Now, many of us know that Jonas Brothers have been compared to Hanson, a trio of brothers who were big in the 90s. What you probably don't know is that there are MANY similarities between the two bands.

- During childhood, both bands lived all over the place before settling in the hometowns at their beginning stages of stardom... Tulsa, OK for Hanson and Wyckoff, NJ for Jonas Brothers.
- Both are made up of three brothers who are cute, play their own instruments, and have a passion for music.
- Both bands write all their own songs (true as of this year, because Jonas Brothers used 4 songs written by other people for their debut album)... Hanson with 100+ and growing and Jonas Brothers probably about 10-30 (educated guess people... not all that positive) and growing.
- All their written songs are based on something in their lives... relationships, struggles, brotherhood, etc.
- Both bands went through crisis with their record labels. Hanson left Island/Def Jam Records in 2002-2003 and created their own label, 3CG records. Jonas Brothers left Columbia Records in late 2006 and went over to Hollywood Records in early 2007. Both bands wrote songs about this experience... Hanson with "Strong Enough to Break" and Jonas Brothers with "Hollywood".
- Both bands wrote and dedicated a song in the memory of their grandmother (Hanson with "With You In Your Dreams" and Jonas Brothers with "Eternity")

- Both bands have used their last names in their band names... and the logos are formed a special way... Hanson has their logo merge the name of the band and Jonas Brothers has their logo merge the initials.
- Both the oldest brothers in both bands go by their middle names (Isaac Hanson is Clarke Isaac Hanson and Kevin Jonas is Paul Kevin Jonas II).
- The personalities in the bands are very similar except Jonas Brothers switch between Joe and Nick. Isaac & Kevin = wise, Taylor (middle of Hanson) & Nick = serious and quiet (with good singing voice), Zac (youngest of Hanson) & Joe = Crazy and wacky.
- Both bands use these instruments... guitar, piano, drums, and percussion.
- Both Kevin and Isaac are the main guitarist for their respective bands and don't sing as often as the younger brothers.
- The years that JB and Hanson became famous is about ten years apart! (Hanson in 1997 and Jonas Brothers in 2007)
- Both the Jonas Brothers and Hanson were discovered by a man named Steve Greenberg, who was the Vice President of the A&R department of Mercury Records (now known as Island/Def Jam Records) back in 1996 who became the new Columbia Records president back in 2005 (shy of 10 year difference).
- Both the Jonas Brothers and Hanson won the Kids Choice Award for Favorite Music Group within a difference of 10 years!

According to Garbo (Jonas Brothers bass player) took a picture of this...

And put this into his blog:
Today's day began at 6:30am when we loaded into the House of Blues in San Diego for our 11am matinée show. When we got there, we realized the band playing that night was none other than our mmmboppin' predecessors HANSON. Unfortunately, no battle dancing took place. Some fans had been lined up outside since 3pm the previous day! Hanson and Jonas fans living in harmony. Aww!

From 6/15/08
Hanson is willing to have a dance battle with the Jonas Brothers! Here's the confirmation of the possible dance battle from Zac Hanson:
The battle dance will come as soon as the Jonas Bros give us a date. They may have started the battle but I will finish it. I am not even sure if they know how awesome my dance skills were when they started this fight. - Zac Hanson

In the article: "Hanson weighs in on the Jonas Brothers" on msnbc.com-

- "On the musical side, I think there's very little similarity between us and the Jonas Brothers but I think they seem like really talented guys. They care about each other. [I] just really wish them a lot of luck. I hope they can translate what they've done into a career — a long career — in a similar way that we've been able to for many years. It's a great privilege to be able to have this be your career… The Jonas', however, may have that extra something special to carry them through.
– Taylor Hanson
- "I wish them all the best in the world. It's a hard job and they're definitely packing a lot in." – Isaac Hanson

Outcome:
Hanson took a while to warm up to the Jonas Brothers (although the Jonas Brothers have always respected Hanson), but Hanson has now given Jonas Brothers tons of respect for what they do… now onto earning the respect from Hanson fans (minus a certain few) and getting them both to do a collaboration…
