* Ahem...
Display. This is an option I believe will help get the message across. The gallery on our account is my
Off the Streets Display. My goal is to completely fill it with trash items and then discard all of them. I would like to be able to store all the items I come across, but that's just not feasible and quickly becomes a health hazard. I upgrade the gallery size when I get a chance and would like for it to be able to hold a significant number of items before it's full. Neohome items, like the seaweed I catch while fishing, are stored in our neohome gardens. The current numbers are kept in the table below. Click on a total to view the garden.

Collections. People collect the oddest things sometimes, and this is no different. There are people who like to have hundreds, thousands, and maybe even millions of the same item. Many of these items are trash. But, as they say, one Neopian's trash is another Neopian's treasure. So ask your friends if they are collecting any of the items you regularly come across. if they are, share the wealth! If not, maybe you should start a mass collection. If you're the generous sort you can even give your items to strangers. There are a couple of petpages that have handy lists of items people are willing to properly store away in their safety deposit boxes.
I recommend
April's Mass Collection List.

If you want to start your own mass collection I have created a little table to help you keep track. You can edit the words and picture, but please do not remove the link. And as with everything else on this page, if you need help
contact me. Thanks!

This Directory. While it's not an "actual" way to rid Neopia of trash, the further the message is spread the more obtainable the goal is! As a disclaimer the pets listed here are not to be depicted as miserable or sad about their stated catergory. Each and every one of these pets is well loved and cared for by their owners. Do not spam their owners offering to "cheer up" the 'depressed' or "fix" the 'deformed.' Also none of these pets are up for adoption, so do not beg for them. Many of these pets worked very hard to become what they are, and the labels I have added are for entertainment only and to help the pollution fighting effort. So spread the word by linking back to this page or support us by adding your pet to the directory. There are no official "rules." You are not required to link back. There are no limits to how many of your pets can be listed, as long as they fit within the categories. If you would like your pet removed please neomail me and I will do so as soon as possible. Also if you have any suggestions or corrections, please contact me. Please keep in mind that this is a side account. If you need an IMMEDIATE answer the best account to mail is bruisedgreenapple.

These pets have been affected not physically, but mentally. Some of them have family members who are ill fated to a mutantous state, some have friends, others are just sad
for the state of our Neopian world.

Accidents left these pets permanently covered in a mysterious slimey substance.
