***My Life***
It was a misty morning when I awoke to find myself being taken to the lab ray. "Same old same old," I thought to myself. I was a female then and about 6 months old. I didn't know it at the time, but life was great. My owner fed me, played with me, I had loads of friends, and the best petpet in the world...but it didn't last long.
I was placed infront of the ray and smiled at my owner. "Don't worry Gloria," He said to me smiling, "Today is the day! I can feel it! I just know your going to turn spotted!
My heart was beating like every other day, not knowing what would happen next. My owner hit the zap button and in a flash I suddenly felt extremely odd. I was still a wocky and blue, but my mind wasn't on the same things anymore. My whole life had changed. My owner looked at me and frowned. I stopped smiling and looked at him. "What? What's wrong?" I asked in a concerned tone.
He sat down and I walked over and layed in his lap. "Gloria..." He said, tears coming from his face, "...I can't keep you...I can't deal with this...
My heart dropped lower then ever. "Why would he not keep me any longer?" I wondered. I looked up at him and purred. "But you have to!" I cried, "Why don't you want me?!
He picked me up without a word and we left the lab ray quickly. We walked toward the park through Neopia quietly. I saw one of my friends and waved. She didn't wave back though...she just ran away. My owner wouldn't tell me what was different and I had yet to see myself. We stopped infront of the clothing store and my owner took my collar off. He handed it to the uni to sell while I browsed around the store. I knew he was serious about giving me up so I took in everything in the shop, thinking I'd end up in the pound for sure.
As I wondered around a saw myself in a mirror for the first time. I stopped and just stared. "That's not me...it can't be!" I thought. I wanted to scream. The fur on my head was sticking up now and the fur around my neck wasn't as fluffy like the other female wockies. My owner saw me staring at myself and bit his lip. "I'm sorry Gloria..." was all he said. "How could I have become a guy?!" I screamed inside.
We left the shop after a few minutes but instead of heading toward the pound we went to the park. My owner set me down on a bench and closed his eyes. He didn't say anything, instead he just left me there...alone.
I crawled underneath a newspaper a neopian had left to get out of the wind. An aisha and her owner were packing up after a picnic while some other wockies were playing tag. I thought for a moment about going over to play but my heart wasn't in it. "Who would play with a freak?" I kept repeating to myself.
As the day started to end and neopians leave, storm clouds rolled in. The wind started to blow harder and I pulled the newspaper around myself tighter. Rain started to fall and my little newspaper shelter quickly melted. I ran into a tree to get out of the ran but I was still not completely dry.
I stayed my first few nights in the tree and stealing food from Hubert's Hotdog stand. It wasn't til a few weeks later though that I was caught by a young neopian girl. Her hair was a beautiful strawberry-blonde and she had the sweetest blue eyes. She took the hotdog I had just stolen and threw it into the trash. "Hey! Let go! That was my food!" I hissed as I tried to get away from her. She giggled and just held onto me.Just hush," She said looking me over, "There is no need to put up such a fight." I stopped fighting and she hugged me. "Your a mess lil wocky, doesn't your owner ever clean you?
I hung my head low and tried to avoid the question. She lifted my chin up and smiled. "No owner huh? Well don't worry. You can come home with me!" She said, walking off with me.
I didn't know why this strange neopian would want me. I was dirty, scrawny from lack of food, and low self-esteem. I wasn't even that attractive like most pets, no special markings 'cept for 3 dots under my eyes.
She took me past the lab ray and I shuddered. She smiled down at me reassuringly as she continued on her way. As we left Neopia we hoped a ride with a skeith on his pumpkin cart. I kept looking around as we rode across a meadow. I still had no idea where I was going excatly.
The skeith stopped the cart at a small cabin at the edge of a forest. The neopian girl, whose name was Rachel, waved to the skeith and took me into the house. It was pretty small, just 3 rooms. She put me down and walked into the other room.
Hungry? Rachel asked me from the kitchen. I was pretty hungry after not having alot to eat. I walked into the kitchen and sat down beside a small wooden table.
Rachel mades some omelettes and gave 2 of them to me. I ate them quickly and smiled up at her. I still wasn't sure what to think of this but I was happy again.
A few weeks passed and we moved out of the cabin and into a home just within the borders of Neopia. The cabin was our summer home I had found out and with winter approaching we had moved to the larger, warmer house. I had my own room again with loads of toys and a nice warm bed. Life was great once more, but something seemed a bit wrong...something was still missing...
It was a week after we had come home from the cabin that I met my new sister, and best friend. I was sleeping on the couch that day while Rachel had gone shopping like she had always done. I heard the car pull up and opened one eye lazily to make sure it was her.
The door opened and a blue lupe pup bounced in with Rachel. I woke up from my wocky nap and hissed at the pup. I hadn't been around any lupes before so I didn't know what to think of them. Rachel scolded me though and I stopped.
Well, if rachel thinks this pup is alright, I guess it is... I thought to myself.
The lupe barked and I pounced on her. We started to play and instantly became the best of friends. Her name was Valamay, or Vala as I called her. Rachel had adopted her from the pound from a liter of pups that a wolf had had. We don't know where Vala's pack is or who they are but for now we are her pack.
As of now this has been my life. Me and Vala are getting into trouble most of the time with our other 2 new brothers, Dinari and Hazel, so life is grand. Rachel won't ever leave me, she loves me to much unlike my old owner. She says no matter what I am, she'll always love me for me.
***Tenne, My Catamara***
Tenne is my angel catamara. Rachel bought her for me when I was first adopted by her. Tenne wasn't always an angel though...when I first went to the pet store I saw this sad looking catamara. I don't know why but I really wanted her, so Rachel being as nice as she is, didn't bother to argue and just bought me the catamara. When we arrived home she looked worse than ever and within the first hour I had her, she passed away. I was heart broken. Rachel said we would bury her instead of flushing her...I agreed since it seemed nicer. Just as we were about to bury her though, we noticed she was missing. I had no idea how she could have moved then but as we started to look for her I noticed this cloud thing following me. I grabbed it before it could zip away and as I did, there sat Tenne, my angel catamara! -smirk- So that is how I got the one and only angel catamara.
