Naturally, I'm a popular guy so to try and get some time to myself away from all my adoring fans I thought "Hey, why don't I put some info about me up on my petpage for all to see?". And then I got my owner to do it :)

FroggerSocks - the Wocky Inside

I was born on the 3rd of June 2004, and I'm now a whole 35916 hours old. Why do I count in hours? Because I can. Back then of course I was a plain colour, a pleasant enough shade of green and being a wocky I was naturally good looking. I am my owners first pet, probably her favourite too no doubt, and we used to spend many hours wandering around Neopia playing boring games and looking for petpets.

Petpets

Ah, my favourite thing to do in the lands of Neopia - look for petpets :) We used to collect lots of petpets though eventually my owner decided there were really too many to try and collect. We gave a lot away to good homes and the others went out to my owners other pets - some even got painted! There are a lot of petpets out there, all different kinds from aquatic to robotic. New ones pop up in Neopia from time to time so I like to keep an eye on the news to see what's new. Not that we collect any more but some of my fellow pets are still waiting for a petpet they like best - and of course they come to me for advice :)

Trooper - Neopia's Finest

My own petpet has been with me for quite some time now. He's been with us for an even longer time but it was only when I was a bit older that I was allowed to look after him myself. I still don't think it's my fault that I kept dropping him down the wishing well... Anyway, he's my proper petpet now and I wouldn't swap him for anything else :) He used to cheer me on in the battledome and shout insults at my opponents - ah, fun times. When I was painted Faerie my owner painted Trooper too to match me and now he can fly around all over the place :)

Of course, he does tend to cover me in his slorg slime which is icky to say the least. And it takes forever to get out of my fur, shampoo companies just don't cater for a wocky who likes volume and shine with maximum slime removal. Sigh.

What's that? Don't have a slorg for a petpet to keep my fur clean? Are you MAD?! Trooper's shouting insults now - ha, how do you like that. Ha. No, no my slorg will be going nowhere thank you very much. Hmph.

About Slorgs

It has come to my attention that some people (hmph) are of the opinion that slorgs do nothing more than cover their pets with slime. But they do oh so much more. They um, they....well...ah, for starters they come in a variety of colours!

Here's some of the cooler colours you can paint your slorg (if they deem you worthy of spending their time with of course):

Erm, the less said about mutant the better. Slorgs can be bought from the Spooky Petpet Shop in the Haunted Woods and they're very inexpensive :) Trooper started out as a plain green slorg and decided that Faerie was the colour for him after a while. One last thing about slorgs is this guy:

That is what happens when you throw a Meowclops and a Slorg in to the Cooking Pot together - a Slorgclops, pretty neat. But really, I don't know anyone brave enough to try and soak a Meowclops like that, even with no depth perception any cat is best avoided when soggy! Oh and please - do not add salt!!

More on Petpets...

A little more on petpets before we get back to the important thing here - me. Many of the other pets my owner has also have petpets, I help choose of course. Just because I'm a fantastic colour doesn't mean my owners tastes will always be spot on after all :) Where would she be without me, heh. So! First lets take a look at the petpets on this account here, we're our owners original pets so it stands to reason we'd all get great petpets yes? Well I have a Slorg so that's a good but um, kinda cheap start...

Fender is so spoiled. He did have a snowbunny for a petpet but after he was painted he just couldn't wait the long time it takes to get that avatar. So my owner got him a Faerie Polarchuck - they go really well I think. Bumble is almost as hyper as Fender and they buzz about all day :) Fender even has a petpetpet! I think he's working on his own pet page to give information about those...

Komodo used to use the petpet laboratory which was pretty fun but at Christmas time a good friend of my owner gave him a suprise present - a Ukali! Okay, I'll admit it... I'm so jealous! Still it does Komodo good to have Ponder around, at least Ponder is smart enough for both of them ;)

Wishy has a Flowper called Dandelion - he likes cuddly petpets and the colour yellow. Fortunately since Wishy is yellow that's a pretty good match. Yes, I approve.

Now my owner has other pets too and some of those have petpets, let's have a quick look at what they've got:

My owner certainly likes Gallions, but they are very nice petpets with lots of great colours. The Gruslen there got my owner an avatar on another account - she'd completely forgotten that those petpet get you an avatar :) Snowbunnies also come in great colours and even I'll admit the Weewoo is nice for a bird. My owner usually gets her pets petpets based on colour matching but also they have to be petpets she likes, most of those are her all time favourites - and mine too :D

There are also a lot of petpets that haven't been released yet that are rather cool - Trick is waiting for them to release the Mutant Gangee for one of her other pets to have.

FroggerSocks - a Journey

You might think collecting petpets is an easy job...but have you tried it? So many to collect and plenty of them are very good at hiding (and biting). And what's more most have to be bought! Which means I have to sit through even more boring games. But as if all that wasn't enough, there is also an evil that lurks within Neopia - an unspeakable evil that all petpet collectors fear the most. The Pant Devil. I have no idea why he thinks that is a scary name. But! He steals unguarded petpets, sometimes before you have the chance even to protect them! No sooner have they set foot in your home after they've been brought back from the shop and they are instantly Pant Devil prey. I am pleased to say that the most the Pant Devil has stolen from us has been snowballs or omelette. Mmmm, omelette... Where was I? Ah yes.

