Gaceyla's Guide to Superstition
H-h-hey there. Your name is guest, right? I'm sure you're wondering about Neopia's danger level? Well ... if you aren't ... you really should. Did you know that stepping out of your Neohome increases your danger level by 25.13333%? Don't you want to be better prepared? I hope you do.
With your well-being in the balance every single second of everyday, luck is your best friend! While not many people believe me, if you do certain things, it can make your world more or less dangerous! There are also wonderful charms you can carry to help ward off the many dangers of Neopia. I personally have a collection of 43 pairs of Lucky Green Boots. They might be a bit old, but they keep me feeling safe ... I feel really nervous without atleast one pair nearby. Those rampaging Kyriis certainly won't think of coming near me with these at my side!

Spiffy, aren't they?
Guaranteed to increase your luck and safety by 10%!
Good Omens
Having a grey week or feeling nervous about a codestone hitting you in the head? I do that all the time. Any of these methods are sure to bring you Good Fortune and protection against danger! I make sure to try each one every day!
Wearing clothes inside-out can help keep anything bad from happening to you during the day! Shirts are easiest to wear, though I have troubles with them because of my mane. Other neopets look at you strangely, too, but it's alright! They won't be able to curse you when you have the shirt on!
Picking up any sort of pencil you find on the ground is a great way to boost your luck! I leave lots around for me to find during my day - this increases my luck
5 times over! Best used to ward off bad grades in Neoschool.
A Lady Blurg landing on you can be a great source of luck! I don't really have a petpet to find any for me, so I had my owner buy me one ... but she was kind of upset when I squished it while trying to get it to land on me.
A Mortog in your Neohome is a way to ward bad things away from your home. They are very expensive for a reason, you know! People don't buy them to kiss them.
BLEURGH! I tried to ask my owner to buy one, though she got me a Quiggle plushie instead. It doesn't work the same, trust me!
Meeting 3 Babaas is a crucial way to keep stampedes and rampaging Kyriis away! My owner thinks I'm odd for keeping 3 Babaas under my bed, though I'm the only one in my family who will be safe!
An Angelpuss crossing your path is often a sign of good things to come. Make sure it is a plain Angelpuss, though! I tried it with a fire Angelpuss and later that day I burned my hand. They
must have been connected. I have no doubt whatsoever.
Meeting a spotted gelert is also a way to get lots of luck. I'm surprised Spotted is such a popular color for Gelerts! They must be mobbed every day they come around! I tried to get my Gelert brother, Disconsolation, to be painted Spotted ... but he just sighed and walked away.
Seeing a spyder cross a wall might seem like it'd be bad, though it's really good! I'm kind of scared of spyders, so I don't try this one that often ... but I hear it keeps spyders from biting you!
Bad Omens
Please stay away from doing any of these things, if you can try! I'm scared of all of these things. It makes me quiver just writing about them!
Walking under a ladder is the utmost WORST thing to do! It's best to stay as far away from them as possible! Those neohome constructors always have lots of ladders ... stay away from them! Walking under a ladder can increase your chances of having something fall on your head!
The number 13 is scary. Avoid anything that numbers thirteen! Jump the 13th step. Stay inside on the 13th of the month. If you have 13 cookies, eat one so you have 12. You'll be in real trouble if you stay near anything 13 for very long! ... I'll be locking myself in my room for an entire month when our account turns 13 months! Cross your fingers and jump three times to counter this bad luck.
A Meowclops crossing your path can increase your chance of falling down and hurting yourself! Should you know anyone with a meowclops, stay away from them. If a meowclops heads towards you, run away! They're very dangerous. Trust me. My brother Robinton wanted one, but I cried so much that thymihle decided to get him a Piraket instead.
Spilling salt on a slorg is not only unlucky for the slorg, but it's unlucky for you as well! If you spill salt on a slorg, throw the slorg over your shoulder and you should be safe. I suggest doubling up on your charms after contact, though, as you can never be too safe!
A batterfly in the Neohome can be devastating to you! It increases the chances of bad luck happening in your Neohome, which is usually the safest place for you. If you eat liberal amounts of cheese, the bad luck incurred by the batterfly should be gone. Remove it from the Neohome, or scream until your owner does.
A whoot hooting 3 times or seeing a whoot in daylight are both bad luck! If you manage to see a whoot in the daylight, run before it starts to hoot at you. Seeing a whoot in daylight can forewarn of impending falls from large distances. Throwing an egg is an effective way to get rid of bad luck from this.

Red and white flowers in a garden together might look nice, though it's really just asking for bad luck! If your garden has red and white flowers together, you might be in danger of being injured somewhere in your house. It's really bad! Removing one or both of the flowers and throwing them over your shoulder should counter the bad luck.
Opening an umbrella indoors means you're just asking for things to fall on your head. I recommend never keeping umbrellas in the house at all. A little rain is better than something large falling from the sky and hitting you! If you manage to open one inside, throw the umbrella out immediately!
Stepping on cracks makes you more vulnerable to broken bones. Who wants broken bones? Not me! You may seem a little weird hopping over the cracks in the sidewalks in Neopia Central, though you will be a LOT safer.
Spilling ink is devastating. Should you spill ink, bad things could happen to your personal property! I spilled some ink and a week later my book poofed into purple smoke. They're certainly connected, I know it!
Breaking a mirror is the
worst thing you can do! Not only will you get bad luck, but you will get 7 years of it. You will also have to stand in a bucket of grape jam carrying 2 watermelons to try to counter the bad luck. It's worse than breaking the mirror in the first place!
Crossing a stream carrying a gruslen makes you vulnerable to drowning. Gruslens and water should never come in contact. Carrying one across the stream is bad. Should you have to, though, try throwing the gruslen across instead of carrying it. It might save you the bad luck!
12 leaf clovers are the antithesis to 4 leaf clovers. They're just weird! If you ever find one, throw it away immediately. They are BAD luck! More leaves on a clover does not mean more luck ... only 4 is lucky!

How to Make a Good Luck Pendant
Have all of these things but still don't think you've warded off the danger just yet? Try my handy-dandy Good Luck pendant! Guaranteed to ward off danger and increase your luck by 50 percent! WOW!
You Will Need:
- A Good Luck Object (piece of an oyster shell, a special ring or other small thing.)
- String
- Scissors (only use with your owner's supervision!)
- Beads (optional)
Instructions:
1. Take your object and make sure that it has a hole or some sturdy opening in it! You might have to have your owner help you. Using a ring or a good luck bead is best, as there's a hole in it already!
2. Use your scissors to cut a good length of sturdy string. You can use a necklace, too.
3. String the string through the hole in your object.
4. Add colorful beads to either side of the object. Make it look nice!
5. Tie the string ends tightly together (make sure they're tight! Don't want your lucky object falling off.)
6. Wear your good luck pendant everywhere! It is sure to ward off any bad luck you might encounter!
