Introduction

Suddenly, a flash. A flurry of snow, followed by a bitter breeze. Snow? How did I get here?
You ask yourself, each step burying you deeper into the fresh new coat. The bitter winds-- though soft, still stung at the eyes, seeming to freeze any moisture it graced.
What am I doing here? You ask yourself; anyone who would dare venture this far would be out of their right MIND. A place free from this wretched wind, that's where I need to go. Conveniently, a silhouette of a structure is not too far ahead. Making your way through with your arm shielding your eyes, a large shadow passes over you, as if some large creature had just flown past. What was that thing? You look up to try to catch a glimpse of what it was.
I wouldn't wait to find out what that was. A voice called from behind.
Heart racing, you leap to your feet and turn to see that behind you is a large, lanky lupe. His grayed features and hunched over appearance gave an obvious 'not-threatening' look about him, but you still remained skeptical.
Kearyun, the guardian of the south-western territories of Shukumei. You might not want to be around during patrol, Kearyun doesn't take too kindly to strangers. You're welcome to come with me if you'd like. Not that you really have any choice, if you had planned on leaving here alive.
He begins to walk toward the similar structure from earlier, a large pile of rocks that were both frozen solid and eroded down into small, icy ruins. They looked like they wouldn't be any form of help, but upon standing inside you noticed you hide beneath the rocks, and they blocked the horrible wind chill that tore at your face.
The lupe had said nothing after that. He was just standing there, deep in thought.

The lupe snapped out of his trance, and squinted. Growllsan. The second. It's a pleasure. He replied, resisting falling into another spell.
Is this where you live? You inquire, your curiousity peaked at the lupe and his odd trances.
Live? Oh, no, this is just where I come to visit often. To think. It's nice and quiet. You give no response but a quirked brow.

Aki and I go back to our childhood. We were practically pups when we first met, and it was a friendship that clicked instantly, and a friendship that never, and will never die. I was all alone in my life until I had met her, she helped me see the beauty in myself as well as everything around me. She is so optimistic and kind, it is as if her aura lights up everything around her and suddenly the very soil she steps on becomes beautiful. She has stuck by me through every tough moment in my life--no..our life. All except one, and her absence was all my fault. I am constantly haunted with that mistake; I feel it will haunt me until my last breath. I want nothing but the best for her. I live to see her happy. I owe her my life. No, I owe her much more. No amount of words can express how much she means to me. She is my best friend. She always has, and she always will be. That fact alone is enough to put me happily at rest.
I will see her again someday soon. I will not stop looking until I find her, and make sure everything is alright with her. Even if I have to search using the last fragment of my life, I will. I have to..