So when I first came across an arena known as the battledome, my interest was piqued when I witnessed a fellow wocky waging a battle against the terrible Pant Devil! It turns out that the Pant Devil is a bit of a wimp - who would have thought it with such an oh so scary name, ha. So if that little wocky could do it, then so could I.

I became a battler - a ninja kitty!

FroggerSocks - the Warrior Hero

I was all set to be a fierce battler, to train myself up and battle many of the opponents who seem to wait around the battledome all day looking for a fight. My owner took me to training schools, one of which was quite content to be paid in rocks. So that was cheap I guess :) It was slow progress but occasionally the faeries would help me out - yeah, I know - I'm that special! The Faerie Queen herself blessed me with greater strength and skills, but really I mustn't name drop. Whoops, too late..anyway, progress was slow and after I'd met the first few challengers I was having to wait a long time to get trained up.

After a fight I overheard another pet moaning about how she'd turned into a girl that morning. Thinking there was obviously something wrong with this deranged kougra I had a quiet word with my owner. Imagine my shock when I discovered there was a secret lab ray people used to zap their pets in order to secure a better looking pet with better skills. Amazing they manage to keep these things secret, though I guess the goody two shoes "save the animals" faeries wouldn't be too happy if they knew. Apparently the lab ray doesn't come cheap but I begged my owner day and night, even did the whole kitty cat eyes thing, and eventually she caved in and bought me access to the ray!

Now my 1337 skills were going to get even better, and even faster too!

FroggerSocks - a Star is Born

The lab ray is fantastic! It can help you get trained up far faster and cheaper than through the training schools (yeah even the one where you can pay in rocks!) but be warned, other things can happen besides your stats going up. For starters they can decrease just as easily as increase though overall they do seem to go up more than down. Your hit points (that's owner jargon for how long I can fight before I get knocked out don't you know) can only go up and never down so that's pretty sweet :)

Another thing that can happen is that your fur can change colour! Sometimes in fact you even change shape slightly too. This was something I was prepared to put up with for the greater good and I just had to cross my paws and hope the other big possible side effect wouldn't happen....

Your species can change. Nasty stuff. Well nasty for a wocky, we are after all the most beautiful and graceful neopian creatures :) I guess if you're not a wocky then this is a chance for you to become one, so this side effect could be a good thing for some. This is what happened to Komodo, he was a techo who became Kougrafied then Pterified, Meercafied, Skeithified and now Unified *giggles* He doesn't seem too bothered though as he's already picked what he wants to be when he's finished training :)

Needless to say I was spared a species change. My skills improved and I went through a few colour changes...on my second zap I turned Glowing. I'd become radioactive! O_O Apparently this is a real pet colour though, but really really not my style. Next I was Orange, which actually looked alright - it's not really that unnatural a colour for a cat. But then on Day 15 in the Lab Ray, um, Laboratory, everything changed.





Totally gorgeous :) My short battledome career was over. Come on, would you fight if you looked this good? No more lab ray for me either which is why Komodo is now the battle pet. Trooper was most relieved - not only did he no longer have to worry about me being zapped but he was running out of original insults to hurl at my battledome opponents.

Some time after when my owner painted Fender Faerie she decided to splurge even further and painted both myself and Trooper Faerie! Now I'm the most lovely wocky there is :)

Wock Til You Drop

Finally, a little about the best pets of all - Wockies! We start off in life as one of four lovely colours; Red, Green, Blue and Yellow. As if that wasn't enough we can then be painted a selection of more exotic colours, here are a few of my favourites:

Obviously, my favourite of all is Faerie! :) Wockies pull of this great colour best, and the same can be said for Fire and Electric. Trick has another Wocky who she painted Electric - she looks almost as pretty as me! Plushie is another cute Wocky colour and while I'm not a fan of Grey myself Wockies are one of the most popular pets to paint this colour. Basically, Wockies rock!

Wockies also appear in the popular game Neoquest II. My owner has played this game a bit but she says she doesn't have the time at the moment to play it properly. I don't mind - I find it a bit boring, the star of the show should really be a Wocky after all. Here's a Spectral Wocky from the game as they own:

If Ghost Wockies looked like that then that would be another top Wocky colour!

There's also a Wocky Band called Wock Til You Drop who play at the Concert Hall in Tyrannia on the 3rd and 5th of every month - don't miss them!

Wocky Adoptables :)

Before I go, my owner did some lovely adoptables of Wockies for people to use themselves :)

All these adoptables are based off of a template of the Wocky - Electric Prance shopkeeper, my owners favourite wocky pose :) Some were simple recolours of the template she created, others needed a little redrawing...others a lot of redrawing!

Even as adaptations there are a few rules: please do not remove the link back code, we like people to be able to see the full collection :) Also do not remove my owners name and claim these as your own - she spent an awful lot of time making these and adapting them and I will be very cross if I find out someone has done this. You have been warned! :)

Note from Trick - All existing wocky colours have been covered with the exception of electric as the shopkeeper above already exists, and the halloween wocky as it walks on two legs, not four like in the pose. Also I have tried to keep the colours faithful to the original pet colours, however again there are some exceptions: baby is simply a smaller version of the wocky, no hugely over sized head or big googly eyes; desert has a head dress type thing (like a desert wocky in a recent background pic) rather than a black wig; cloud has slightly more realistic clouds rather than the usual; and purple has no orange spots - believe me when I say wockies do not approve of orange spots!
